Maelstrom™ Ride @ EPCOT™
Nrthwnd replied to Envy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think its called "You're a lifetime Journey." Its the song where the guy sings in english and the lady in french. I think its hilariosuly bad. Disney Guilty Pleasure - I have the (gasp) 33-1/3 LP record album of The EPCOT Soundtrack (at the time - circa.1987) with that cheesy little number on it - national anthem indeed, Erik! () The whole album is pretty bizarre, with songs for The Land Pavillion, Imagination, Energy, and a few of the countries w/'theme songs' to them, like (gulp) Ca-na-da, hee hee hee. But - there is the original song to the Land's infamous animatronic Food Show there, back then - "Veggie Fruit Fruit"!!! - before "Food Rocks," LOLOL. -
Yes. Do you like root beer?

I collect pins with certain themes to them, like others. I buy pins to trade, mainly based on cost per pin and 'probable interest' in it, etc. And I don't pay a lot for pins to trade, either. If you can buy a pin that looks like it cost more than you bought it for - great! And Stitch is definitely a hit over there in DizzyParee tooo, lolol! So is Da Buzz, heh heh. I have to buy most of mine from the US eBay sellers, and some of the pins I bring to DisParis are totally foreign to a lot of the CMs. But they're definitely intrigued when it comes to certain ones. And I have gone thru my first-ever major run of buying, prior to the '04 visit. Now I am just buying for myself with 'occasional spot buying' when i see pins that are probable good bets for trading with kids and CMs. And I have enough pins left over from the '04 trip, to help start me up for the (eventual) Spring'07 visit - Happy 15th Birthday DLPR! And I sitick to my theme groups, w/o going overboard thankfully. I have unique theme likes, too, y'know. Like Scary Teddy, from NBC... ~ ~ ~ Oh - here's one I would really like to get. A bit of a loose one, as it pops up from time to time.... I start bidding on it, then lose it. Ah well..... circa.2001 - DLP Halloween pin. Glow. I want.

Dive Machines? What are your thoughts?
Nrthwnd replied to downunder's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, Alton's is the Father (or is that Mama?) Dive Machine, so they did what they could for the first one, hmm? I am sooooooo looking forward to this one, yum yum. Seen it thru all of the posted online building pix etc. Remembering the "big secrecy" over what the f--- it actually was, and it's name etc. All kewl memories for something I haven't ridden.... yet. -
I think my 'falling off wagon' last year, about same time, probably/possibly kick-started my weight gain thru all those months. Once (and after) I stopped again. Hmmmph. That's most times the biotch of quitting; controlling weight and food, etc.etc. Hang in there, tho, no matter what the bod does, it's better than cancer any time, hmm? Yay all you quitters out there!

When I did DisParis back in Oct.'04, I had two lanyards on, as it was during (ahem) Halloween month, lol. One for the Boo pins - the other for the 'regular' ones. (o: ~ ~ ~ So, I stayed alert and always looked for kids that had lanyards, with their parents, and then let them trade with me. It was fun, they loved it, and the parent were appreciative of my taking the time to go thru trading with their kids. ~ ~ ~ And I had extras in a sidebag with me (will bring that on the UK trip) for "reloading" should I need to, lol. I also only did the weekdays, cause the weekends were just way too crowded (at my visits' time) to deal with pin trading, etc. Same cast members (from weekdays) I ran into in shops with their pins, on the weekends were in total (probable) stress modes and looked like they did not want to even try trading, heh heh.

^ That's wild, Derek! I had two "regularly-sold" (at that time) turtles, named (woo hoo) Timmy & Tommy. The two goldfish got a name better deal, thru my mom - Scotch & Soda! How big did he get to be?

And by the way Nic..... Good little VD TR. I haven't seen a good drag show for several years now. There was a wonderful place here in town called BJ's that ran for years and years, with amazingingly rehearsed full-out shows and some of the best impersonators and drags, around. Loved it. Miss it alot, still. Thanks for sharing your day/night. We played it quiet at home with just dinner and tv. But - I 'got' David w/o really trying, by icing 'hearts' on the turnovers with the icing that came in the Pillsbury kit - hah! Small surprise, heh heh.

OMG! That's (sad but) amazing. Nothign against the actor - but haaaaated that commercial with that yelling screaming thing in a skirt there. OOps pardon - kilt. Bite me. Sorry he was a 'bad boi' huh? Never know with peeps, huh?

Maelstrom™ Ride @ EPCOT™
Nrthwnd replied to Envy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Historical Triv on this attraction is basically - its's the first log flume ride to go backwards, back when it was built. That's what it's about, to me, about Maelstrom. That and a nice quick fun ride thru somewhat ambiguous history of Norway. The five minute film is nice too, for a first-time. But, once you've seen it, that's that. Do they allow at all any bypassing nowadays thru the movie theatre? I had heard that they didn't allow it at one time, then did, and then...? ***By the way - if you want a good film experience in World Showcase, France is hard to beat with extra-comfy seats, a great soundtrack and sound system, and almost-Soarin' filmwork thru the French countryside. Still, one of WS better attraction pavillions. IMhO -
^ Yeah darnit. I have the full set from last year, and wanted to keep on collectin' lol. I have the Tiki Room already from last month. And yes, the Pirates and definitely Toad will be instant sell outs I have no doubt. It's interesting how except for the first pin last year (20KL) the whole year was pretty easy to buy the first set of pins, month to month. For me, anyway. Now, well, it's just blown up and what can ya do, hmm? Poop.

Well, hmmmmph. Just got an amail back - 'bout the SELL OUT of the PofH2 pins' Haunted Mansion, and that whom I "bought one from," thru eBay - well, they didn't get any pins. At all. Sold out in 6 hours this morning... So - am getting a PayPal refund back. Woo hoo. And they're already posting at Buy It Nows for $30+ up to $45 and probably beyond, soon. Each. Disgusting, the profit that's going to be made, there. Oh well, there goes getting a full set.... for now. The Pin In Question....
