  1. you should of opened up the can of whoop-ass on that Florida State graduate!
  2. The majority of people attending amusement parks are locals. That's the good thing about being a woodie fan. There are less cost savings and the same blueprint can't produce an exact clone because of the many variables with wood.
  3. Cyclone at Willow Grove because I thought it would fall apart. Blue Streak at CLP because I tried riding in the last car with my arms up in the air. The only time I away had to pull my arms down and hold on.
  4. Here is what I'm currently expecting to visit next year: April/May Coney Island SFGAdv Knoebels Memorial Day weekend Canobie and the parks in Maine (new parks) June TPR UK trip with Scandanavian add-on (new parks) SFNE Independence Day Weekend SFA Ocean City/Maryland shore parks (new parks) PKD BGW Labor Day Weekend Holiday World Beech Bend (new park) Camden Park (new park) Indiana Beach I also have TBD softball tournaments in October hopefully in Dallas and Palm Springs: If so, side trips to SFoT (new park) and SFMM and possibly DCA (new park) I have no idea how many new coasters that would be, I'll figure it out after we get the itinerary for the UK trip
  5. Great point I remember changing the start day my trip to the smaller parks in Pennsylvania based on the differing schedules. I actually missed Lake Waldameer in 2004 because they were closed the day I driving through the area. Coastin Katie - Also, I didn't realize SFA to Kennywood was so quick. I start in New York and it takes 5 hours from the time I get to Easton, PA to get across the state. I keep forgetting the Eastern seaboard is not a straight line and the Balt/DC area is as far west as Harrisburg, PA
  6. 1st Coaster of the Year: Cyclone on Palm Sunday (March 20th) Last coaster of 2005: Montu on October 14th Highlights: sending a check in for the TPR UK Trip finally getting in Kingda Ka in August Memorial Day weekend: Midwest trip (Dells,VF, Camp Snoopy, MiA, SFGAm) Labor Day: Pennsylvania smaller independent park trip
  7. I would switch the days you do SFA and Hershey (SFA to Kennywood is quite a hike) and this would allow you to spend a more time at Hershey which is a full day park. Also, I don't know where you are planning to stay but if you stay near Hershey the night before you visit the park, they have a preview plan. You can enter the park for the last couple of hours the day before your visit at no additional charge. Waldameer is a nice little park but I enjoyed spending time at some of the other smaller Pennsylvania parks (Lakemont and Conneaut Lake). However, Waldameer fits in nicely with your itinerary.
  8. 1 - Knoebels 2 - Cedar Point 3 - Indiana Beach 4 - HersheyPark 5 - SFGAdv 6 - SFMM 7 - BGW 8 - SFoG 9 - IoA 10 - BGT something like that although it is hard to leave out Kennywood
  9. Gnawing off your leg might be the best meal you get in England. OK, I'm ducking now. Fire away Brits
  10. Park Trips and I are suggesting MFI because it is close to SFDL and the dude is on a strict budget. He has stated that more than likely it will be only SF parks since he is buying a pass. MFI is also so close to Niagara Falls and if his family is doing more than just amusement parks maybe he can talk them into an extra park for little extra money and time.
  11. Martin's Fantasy Island is certianly worth the $8. Actually the night time special was $6.95 when I went in 2004. The Silver Comet is a very good coaster at worst (personally I think it's great). In my 4 hours in the park I got at least 10 rides on the Silver Comet, plus rides on a couple of flats. They also have a couple of hokie Wild West Shootouts. And now they got a spinning mouse. You can't go wrong for $8. FYI - there is also a nightime special for less than $15 (I can't remember the exact price) at SeaBreeze which is in Rochester, NY. I was not impressed with the coasters at LaRonde but they have a unique selection of flats. If you go to LaRonde they can not scan your season pass. You will have to go to a window to the left of the gates and show them your pass, they will then write down your name and gave you a paper ticket that can be scanned.
  12. Joe - you know my thoughts. These things rock. Whether I know others at the park or am on my own I have a blast on these things. At Keansburg with a mix of Lusse and non-Lusse the trick is to get one of the Lusse and wreak havok on the kids in the non-Lusse. But not if their mothers' are watching. I had one incident where someone was lining up to T-Bone me and I spun the wheel hard right then hard left and the Skooter abruptly stopped and moved backwards and the guy that was targetting me went straight past me into the wall and he was rear ended pretty bad by the buy behind him. My favorite part is going along the straight away and just banging the crap out of the car along side you the whole length of the straightaway.
  13. I agree with whomever said none of them during anything more than a misting. I have ridden too many coasters in the rain (and some of them in close to freezing rain). The only beneift is shorter to non existent lines if the coaster is running. My best rides in light rain were at Knoebels with Phoenux and Twister. Worst experiences besides freezing on the CI Cyclone and at Knoebels would be SFNE S:ROS and Borg Assimilator. With SFNE S:ROS I went on a Sunday and my eyeballs hurt me until Wednesday (no joke). With Brog Assimilator it started pouring as we pulled out of the station and lying on your back out of the station and up the lift as the rain poured down was not fun. Flight of Fear is indoors but becomes a nightmare wait in the rain if lightning is a possibility because the transformers sit outside and are prone to lightning strikes.
  14. I want to be in your ride if you make this trip in close to one hour.
  15. News Flash - Park Trips comment on the Stone Mountain Gondola credit was SARCASM I think I visited 15 new parks and picked up 80-90 credits (I'm too lazy to count right now) New Parks include: SFStL Geauga Lake SFGAm MiA Valleyfair Mt Olympus Riverview Park Timber Falls (can I even count this as a park) Camp Snoopy Waldameer Conneuat Lake Idlewild DelGrosso's Lakemont Clementon
  16. I think there is a lot of doubt! I'd put the Vu at #3 Mind Bender is tops in my book I'd put Georgia Scorcher and Georgia Cyclone ahead of both
  17. I really think Silver Comet at Martin Fantasy Island is a great little coaster. I know Park Trips agrees
  18. Although I personally enjoy SoB. I would only say that I don't get a coaster if the vast majority of people rave about it. That "I don't get it feeling" makes me feel lost when I get in a conversation with a other enthusiasts. It makes me look down to make sure I have my pants on.
  19. I went to check it out early in the summer and it was gone The had a Lake Compounce brochure from the time it was owned by Hershey that i wanted to reference.
  20. Thunderbolt is another that I had heard such great things about and was unimpressed back in 2001. However ,I had I very good ride on my return trip in 2005. I have heard similar thoughts from others who don't often frequent KW so I can take out of that this coaster must have its share of bad days.
