Park Size

The hills at Holiday World got to me by the end of a hot day, but I didn't really mind Mt Olympus (except the entrance). Walking up the hill to S:UE at SFMM is the single most exhausting hill at any park. I don't like the current long walk from Thunderhead to Tennessee Tornado. I think the worst dead end at a park is the hill down to B:TR at SFoG. -
Knotts: Potential for Greatness
larrygator replied to ed_orangeco_cali's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I visited two days ago and found operations have become lax since my 2004 visit. I spent 3-4 hours there on a slow day, but should have been able to get all my rides done in 2 - 2 1/2 hours. The western side still has tons of charm and there is that huge disconnect with the other half of the park. Ride ops all around were not as friendly as my last visit but still far superior to SFMM. The deterioration of Ghostrider almost made me cry. I loved the out of control feel but not the accompanying pain. Rough does not have to equal pain. However, Ghostrider is still far superior to Psyclone. And the food is still much pretty good at Knotts -

Ever felt this way?

Obsessions come and go I used to be obsessed about playing with my winky Then I found roller coasters but got bored so I went back to my winky Then Niiicolaaah told me that everytime I play with my winky, God kills a kitten, so I went back to rollercoasters -
Another "if you felt this way" topic...

I certainly enjoy and appreciate the flats more as I become enthusiastical (new word). I always thought every Whip was the same until I made it to Camden. Flyers- hell I'd think the ones at Lake Compounce, SeaBreeze and Holiday World were good if I didn't know about Knoebels. Same for Bumper Cars. On my first 3 trips to Cedar Point I never rode Derby Racer, because to me it was a merry go round. Now I know a merry-go-round is really a carousel and Derby Racer is an all together different animal. I used to think all flats ran on the same cycle, being an enthusiast helps me to avoid certain flats at certain parks. Being an enthusiast allows me to take advantage of rides that locals might take for granted. I still don't know what half the elements are called on a coasters, I rarely know stats, I sometimes forget who built it, I can forget the layout even after riding a dozen times but in the end I know what I like and what I consider fun. I rarely buy park shirts or wear them to parks. I know where I've been and don't need to announce it to others. I AM AN ENTHUSIAST. -
Cedar Fair Maxx Passes
larrygator replied to larrygator's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^welcome to our world of confusion. The facts I have been able to ascertain are in the first post of the thread. Your 2006 Paramount pass should still be good at Paramount parks for 2006. However, a 2007 MaxxPass from a former Paramount Park will only be good at that Paramount Park in 2006, before being enabled at all CF parks in 2007. Buying a 2007 MaxxPass should not invalidate the 2006 pass. -

^ I don't know how it was in 2005, but in 2004 I had a Dorney Park Pass. at Cedar Point - I had to sign in at Cedar Point at Geauga Lake - I was able to scan the pass at Michigan's Adventure - went to Guest Service and they gave me a paper ticket that could be scanned at Valleyfair - Guest Services escorted me through their building through another door and into the park Elissa - if you can teach someone at Knotts to use the backspace maybe there is hope for TPR members to use spell check -
you need to leave a trail of skinless hot dogs, plain pasta and Mickey D's and Elissa will find you. Any other food trails you leave will attract Robb to your doorstep.

Cedar Fair Maxx Passes

So I called Knotts about 30 minutes ago to ask about their 2007 season passes and the availability of the Maxx Pass. The woman in customer service (Erin) had never heard of the Maxx Pass. -

I'd rather rather the caulking harden around my shower base, which is even less exciting than watching paint dry. -

^regarding the $80 add'l for the 5 gated waterpark, that certainly seems excessive. ^^^regarding CP not accepting 2007 Maxx Passes purchased at PKI. I can sort of understand for the following reason. CP appears to be the only park where if you buy their 2007 Maxx Pass, they will allow the bonus of using other parks in 2006. I guess Cedar Fair can justify this since CP will be charging the most for their Maxx pass. -

My apologies about PKI - that is the only website I don't check myself. This only adds to the inconsistency that I mentioned - I'll revise my original post. Also, not certain about Geauga Lake, it is not clear on their site if the 2007 Maxx Pass is good for other CF parks in 2007. -

^highly unlikely, I'm sure both parks will sell Maxx Passes. I just checked the PGA site and they do have an offer so I will update my post. KBF probably isn't concerned yet since they are a year round park, but they should be because I'm visiting soon. -
Methinks he is really a not so undercover professional beer taster. So Derek - you make refernece to not going to the conference in the end - did you just blow it off?
