The Official "TPR 2006 UK Tour" Thread!
larrygator replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
For the record, I told Joe today how bad all the Schwarzkopf's were on the UK trip (and Add-on) before I was punched in the face by a female line cutter I confronted waiting for Superman: Ultimate Flight at SFGAdv. The two events were unrelated. -

The Brochure says the Ice Bar is open when the park is open. Surprisingly the park has 15 rides open from mid-November through Christmas time -

sorry Nicole - I took "Part 1" to mean Part 1 of the Add-on, not thinking there would be two parts to Tusenfyrd. "Pound on Dude" -

On Nemesis Inferno, the enthusiasm from the ride ops during ERT was above and beyond. The one girl smiled and had fun with her job and us even with Ryan trying to pound her. -
Everyone must Email Dan...NOW!!!

Yes, I can see how it would only be "funny for Dan" if he receives individual messages, versus to same ones over and over -

A few queries regarding SFNE, Lake Compounce, TGE, La Ronde
larrygator replied to 307's topic in Ask Alvey
you picked some bad parks for flats in Seabreeze and Great Escape - I have nothing to recommend at either. I'm also not a huge fan of Lake Compounce flats but their Enterprise is good as should be the new Screaming Squirrel. The SkyRide is a must if you have 20 minutes and are not afraid of heights. The log flume will get you wet. SFNE - Time Warp is one of my favorites, You have to try the skyway for it's uniqueness, Scream is a good tower ride and now they have the old Sky Swatter from Astroworld La Ronde has some enjoyable flats - you can really get the Tea Cup (Tasses Magique) spinning fast, the Auto Tamponneuses is a good version of orbiting bumper cars. Disco Ronde, Manitou and Maelstrom are also fun. However the one thing not to miss at LaRonde is their version of Fried Dough called a Beaver Tail. Find the place that serves them and you will be in heaven. Also, with La Ronde if you have a Six Flags season pass they can not scan it at the turnstiles. You need to take the season pass to the Guest Services (Resignment) window just to the left of the turnstiles and they will give you a paper ticket (billet) that can be scanned. At least that is how it was in 2004. Good luck -
you can have the utmost confidence that R&E will do what is best and coordiante side trips if possible. they know what they are doing. you must keep in mind that while sidetrips at late night reduced prices sounds good this is also the time that ERT will be most likely be available and that will be a big perk on all TPR tours.

Nicole - Black Revolver was the indoor waltzer at Drayton. Also, you would had had more fun at the Funhouse if you and Derek had joined the B.O.T.B.C. earlier. The B.O.T.B.C. enjoys the situation no matter where they are. OK - maybe we didn't enjoy the rest of Southport, but anywhere else. -
thanks Joe - but I've only been on 96 wooden coasters to be exact, I exaggerated if I said 100 on your site. Trust me I'm not trying to boast about coaster count just want to point out that I have the proper frame of reference and love wooden coasters. The ride is amazing but it can be better. As Derek said the stapling really weakens the air sensation, and forget about the insanely slow dispatching. With better operations and changes this coaster could move up my list. For the record, for air alone I prefer Phoenix, Voyage, Balder, Shivering Timbers, and Cornball Express but I also like a little craziness in a wooden coasters as long as it is not painful.

I've got a stray hotel key (not sure how I got that), British pounds, a Donkey pen, a used Elissa Bingo card, a Balder hammer, some British Rail passes, some "front of the line" passes, and a few wristbands. I wonder how much these would fetch on eBay in If I see a Balder hammer on sale on eBay I will buy it and hunt the person down who sold it and introduce the claw end to their skull. No I'm not upset that I didn't get a hammer -
^Rich here is a comparison. Not as good! First they completely staple you in on El Toro, you still get air but it is not the free air you get on Balder. The last 1/3 twister portion is good. However, the turns are too far apart to enjoy the overbanked turns yet too close together to make for a good trick track. Keep in mind I'm one of the few from the UK Trip that doesn't have Balder as my favorite woodie, it is my 5th favorite and I'd put El Toro at #12. I'll be riding a couple of times this summer so that opinion may change.

Joe, unlike you he also has a TPR 2006 UK Trip shirt. Ouch that hurt!

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
larrygator replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I rode El Toro yesterday. Luckily I rode Balder 5 days earlier so I know El Toro is not the best Intamin woodie. I did not share that fact with all the others riding the world's best roller coaster or whatever SF is calling El Toro -
