Duinrell, Drievliet or Efteling
Looty replied to sibbi89's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You should be able to do both Drievliet and Duinrell in the same day. I personally liked Duinrell a lot more than Drievliet. I think the overall experience at Duinrell is way better (although Drievliet has wild chickens ). Even without a car, you can catch a bus/tram to both parks from Den Haag Centraal. I think the bus ride is around 20 minutes to Duinrell and the tram to Drievliet took about 10-15 minutes. -
That park looks a lot like Mt. Olympus

Very cool! I would love to give that a try

Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread
Looty replied to the_rock401's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would usually agree with the argument that Snoopy is an outdated brand, but I think Snoopy is a perfect fit for Valleyfair! A Planet Snoopy addition would be 100x better than the current kids offerings at the park and it would also put a face on the park for many families in the area. Snoopy does have a special place in the hearts of Minnesotans and I believe most will embrace the addition. I was working at Camp Snoopy when they terminated the Peanuts contract and it really did upset a lot of people. There were news stories every week, guests would always ask me why when they got on my ride, etc. It seemed like people actually cared. I think the park has a tremendous opportunity to capture a larger market share with a Planet Snoopy addition. At the same time, I think expectations will be quite high and Planet Snoopy will be often be compared to the old Camp Snoopy. Don't mess this up, Valleyfair! Plus, the only character that the park has is Colonel Oohmpapa (I really don't care to look up the correct spelling ) and he scares more kids than he entertains. -
Any updates coming? I am thinking about doing the college program so its good to hear from others. What ride did you work?

^&^^Thanks for your help...I really do appreciate it. I think if we do indeed start at Studios then we shouldn't have a problem doing both parks in the same day. -

I think Apollo's Chariot is a lot of fun in the backseat, and I like Hollywood Dream, too. The worst of the bunch, to me, at least, is Silver Star, Europa Park's only real bummer (it's just kind of boring, even though it looks incredible). Haha...it's funny you say that because I visited Europa Park 2 weeks ago and thought Silver Star was actually pretty good despite the not-so-enthusiastic reviews. To each their own, right? -
Disneyland Paris (DLP) Discussion Thread

Hi Guys, I will be at Disneyland Paris mid-July with a friend and am looking for a few pointers as well. First, I realize that it will be quite busy. Unfortunately, my friend and I will only have one day to spend there and we are not staying on property. We realize that we probably will not be able to see/do everything so we just want to make the best of what time we will have. We are going to buy the "magic pass" (1 day park hopper) and check out both parks. The big rides will take priority over the shows and parades. From what I am reading so far, I am thinking that we will start at Studios first and try and hit up Crush right away. I also read somwhere that you can have multiple fastpasses for different rides at the same time so perhaps we will do a lap first and collect fastpasses? Basically, what rides at both parks typically have the worst lines (thus get a fastpass)? Would it be wise to start at Studios? Any suggestions at all are greatly appreciated. Thanks! -

Thanks for sharing! I just love that park...although I just don't understand why Apollo's Chariot is so highly regarded. I honestly think it is the worst of the B&M hypers that I have been on (all of them with the exception of Hollywood Dream). -
Nice report and photos. That pet check looks terribly depressing though. I don't think I would leave my dog there. As for STR, I have yet to ride it so I really shouldn't judge but it just doesn't appeal to me all too much. I actually love log rides but I think this one looks a little boring.

Fantastic report! Thank you so much for sharing this. I would absolutely love to visit that part of the world someday. I have travelled alone before too but I think I would be WAY too intimidated to travel to Singapore & Malaysia by myself...props to you! -

Nice report! I look forward to seeing more. I think Dutch people are some of the nicest people in Europe. I have been studying (and riding roller coasters ) in the Netherlands since January and have yet to meet a single jackass! That's great that those guys were awesome enough to help you out. I ran into a similar problem with the Toverland shuttle on my visit and some nice woman let me use her phone. -
