Back in September, we were at a wake for a dear friend who had passed away in July. Somebody caught me with booze in my hand, end of story. Here's to you, Sakino! We miss you every day, sweetie.

^They look like fun. Both of them! Is the soundtrack what you hear on the train? It's nice and bouncy, almost stuck in my head, heh. -
Playland/PNE (Vancouver) Discussion Thread

Emojis 'R Us! A couple of years ago, Playland decided to go with the current trend involving emoticons, for their ads. The ads are self-explanatory. And most are gross, as is usual with some Playland ads, lol. NEWS! They've extended the Car-B-Q Event to the following weekend, 27/28th! Custom Car Show will not be happening during this wknd. Check out details at http://www.pne.ca (2018) I would like to think this was an actual setup on the PNE grounds. And emojis on the floor is a very nice touch. (o: And happening again, this coming weekend. -
^ You take your chances, when you are dealing with looong distance delivery. Speaking of delivery, we have been tempted to order something that accommodates home delivery, by a lot of local companies offering such a service. We do know the usual 'minimum' order is $20, which is fine for us. But with burgers and such, we'll have to pick a local, somewhat pricey place to order from... But that'll be okay. We'll get fries & onion rings, too.

We Went To Universal Orlando!
Nrthwnd replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think just the 'tilt' of Elissa's head, in a few of those photos, really says a lot w/o words. Great Universal TR, Robb. But sorry to read elsewhere, that (so far) SeaWorld wasn't such a great visit for you. Hope that the return visits, turn out much better. -
Kristen, do/did you have a specific ride or coaster you wanted to ride first, when going back to any of the parks, in Florida?

Walibi Holland Discussion Thread

^^ They should auction all those bears (and the sloths, too) off for charity, like "Give Kids The World" or a European equivalent. Have tags attached stating these are the real Walibi Holland Riders! And the rides they have ridden, etc. Would be fun to have one of those, knowing they'd ridden UNTAMED, and the swings. -
^ It will be a $$$$ of a delivery charge, LOL!

^ Then, there are those idiots, that "drift" through a stop sign, and don't even stop, unless they absolutely have to. Then if they do stop, they're stuck with the front half of their car beyond the sign, and possibly blocking oncoming traffic on the cross street. Grrrrrrr.

^ Very impressive about that Phantom audition and those numbers! Musicals help the world heal in marvelous ways, no matter where we live in the world. I still love hearing how Japan LOVED "Fiddler" - it was "so normal and local," they said!

Thanks for all these great ongoing Retro Updates, Chuck. Brings back my own personal awesome memories of some of these tours we've shared, with Elissa, Robb, and Kristen. Us in Wonder Rakutenchi park. 2007 Japan Tour. -

Construction continues on the new Fantasy Springs in TDS... The Tangled attraction show building rises. I am hoping that this tall section of the building, will be for the big lanterns-in-the-sky scene, from the movie. In perspective...Tangled is in back-left, and to the right is Peter Pan's GI-normous show building. Thanks to whoever took these shots, from the wonderful Tokyo Disneyland Monorail! (o: -

*** "Ummm...I'll have the Volvo, just when the paint job on it...smokes a bit." ~ From the (unheard of) recipe book, "Cars-on-Spits." Not really. But, I tried. I really did. THIS JUST IN! The PNE has come up with another "Taste of The PNE" - with BBQ and Poutine. Yum! Here's the info and the link. It runs this coming weekend, June 18-21st...Father's Day Weekend! And I am curious, as to how this "classic & custom car show" is being run. I have the feeling , it will be a drive-by kind of thing. And I am also pretty sure, that a lot of these cars have already been "on display" during a previous PNE. Which is cool. The ones that stand out more, and can be easily seen from cars, will be the ones on display. https://ticketleader.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventList?groupCode=TPNE&linkID=tktldr&shopperContext=&caller=&appCode= Maybe this (?) custom car will be one of The Ones on display, during CAR-B-Q. Here are three Playland ads that aren't just "outdoor ads." They're pretty unique, and two of them take billboard advertising to a new level of wierdness, lol. The one in the middle .... well, I just wish I was downtown to see these "ads" for The Beast, when it opened in 2015. Enjoy. (1999) (2015) (2017) And no, your eyes aren't out of focus. -
Fixed. And yes. The Keg is actually our fave steakhouse - ever. ************************************************ "Does your chewing gum lose it's flavor, on the bedpost, overnight?"
