Six Flags Over Texas (SFOT) Discussion Thread

Disney has been doing these pouches for years. I've never understood why other parks haven't caught on to such an ingenious idea. -

Roller Soaker was always at the very bottom of my steel list. It was rough, boring, and had awful capacity. I say good riddance! -
Baha! I deserve it.

Got asked out by a very attractive news reporter for my city earlier this week. We really hit it off, so I'm excited for this. I'm going 5 years older...which does seem like quite a lot...but we'll see how it goes!

Here's a shameless attempt to get some views from anyone who enjoys classic Christmas/gospel songs. This was last Sunday, the day before I got my tonsils out. Now I'm laid up in bed for a week with nothing to do but sit with this lap top! Haha. Hope you all enjoy it!

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Clark: Since this is Aunt Bethany's 80th Christmas, I think she should lead us in the saying of Grace. Aunt Bethany: What dear? Nora: Grace! Aunt Bethany: Grace? Ohhh...She passed away thirty years ago... Uncle Lewis: They want you to say grace.... [straining his face to mouth the words] The BLESS-ING!!! Aunt Bethany: Oh. [everyone at the table folds their hands in prayer and reverently bows their heads] Aunt Bethany: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands - one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Clark: Amen. National Lampoon's Vacation Aunt Edna: You're the ones who sent me the fruitcake for Christmas. It made me so sick! Ellen Griswold: Oh - we're sorry. We thought you enjoyed fruitcake. Aunt Edna: Do you enjoy throwing up every five minutes Claude? Clark: Clark. Aunt Edna: I thought so. Whew! Well am I gonna eat, or am I gonna starve to death?

The difference between this and RRRocket is that the latter loads 12 rows at a time while utilizing the continuously moving system. The NTG loads 1 row at a time with the train moving at a VERY slow pace compared to the old system of loading 12 rows at a time with the train at a standstill. I don't see how this is any more efficient at all. Also, how does unloading work? -
Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

Then why waste money on installing it at all? I don't understand this line of thinking. It's not about the boomerang--it's the principal involved. Are guests who visit the park on opening weekend less valued than those who visit during peak season? Why should they have to pay the same admission price for a lesser experience? I just can't believe so many of you are adamant about defending Six Flags on this issue. Who cares if other chains have rides with delayed openings (though most others are usually justified/unintentional)? This discussion is about Six Flags, and the fact that they fail to ever open a ride on time reflects negatively on them as a company. If you're going to argue with that...I'm convinced you're arguing just to argue. -

^I'd say it's not a choice. The ride is just in too poor of condition to restore it. -

I don't know why people are making excuses for Six Flags. It's a boomerang. They should've had ample time to get it up by opening day. -

I feel that a system like this would only work with an efficient, caring, well-trained staff. From my experience, most ride ops at SFOT have none of these qualities. -

That turn sure looks heavily banked... -
That's because SFMM's target audience is thrill seekers. I hate when people say things like this. It's like saying more light scenes should be added to a Freddy Kruger movie to make it more family friendly. Also, the park just added another small coaster and there is actually plenty for families to do there, already. In your opinion. Believe it or not, many, many guests find airtime to be the worst feature of roller coasters. I know a lot of my friends can't stand the "stomach drop feeling" (which I haven't experienced for years ) that comes with going over/down hills. This one's gotta be a joke. One of the last major coaster additions was a wooden coaster. They already have a giant wooden coaster with large hills and wide turns and another with a compact-ish, twisting layout. How adding another woodie highly contribute to the variety of the coaster collection and/or provide a marketable experience? No. You're stretching. Really stretching. Alright, you win one. Lol None of us have even ridden one of these yet. Of course Outlaw Run LOOKS great...but we should still probably wait and see. I think it looks like fun. Sorry to pick apart your posts...but surely you can admit that a lot of this was just a desperate reach for things to complain about. Full Throttle is going to be fine and I'd be willing to bet that most people who ride it will like (if not love) it.

Insufficient restraints on coasters
DBru replied to mattnz's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Same here. I love chair lifts...but I hate them too because the "restraints" are so darn sketchy. -

I don't really understand the "really fast construction" comments... Haven't they put up, like, 2 sections of the lift hill?
