  1. Ahhh I love Christmas lights. I think it should be a law that every house has to put them up for Christmas. Congrats on your win!
  2. ^Eh. What did Arrow ever do that was really visually appealing? Haha
  3. I was actually slightly disappointed by the drop. It wasn't bad in any way, but I was expecting it to be brutal and I ended up getting less airtime than I get on B&M hypers (although it might just have been the seats that I took, though). It already has the length and making it vertical wouldn't harm it at all, I think. Try sitting in the back. It isn't sudden ejector. It builds up to the point where for a bit, you feel like you'll fly up to Canada. I rode Maverick before MF so I thought MF's first drop is not as intends as I thought. Probably the point of MF's tamed experience is that GP can through their hands up and enjoy it instead of holding for their dear life on those intense rides. Also keep in mind that when Millennium Force opened, that drop was one of the steepest in the world (with only Oblivion's being steeper, I believe) and by far the most intimidating.
  4. ...you're universally regarded as an easy person to shop for because they know you'll love anything with a coaster on it.
  5. I need one of those for my living room.
  6. I was just naming a few of the larger, more spread out inverts. You're right that Flight Deck is older...but I mean, only 3 new inverts have been built in the US since 2000, so I'm not really sure what our definition of "new school" would be.
  7. -The loop was so intense, some guy snapped his neck. -Geez, are you positive?
  8. Well, this part isn't exactly true. If the operator is actually behind the cause of the "set-up," said operator will receive an operational. However, if the ride sets up due to the cause of a guest (and this is usually the case), it will be recorded as a "guest operational," and doesn't get counted against the employee.
  9. Went to see Anchorman 2 tonight. Being a huge fan of the first film, I had quite high expectations for this one, and I came out really disappointed. Of course there are some highlights, but overall, I felt like most of the jokes fell flat and it didn't really seem like anyone involved really cared about how the movie turned out. It's obvious that they had fun making it, though.
  10. I think it was also around this time period--maybe a little later--when Thunder Run's trains literally looked (and felt) like they were falling apart. Multiple rows were blocked off for broken lab bars, grab bars were missing all over the train, the seatbelts looked like they could snap with a little tug, and the lap bars that did "work" were wobbly and missing pieces of foam. Ah, those were the days...
  11. I would lower the giant camelbacks on Millennium Force so that the coaster would consistently provide strong airtime. I would also add a second bunny hop where the long flat section of track that runs along the queue is, right before the last over bank. With this change, the ride's finale would be close to perfection. Tunnel, bunny hop, quick banked turn, bunny hop, overbank, super-fast breaks. Sounds heavenly.
  12. I don't really think this is a fair argument to make, though. In general, most Batman clones reside in parks that have since built multiple signature attractions, so these coasters aren't main draws anymore. However, the larger, less forceful inverts, like Silver Bullet, Afterburn, Flight Deck, ect. are still some of the signature attractions in their respective parks, and therefore have retained more of their ridership.
  13. That may be my new favorite YouTube video, ever...
  14. Early plans for Banshee/Mantis also had the second half of the ride (compact section after the MCBR) enclosed.
  15. No no no, Deluge is a great ride! If I'm not mistaken, it was one of, if not the first of ProSlide's most brilliant creation's. But saying that Chaos was replaced by it is just wrong. Chaos was replaced by a big, circular smoking section. A few years later, the park built Deluge and it's last turn just happens to sit on top of a small part of Chaos' old plot. There's a difference there.
  16. I know this is a different kind of musical, but if you haven't seen Disney's "Frozen" yet, I highly recommend you get out to a theater to see it. Not only is it one of the best mainstream animated movies ever, but the music and some songs in particular are incredible. The main character is voiced by Idina Menzel, which should be enough to convince you that I'm telling the truth.
  17. Here are a few pictures from my awesome summer at Cedar Point, including one of me at the top of Magnum's lift and a couple photos of the best Millennium Force crew that ever was!
  18. This might be sad, but I can't stop listening to "Let It Go" from Disney's Frozen. It's bound to be an Oscar winner, I tell ya.
  19. In 2004, Intamin debuted their new style of thin-strapped shoulder restraints on Storm Runner at Hersheypark, making Top Thrill Dragster the last Intamin still coaster in the Western Hemisphere to feature a T-bar restraint. Every North American Intamin steel coaster has featured this style of restraint up until last year, when Intamin debuted a new type of over-the-shoulder lap bar on Hersheypark's Skyrush.
  20. How about this new Zierer coaster in Austria that's literally as big as the park it's in?
  21. Um...it is a vertical drop. According to the laws of physics, that's negative g's right there. Plus on days when it is cresting quickly...WHOA BOY Should have worded myself a bit better there. I've ridden TTD all across the train and I don't ever remember getting airtime. I'm not a big fan of TTD, and the only reason I even ride it is because I want to get a rollback. I probably wouldn't ride it again after that. It vibrates way too much on the launch. Maybe you just don't remember this aspect of the ride? Because it's literally impossible not to experience airtime on TTD's top hat...I mean, that's just how it was designed. Unless every time you've ridden it you've come incredibly close to getting that roll back and the train absolutely crawled over the top hat...but even then, physics would imply that you would've experienced negative g's on the entrance and exit of convexity.
