  1. and on top of what everyone else is saying about the uselessness of this thread. this matter is settled every year by Mitch's poll and I vote for Hmmm - I hate vowels
  2. Ok now I'm mad. There were only families riding those dragons when I was at Riverview and no one was spinning them. If I had known about the spinning I would have given it a whirl. The park is pretty weak, even the chocolate covered peanuts that I bought were horrible (and overpriced).
  3. Not so old that the cars have the comestic dragster wheels. They made those cars the best looking in the business.
  4. Woodie Division #1 Balder VS #8 Judge Roy Scream #4 Raven VS #5 Ghostrider #3 Tonnerre de Zeus VS #6 Gwazi #2 Thunderhead VS #7 Mean Streak nice selection on the best woodies. who has ever accused Judge Roy Scream, Gwazi or MEAN STREAK of ever being the best
  5. I love this description of their Boomerang from their website, 75-80MPH The Ragin Cajun is a giant steel looping roller coaster that drops from 14 stories up. 14 Stories tall Built in Germany Most popular coaster ever built There are 34 exactly like this around the world The only coaster popular enough to be mass-produced 7 cars, holding a total of 28 people Runs 1/2 frontward, and 1/2 backward at speeds of 75-80mph Inverted loops throw 3.8 G's, forward and backward
  6. The only park I visited where I got multiple rerides was KBF. Unfortunately, I don't make it to many parks on weekdays.
  7. I was those Labor Day weekend of 2005. The back seat of Blue Streak was crazy for the first half of the ride. Not extreme air like Shivering Timbers or Phoenix but I was lifted out of my seat. And with those minimal restraints it become the first coaster I had to ride with my hands down holding on. As Park Trips said Flyers and Tilt-a-Whirl were running at least late in the season.
  8. I didn't even know about the coastercounter.com site. Although it did help me realize that I missed 4 legitimate coasters from my excel spreadsheet. I also realized that I was counting two extra ones. Anyhow I think I have an accurate count now.
  9. Coastermaster (286) for now, Coastermonster by June of 2006. Could possibly become a Coastermeister if I completely whore it up!
  10. Canobie Fan - Soory, Park opens Memorial Day Weekend Park Trips - They had a car show when I was there also (Labor Day weekend) Everyone else - I'm glad they are instituting a parking fee, they need more cash and can't rely solely on donations and fundraising. It looks like they will still have free parking for the further spaces from the park entrance.
  11. I'm sure I'm being predictable here but... I object!! Louise - don't worry it happens during the Add-on portion in Norway
  12. Nowadays, I'm not really a water park fan. I used to love them when I was a teen through my early 20's. I'm sure when I have kids it will be different. I haven't been to a water park in years. Maybe I was traumatized by Action Park.
  13. I've had a premonition. Elissa steals Barry's passport on the UK Trip and burns it so Barry can not return to the US.

  15. Barry Homilow - You write the songs that makes the whole world cringe.
  16. I don't know how Cyclone survives through any snowstorm or even a windy day for that matter. The coaster is like a vampire that won't die.
  17. http://www.themeparkreview.com/wgrove/wgrove.htm You have a picture here of the Twister, just an eentsy weentsy bit wilder than a Tilt-a-Whirl
  18. Robb I have to disagree, The Twister is definitely worth saving. Oh man they run that at full speed and I guarantee you can not walk straight afterwards. The fun house is worth saving if it can be fixed up.
  19. sorry, there will not be a velvet bow on your envelope
  20. You are 14 and you liked coasters a "long time ago"???????
  21. I'm 38 and past the "free labor" stage in life. I consult now. Actually I'm in idiot when it comes to technology, and have no technical skills. However, since I work in advertising I know a little about the publishing business.
  22. ^ I recognized it from riding Nitro so much and now that I have my UK airfare booked and I don't want to leave my house in the snow I have time to waste tonight.
  23. part of the chain lift mechanism http://rcdb.com/ig531.htm?picture=7
  24. A better idea and less timing consuming for R&E might be to set up a separate area on the site for well written and coherent articles by the members. Of course, well written and coherent would prohibit many on this site from submitting anything or force better use of grammar. R&E could accept submissions, so that it doesn't become 4,000 rambling senseless unreadable pieces of prattle. No timetables for new articles, just whenever R&E see a good submission they post it. In reality, the cost of publishing a glossy magazine is very expensive. Printing and mailing 2,000 issues would be "at least" $25,000-$50,000 per issue is done properly.
