Playland/PNE (Vancouver) Discussion Thread

^ There are also several of them now gone in Europe, too. I got to ride the ones in Alton Towers & Flamingo Land in the UK, and Holiday Park in Germany, before they were removed. I liked Super Wirbel (in Holiday Park) the best, as they allowed trees and greenery inside and around it, making it impossible to see the entire coaster. Super Wirbel in Holiday Park (RIP). Photo by Big Mike, thanks! -

^ Agreed. This test version of Rocking Boat looks small enough, it could be enclosed in a show building for maximum theming and effects, i.e. "Stormy Weather". And you would get wet, lol! "It was a dark and stormy night"... -

After the Information Session I attended earlier today (and will post about, tomorrow), I went up to the park and took a few photos of "the space" where Corkscrew occupied. I also found out, at the Session, that nobody bought Corkscrew, even after they reduced the original price. But due to it's still being in a prime spot for the future redevelopment of Playland, they decided to dismantle it altogether.... And so, they did. Corkscrew was over there, somewhere. Not much to see there, any more. Nothing but some rubble, now. -

Just found this information about Fantasy Springs' opening year being changed... Quote is from themeparkinsider.com ~ And I found the announcement from OLC itself... http://www.olc.co.jp/en/news/news_olc/20200130_2e_01/main/0/link/20200130_02e.pdf (OLC also announced price increases for tickets and passes to the parks, starting this April.) I'm glad that (so far) we're planning a visit in 2025. -

^^ Hah, I was going to add to my post that they might be including stickers with the different parks' names. I didn't notice that in the corner, honestly. Till you noted it. Cool that they've included that. -
^ LOL. Our having a cat named Stella makes for an interesting "call" when she's outside in the neighborhood.... "Stellaaa!"

Tokyo Disney has just posted a photo of one of the new ride vehicles that will be part of the Baymax Happy Ride in Tomorrowland. Not showing a lot, but what one can see, looks nice and shiny! -

^Not much has been actually posted about what they're doing for that attraction. And whatever altered (future?) maps that have shown up online, seem to still show the Canyon on them. So keeping the entire Canyon is probably still in the rumor stage. Eventually, we'll find out. -

I'm curious as to how they'll re-theme Catastrophe Canyon as part of the new "Cars themed" Route 66 attraction. I mean, it's going to look a bit wierd with that tanker truck(?) with eyes, mouth etc. reacting to the "catastrophe" happening. But also fun, yes? They may even tone down the intensity, for families. Or not. I'll bet they even figure out where to put the Rust-eze logo on the truck, LOL. Photo from the net. -

Interesting that the Legoland Playset has "Billund" (the original park in Denmark) on it's entrance sign. Wonder if most parents will be able to explain what that means, to their kids. Great tour of the park (and the food) during Ninjago Days. Thanks for sharing your visit, Adam. -
