  1. And a Happy 15th Birthday, TPR Forums! too. Valentines Hugs to All! Playland(PNE) circa.1950's ~ Vancouver Archives Playland(PNE) 2013 ~ Gay Day at Playland PNE Grounds August 30th, 2019 ~ Out At The Fair Day ~ An Awesome Day, it was!

  3. Happy 15th Birthday, TPR Forums!
  4. Great ongoing tour of everything you saw, and bought, Bert! Tokyo and Japan has so much, too much at times, things to see and experience. But I think you've now proven to Elissa, that a "certain Panda" is not all cuddly and cute.... Evil, evil, evil! "Yes, I am looking at you, Elissa." TPR 2012 China Tour.
  5. ^ Judging by the Space Factory's depiction of a rocket ship..... Viagra in that bottle, perhaps?
  6. I think it'd be awesome, if they did a complete renovation of everything surrounding all the attractions. And updating all the buildings etc. Landscaping, lighting and water features, too. An Entire Park Renovation. Now that, to me, would be a great thing to do for their Big 50th Anny in 2021! But to everybody else, it's most likely a Big Ride/Coaster/Food they're wanting.
  7. So here's the deal with this week's The Masked Singer... and BTW.... yes we do enjoy it, and yes it's over the top, and yes it actually has some fun moments in it, especially when they unmask a singer who nobody guessed (i.e. Drew Carey, Kelly Osborne), including us. That said WTF is going on with this White Tiger person? Yes he's probably a sports player, probably football from how they've tried to figure him out. And - HE DOES NOT SING. At all. This past episode proved it. But he's winning by being "entertainig." SPOILER ALERT Again WTF??? It's the Masked 'Singer,' not 'Entertainer.' He should be able to sing... some how. Yes? No? Three capable singers got ousted this season so far, including this week's Chaka Khan (!), because of his "aw gee me, let's all clap along" antics. And it's time for the audience to get smarter and VOTE - HIM - OUT, VOTE - HIM - OUT, VOTE - HIM - OUT, as "entertainingly fun" as he is. What Ever.
  8. ^ & ^^^ Great photos, all of these!
  9. ^ Very nice. I would love to have a pinball place to hang out and play games, etc. At my age, hah! They closed one of the two arcades, where you won tickets and then collected for shelf prizes. But no pinball machines were to be found. I think it would be a perfect themed retro nod to the pinball age, in this new retrofit of Playland(PNE) in the coming years, to do something with that building, now. With pinball games. Better than that, a parlor/space like you suggested, not on the PNE grounds. The Fun Centre was fun no more, last year. But they still put out capsule machines!
  10. Twisted Colossus Six Flags Magic Mountain (Valencia, California, United States) WCB, Sept.10/2016. (Four coasters in one shot, actually.)
  11. ^ How eerie to see that. I also noticed, up in the top right corner there, where the land is still clear for the ZOOTOPIA attraction/land to go. Between Pooh and The Dwarfs Mine Train.
  12. Vending machines in Japan are awesome! No matter what they're selling in them, you keep staring at them, TRYING to figure out which (i.e. ice cream) product is which, etc. I love the challenge, heh. Great Last Solo Day you had, there! Thanks for sharing it with us. Love the shots of nature and landscaping, where you find it, or "run into it".
  13. Confucius Say: Not All Theme Park Tickets/Passes Are Created 'Equal'. Bad silly comment, I know. Bad bear.
  14. Queen Bee - Botton's Pleasure Beach, UK.
  15. ^ I just viewed a half minute video of the new marquee, lit up at night. And I really love the way it really reflects what neon used to be really good at, when it came to making and designing signs for actual businesses (YAY Carsland in DCA!). Vancouver used to have an amazing amount of 'moving signs' in neon, all over the downtown area, before either they broke down (and restoring was mucho $$$) and/or the business went out of business. That said, I can't wait to see it in the distance as I "enter the Studios one evening". Just like a Kingdom Castle at the end of a Main Street... Without a GIANT CAP in the way of seeing it. Could you imagine what the heck they'd have to (not) design if that Sorcerer's Cap was never removed? Giant Sorcerer's Cap fanbois take note, please?
  16. ^ Yeah, I'm sorry I didn't follow their response with, "If you only have the one train running, and only the one train to begin with, what will happen if it stalls or something happens like last year? Will the whole coaster shut down for the season? And/Or are you getting additional trains built, now or soon?" Something like that. Guess we'll find out, when it's running this coming season. In the meantime, here's a link to Playland's own great description of it's beloved Coaster... https://www.pne.ca/rides/wooden-roller-coaster/ Currently, the yellow train is the only train remaining, of the original three trains (w/red and purple). EDIT to add: This year, Coaster turns 62 years old! One of the postcards from the 50th Anniversary Set of Coaster cards. (2008)
  17. ^ First, that foodplate looks great! Second, that Jurassic Boat Ride kinda looked like several ...um... dark rides I remember riding in Japan. Nothing wrong with that. A few of them in China, too. Third, that Junior Trabant/WipeOut looks like it'd perfect for our park, Playland(PNE). We already have a Mini-Spinner coaster here (called 'Bug Whirled') which is fun for kids and the adults, too. This would be a great addition. Great TR of Pigeon Forge! So much stuff there, I had no idea. Looking forward to more of your adventures!
  18. A new article has been posted, on everything they're going to do/build at PNE and Playland. This article was posted after the Info. Sessions, held at the beginning of this month. https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/playland-redevelopment-theme-park-pne It also re-posts some past art concepts of areas to be created for the park.
  19. ...and Disney has also just posted night time photos of the new Runaway Railway marquee, with it's lights on.
  20. Listening to the entire soundtrack of Aquaman, here. The movie is over a year old, but I remember while watching it how beautiful the music was. Took me a while, but I finally got a copy, and so far, it's not disappointing me.
