  1. ^Bingo! The land underneath NU is dirt. The basement of the mall basically runs along the exterior of the park...so they can definitely dig down if they so desire.
  2. I visited Toverland in February of last year and everything was open!...even the log chute
  3. Hey Bas! Report is looking good so far. I'm jealous you scored the Katun credit
  4. There's something about some of these crappy-looking asian parks that strikes excitement in me...it's as if you may actually die on their rides!
  5. Thanks for sharing! Toverland is such an awesome, unique little park. Definitely one of my favs!
  6. Lovin the TR...Keep it going, please Happy Valley looks quality!
  7. WAY jealous of this trip! I need to marry someone rich so I can go on a trip like this! The GCI looks amazing, too!
  8. ^^I also second this! We had a great team/family at Spaceship Earth when I was there earlier. I was never treated differently because I was a CP and the older full-timers often looked out for us and felt bad for us with how many hours we were scheduled during busy times. I will say that Great Movie Ride was a little different when I moved there. There were a lot of people working there and many thought that they were serious actors so they had their priorities and diva-like qualities. Overall though you will always have people around you that are in your same situation. It's what you make of it!
  9. Great report! Hong Kong looks amazing and is definitely on my bucket list!
  10. Anyone aware of the only hidden Minnie on property? It's in the Hollywood Hills backdrop on stage at the Great Movie Ride. I used to point it out to people when I worked there as a CP earlier this year.
  11. MOUNT OLYMPUS!!!........nuff said.
  12. I just finished the college program this past Spring and my advice to anyone questioning it is...DO IT! It truly is what you make of it. If you worry about what your role will be and focus so much energy on questioning if you will like it, then you are just setting yourself up for disappointment. Instead you should just roll with it and focus on having a great time with your roommates...your roommate situation is far more crucial to your overall experience than your job. I got lucky and was placed at Spaceship Earth...so I liked my job already. I was placed in a 4 bedroom apartment in Chatham which I wasn't so excited about because there would be 8 of us in one apartment...but I gave it a shot. I ended up becoming really good friends with all of my roommates and we all had a great time together. Some of my roommates had crappy jobs that they didn't like, but they would come home from work and then we would party or go out and do something and have fun. It is important for you to take a look at yourself before stepping into the life you will have in the college program. People who are flexible, open-minded and willing to step outside of their comfort zone will succeed. If you are a quiet, shy, afraid to live away from mom and dad type of person...then you may struggle. Worst case scenario...you go and have an awful time and you end up hating it....then guess what? You quit and go back home! It's definitely worth the risk! I had a magical time
  13. There were talks at one time of adding a new kiddie coaster as well.
  14. ^The problem is that nobody rides it!...and it's expensive to maintain.
  15. Fans of Tak Attack (aka Mighty Axe) better get in their last rides while they can. It sounds like the ride is on its way out to make way for something described as "new", "tall", "first", & "spinny." In fact, the park has such a great relationship with Gerstlauer that I'd put my money on them. I'd almost even say that it might be something on this page: http://www.gerstlauer-rides.de/products/flat-rides/ hmm......
  16. Fantastic trip report! You took some GREAT photos.
  17. I've been working at Spaceship Earth as a CP for a week now. I definitely was not asked about my ride preference in the interview. I was asked if I would prefer to work indoors vs. outdoors but that's about it. I would also agree with only indicating areas that you truly would like to work in. I only indicated Attractions and Transportation on my application, but I was asked if I would be flexible enough to work in other areas such as merch, foods, and custodial. I said no and I still got the job.
  18. Robb- Did you ever take an Insane POV at Grona Lund?
  19. Dude!...awesome pics! You took some very postcard-worthy photos. I especially liked the hardrock fountain pic. Great job!
  20. Nice pictures, Hanno! It's a shame Mt. Olympus isn't managed/maintained better....
  21. ^I actually studied in Arnhem for 6 months (I love your country very much, by the way). Whenever I looked for train tickets to Soltau, they were always 60+ euros each way. I'm not too bummed though because I was fortunate enough to visit many other parks in Europe.
  22. Very beautiful pictures. Great park, too!
  23. Nice photos! I definitely wanted to visit Heide when I was in Europe but it was quite expensive to get to without a car.
  24. I think I....wait...I maybe just....Yep!...I just wet myself! This is simply stunning! I hope to make it to China someday.
  25. I'm going to call it now...TPR Iraq trip in 2013!
