Food before riding
Nrthwnd replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's been so, so long since I've experienced eating and theme parks w/coasters, altho the DisneyParis visits are, well.... let's just say, it's been a long, long time.... And with the UK Tour coming up in June, I do need to find out how much I can cope with, re:parks, rides, food, walking, etc. Which is why I'm getting the season pass for this season at Playland, and 'testing' myself every weekend it's open, starting Easter Weekend (Apr.14). Unfortunately it won't be open daily until after the Tour has started, but weekends will do for now, heh heh. There's a Burger King on the way to the park, which I will walk to from my house, by the way. Takes me probably a half hour to walk there, and BK is just past the half-way point there. And if I'm too "out-of-it" by the day's end, there's an easy one-route back with the bus to take, lol. So - I may try a meal deal or something on my way to the park, then hope for the best, LOL. We'll see. I would like to try once in awhile, some of the 'stuff' offered right there at Playland, tho. There's a (local legend) White Spot onsite, which has/had great burgers and fries, tho (still) a touch pricy. But that'll get me ready for Theme Park overly-priced food, hmmm? -

Yummy. Looks better and better with each posting of pix, lol. Can't wait to see it when it's finished, with the landscaping done, etc. -
Excellent Tom! Good to hear that. My birthday will signify five years without the evil weed... (not that weed, har har) Can't believe it's actually been that long w/o cigs. Considering how long I'd been smoking the wretched things. It also helps that you have someone with you, to help you thru 'stuff that happens' - and it will, believe me. Hang in there, lol! Go TOM GO!

And now that the weekend has passed.... How is we all doing here, in this thread here? Non-smoking, I hope?

Montezuma's Revenge
Nrthwnd replied to ParkTrips's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Known that, since the coaster opened in Knotts. Interesting that everybody accepted what it was called, in the right part of the park, the themeing, etc. Montezooma's Revenge, indeed. -
So far (touch wood), things I have sent to peeps in the States have arrived ok. And what they have sent to me, arrive fine, if a bit....... later than expected. I think it's the % of 'luck' in one's life, y'know? Ok then. So I will be sending yours off late Wed.morning (mine PST), alrighty? ~ ~ ~ ~

I usually, only eat at McDonalds not in my own town, lol. Just the way I am. Prefer Wendy's or Burger King, locally. And lately, it's been not in my own country either, heh heh. Altho, my reason for checking out a McDs in say, Paris or Amsterdam (or even Berlin a year and so, ago) isn't what they 'normally' sell. But to check out the 'local stuff' on it's menus, and maybe try something of that - with fries, lolol. Got a kick out of the French croquettes they sold there, in Paris McDs. Hmmm. Don't remember the Amsterdam ones..... wonder why....... Berlin? We hit a Burger King instead. ~ ~ ~ C ~ I did get to a London McDs way back in 1980 for a try. Euuuuuuu. I do hope they've found their way in improving the meat 'quality' of the burger. And no tainted beef jokes, mmm'k? That was a 1980 memory, for a Tres Lousay burger I will never forget, after all these many years, lol.

I'm not sure when the start of the "Disney Pin Trading" Logo... started. Pin trading started "officially" back in 2001 at WDW, but I don't think the Trader Logo was added until ...2003? And not all sets of pins, trading and non- seem to have that little 'marker.' At least, from a lot of the pins I've been getting on eBay... And as far as DLP pins go, that varies too I think. Am pretty sure the 'Disney" name has to be there somewhere. Then there's usually 'China' on them, too, from where they're made, lol. A number of already-bought pins from there in Oct.'04 have 'Disneyland RESORT Paris' on the back, as much as they can fit it. And a ©Disney in a spot, too. Hope that helps.

Then I am going to be lou-say at this, lolol. Ah well. I'll go with Orange. -
Are you a coastertool or a coasterfool?
Nrthwnd replied to rollermonkey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Interesting. I am Vote#33 of the votes, counted. Hmmm. Anyway, I hover around (roughly, pretty sure) the 86 mark, before I take in the UK Tour this June. My first steel was most-likely the DL Matterhorn. At age 10. First invert was Corkscrew at Knott's in '75. First wood was the Playland Coaster, here at home. -
^ Look at it this way, Allison. There are 8 of you, in and around here somewhere who at least register in this poll, lol. And somewhere else around here in TPR country, three women-loving-women, who aren't registering %-wise at all here on the Poll, are wandering, wandering... I do hope they find each other, and others of their.....ilk. Ilk? Hmmm.

SFMM trivia
Nrthwnd replied to colossus's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Actually - it was the '99 Steam Train that ran around most of the (now) Colossus area. And there was an Animal Farm right beside the train route, too. -
Noted.

The French countryside... Close to Disneyland Paris (I do like some themeing with my parks), and train access to the rest of Europe and all it's parks. True original French food is amazing. And the wine. And the cheese. And bread. Yum.

No contest - and am surprised nobody though of it, before... The Disneyland MATTERHORN BOBSLEDS Ride I mean, I'd probably get the patents & copyrights of thist first-ever tubluar steel wonder of fun, fun, fun? Hmmm? And - of course since it was mine, we'd go back to the original single cars too, lolol! But I'd keep Old Abby too (snowman), "just because..."
