  1. SFNE Cyclone takes the cake for me. Mean Streak is another one. A haven't ridden Deperado in 8 years but I hear it is not the coaster it used to be, due to being unkept. Personally I don't feel much of a difference in Magnum versus when I first rode in the early 90's
  2. I try to leave my cell phone in my car. I usually don't like carrying it around while in the park as I'm not addicted to it. No reason to talk to friends while I'm at the park. If I really need to have the phone while I'm in the park (someone is meeting me at the park) then I put in my sunglass case that I clip on to my belt or belt loop. My cell phone did slide out of pocket on Superman Krypton Coaster but lucklily it slide into my seat under my butt and not out of the ride.
  3. Joe, It's good to know that I'm not the only one who got a flat tire heading home from an amusement park this past weekend.
  4. I love the fresh grilled corn on the cob in the husk at SFStL and SFFT, but with the butter it is not vegan friendly
  5. Jay, I wish I had something positive to tell you but I remember when a couple from New York traversed the country for amusement parks, the wife was a vegan and had a miserable experience at most parks.
  6. knowing ParkTrips, "naff" must have something to do with British porn
  7. My favorite non-coasters, in no particular order: 1) - Flyers at Knoebles 2) - Auto Skooters at Knoebels 3) - Looper at Knoebels 4) - Adventures of Spiderman 5) - Any Giant Frisbee 6) - Kangaroo at Kennywood 7) - Twister at Williams Grove (RIP) 8) - Breakdance at Coney Island 9) - Falling Star at Indiana Beach 10) - X-Scream at Stratosphere Tower
  8. I'll get back to you with an answer in 6 weeks
  9. that is such a good idea yet one that I always forget to follow through on
  10. I'm in agreement with ParkTrips 1. Top Gun the Jet Coaster 2. Montu 3. Talon 4. Dueling Dragons 5. Batman the Ride
  11. I think the Days Inn in Freehold is the closest motel to the park. However, I remember trying to help someone else out last year and the Ramada Inn in Tom's Rivers was the cheapest close hotel that got three stars (a little better quality than a two star hotel). They also offer discount tickets to SFGAdv which is about 25 minutes away. For the record, Seaside Heights is more than 15 minutes from SFGAdv and the rooms there are not cheap during the summer.
  12. I like Storm Runner and as far as Hershey goes, I like to refer to Hershey as the most complete amusement park.
  13. ^I have to disagree that SFGAdv dual coasters are more fun. 1 - Gemini is one of the most fun rides. It might not be the most thrilling but everyone comes off smiling. 2- Chiller: over the past three years how many days have both sides been run. I don't know the exact answer but "rarely" comes to mind 3 - Rolling Thunder has given a good ride in 10 years and again rare to both sides run and they never race. SFGAdv dual coasters might have more potential, but they are not more fun than CFs one dual coaster
  14. Cedar Point - with text back-up Although SFGAdv is my home park I thoroughly enjoyed my four trips to Cedar Point. I love the convenince of staying on site at The Breakers, and there are plenty of cheaper options close by. I love the atmosphere of the park and the attitudes of the clientele. The workers and friendly and the park is clean. Things SFGAdv promises to achieve but hasn't delivered consistently yet Although the flats at CP are not great I find them more enjoyable than SFGAdv. My favorites being MaxAir, Power Tower and the new Skyhawk are three flats that will be better than any at SFGAdv. I love the food options at CP. However, all this goes out the window because of El Toro - if El Toro lives up the hype that will be the way to go.
  15. Holiday World - It doesn't matter how big and the good the coasters are the park only has about 15 adult rides, it is small.
  16. Yes, Very good and Yes, worth hitting
  17. I visited in September of 2004. I did not encounter any problem with rude staff but operations were slow. I really enjoyed their flats selection. The setting is nice and easy to get to via public transportation if you are staying in the city. If you have a SF season pass you will have to go the the window to the left of the turnstiles to show your pass and they will give you a paper ticket (that's a billet, if Barry H is reading). I plan on going back one weekend this summer once Goliath opens
  18. I am going to collect a bunch, put them in a cardboard tube and run through Kings Island like they were architectural drawings.
  19. Just to close the loop on this. Someone at Guest Services did finally get back to me and I can pick up a coupon book at the Guest Services window. The guest services rep was a little unclear about the other group that would be in the park that day but confirmed there would be no general admission entry.
  20. thanks I left a message at the number but they have not returned my call yet, if need be I go alone or bring my brother-in-law. There is no law against leaving a 43 year old unattended outside the park.
  21. In year's past I got an e-mail about the park being open only for season pass holders but never got an e-mail this year. Did anyone get an e-mail they can cut and paste it here or PM me? It is listed on the Six Flags website as closed for a private event which I assume to be the season pass holder event. In year's past I think you were able to bring a guest also but I can't remember if that coupon was in the coupon book or if you could just bring someone. I have my season pass but haven't picked up the coupon book yet. I'd like to bring my 9 year old niece for a couple of hours before Easter dinner but I want to make sure I can get her in. I can't leave her at the front gate if I have to run in and get the coupon book first. thanks in advance for the help!
  22. forget Google go to Wikipedia.com and type in "roller coasters"
  23. dammit - I can't go to any parks! I'm going to the Final 4! GO GATORS
  24. for architecture I think Chicago (and SFGAm) and Montreal (LaRonde) are good options
