Theme Park Review's 2007 Group Trips!
larrygator replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Deguy123 - just get the deposit in and don't stress about it, there are a lot of people who seem excited and want to go but can't do it (too young, no money, no vacation time). Sending the deposit in is the one thing you can control, even people that were originally on the wait list last year got bumped up as people dropped off the trip There are a lot of people on this site, but not everybody can plan that far out. I remember last year coaster05, his wife and I didn't send our deposits in until pretty late, back when R&E were letting us know there were only 10 spots or so left. One of the reasons I went on the UK Trip versus waiting another year was that R&E were upfront and told everyone the first participants would have priority for future trips for being their guinea pigs. -

Then you should have ditched that Giants hat also while you were at. I agree that Ryan's friend is very brave not only for being in the video but just for being Ryan's friend. Dogs on a Bed are better than Snakes on a Plane -
Favorite Water Ride

Valhalla - If I said otherwise in the previous post I was wrong -
Herc - have you every been to Kennedy or LaGuardia? Newark is much better than either of them. All NY airports blow both at least the traffic around Newark is bearable.

thanks for reposting your comment Robb - I knew I wasn't hallucinating. I agree that El Toro and Voyage are both great rides, no argument here. However, if there are that close together and I have to pick only one, the operations would be the deciding factor for me. -

I feel better hearing that about the SFFT shows from you Robb. When I went opneing day in 2004 I could not catch a show as they had not started yet. At least they put this disclaimer on their site: Any well-traveled enthusiasts who wish to be considered for the 2007 survey can contact us by email at tbaldwin@amusementtoday.com or by postal mail. Amusement Today is eagerly interested in expanding our intenational participants. -

How about the fact that operations on El Toro absolutely blow? Both coasters being equal (which I think they are) I certainly would have cast my vote for the ones with far superior operations. -

Video TR: My Life Without TPR...

Ryan - you should stick to pounding trees. I so much wanted to hate it but actually it wasn't that bad. I was amused at times, but sometimes it dragged. The portion after the pillow fight was weak and leaves a bad last impression. Edited down to 4 minutes or so and might might build the cult following a little further. Not only was there no pounding, there was no cameo appearance by the Heinz t-shirt either. -
Flying Coasters!
larrygator replied to Ryan King's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really enjoyed Air. Before I rode, I know Robb and Jeff Johnson were pretty down on it but I enjoyed it more than the Flying Dutchman and S:UF. Sometimes when expectations are low a good ride just seems better. I really liked the swooping action that others didn't like and the closeness to the ground. With that said I'll be riding Tatsu in 5 weeks and hope it lives up to what others have said. -
Photo Trip Report: Crow Flies At Midnight

Cameron - Great TR Although I've only made it to IB once, I loved that place. Still one of my favorite parks. The flats are just incredible as is Frankenstein's Castle and the three woodies. Yes I enjoyed LoCoSuMo. -

Great Photo TR Chuck -
I was shocked to see FreeFall operatinfg on Monday afternoon, but it was. Newark is much closer to SFGAdv than JFK, The Philly Airport is probably you best bet after Newark. Traffic congestion from JFK to SFGAdv will not be pleasant.

Star-Flyers and Chair-O-Planes Fear
larrygator replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If a wave swinger breaks with the cable snapping you will most likely end up with broken bones and in a lot of pain. On a Star Flyer if your car/chair flys off you'll probably die a painless death. So go ride a Star Flyer
