Viper? At SFGAm? That's probably the smoothest traditional wooden coaster in operation... -

Believe it or not, many GP like "big" coasters just as much, if not more than enthusiasts. (They're just not uber-nerdy about it. ) -

Have any of you guys ridden The Beast this season? The park actually retracked many sections of the ride over the off-season and it has been running heavenly since April. I was very impressed! -

From my experience, the "midcourse surprise" is intensified ten-fold in this seat. I visited SFOT for the first time last month and was blown away by Runaway Mountain. Airtime, strong forces, and a crazy, surprising layout all in complete darkness. I hate to overhype it, but it's probably my second favorite coaster in the park. -
Really, it's still pretty rough--at least, KI's has been for the last few years. I don't really understand it, considering every other Premier coaster I've ridden is incredibly smooth.

Ugh, I MUST get to the West Edmonton Mall! I've always been fascinated with that place. Though you noted the spinner didn't spin very much, what did you think of the layout? Any good? Great collection of reports. I had no idea that Calaway is such a well-developed park. It looks like a great place to spend a few fun hours.

How dare Hollywood filmmakers inaccurately portray amusement park operations in their movie about a nerd and a Twinkie-addicted redneck surviving a zombie apocalypse! -

Don't miss out on Runaway Mountain (the indoor coaster) and request to sit in the second-to-last row. You'll see. -
I'm not talking about anything other than the hills and drops and spinning on Reese's compared to the monospeed, flat track of all the other shoot-em-ups. I don't understand how you could argue that a well-themed interactive dark ride with the latter style of track could be more exciting than a well-themed interactive dark ride with the former. But to each his own.

SeaWorld San Diego (SWSD) Discussion Thread
DBru replied to CoasterJunkie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Though the rare incidents that have occurred are horrific and sad, we should keep in mind that the SeaWorld trainers know exactly what they are getting themselves into when they take their positions. They don't do what they do for the money--they do it because they love it, and I feel safe in saying that even those who fall victim would never want the shows to be cancelled, causing many to cease relationships with the animals they adore and millions to miss out on the experience of a lifetime. -

My only problem with them reusing Leviathan is the inconvenience it will cause us. Typing Leviathan (CP) and Leviathan (CW) would be such a hassle. ( ) -
My small county fair (a rinky-dink carnival that usually has a small Ferris wheel, sizzler, tilt-a-whirl, swings, and sometimes a Gravitron) brought a miniature Top Spin to town this year. I was shocked--it was fun and immensely popular.

Hate to burst your bubble, but unless you feeling like sprinting to Mammoth as soon as the water park opens, your looking at a line of AT LEAST an hour for Mammoth and slightly less for Wildebeest. Mammoth has been drawing mammoth lines and attracting more people back to that corner of the water park...meaning lines for Wildebeest haven't decreased by much, if at all.
