^It was most likely Silver Bullet at Knotts. If you YouTube CP commercials, you will see that Silver Bullet is used in many of them as well. I recall seeing Ghostrider in a Valleyfair commercial last year (or the year before) and also a close-up of riders on Silver Bullet. -

Nice report, Matt! I don't completely understand CF parks offering Subway. When I think of Subway in general, I don't think of a luxury brand. I think of cheap fast-food that doesn't take a lot to assemble. I think CF charging $13 for a footlong is absolutely ridiculous and is likely to lead to more dissatisfied customers than satisfied customers who are willing to pay extra for the brand. I'm sure we would all agree that food at most parks is expensive to begin with. It wouldn't surprise me to hear of people who are initially attracted to Subway, but then walk away and choose the less-expensive options. I don't know...hearing about a family of four that paid $50 to eat lunch at Subway sounds way worse to me than hearing about that same family paying $50 for burgers and fries. I think less-exposed brands such as Panda Express can get away with it because Panda Express isn't easily attainable (at least not in Minnesota). With Subway, you can find one just about anywhere. In fact, there is a Subway literally 5 minutes away from the park in downtown Shakopee. I'm no expert on this matter...rather I am a student who hopes to work in the industry someday and simply doesn't understand this move. What do you all think? Just about every marketing class I have attended in college has preached how it is imperative for a business to establish a loyal relationship with consumers during a time of economic crisis. I see this move as a turn-off and a step backwards toward achieving that goal. It must be at least semi-successful though because Subway is offered at other CF parks as well.... -

Favorite coaster cars/trains or ride vehicles

I think I am the only one who doesn't find X-car seats comfortable. HRRR's trains are sexy...but I found them rather uncomfortable. -

^Funny you should mention that. I actually witnessed a station brakes failure (RCT lingo ) on Racer a few years back. -

I think it'll be interesting to see how Texas Giant turns out with the new track. I can see CF doing the same to SOB instead of investing the money in tearing it down and starting over from scratch with a new ride. If they do remove it...then I would hope that they consider adding a new wood coaster (from a proven manufacturer) in the future. The parks lacks a good, modern wood coaster IMO. -

This looks like a lot of fun and something that I would totally do. Any more info on pricing for this?...I have a feeling that this will be quite expensive. -

Awesome PhotoTR!!!...that last photo of the sunset is truly exceptional (it would make a great wallpaper). BGA is one of the best parks in the U.S. in my opinion...I never get bored there.

Awesome TR! I have really enjoyed following the construction of this park. One thing I'm not a fan of are those ridiculous-looking green dinosaurs in JP. It looks like someone stole them from a Sinclair gas station! -
My biggest geek out moment was on Renegade's opening day at Valleyfair in 2007. I was walking through the park with my non-coaster nerd friends and all of a sudden I spotted Mike Boodley, Clair Hain, Jeff, & Chris from GCI. I instantly stopped in my tracks and shouted "Oh My God!" I explained to my friends who they were and they all started laughing at me. We went up to them and said hello and I was almost speechless. I look back now and laugh at how big of a dork I was in that moment and I really can't believe my reaction...it was like running into a big name celebrity

Nice pictures again! I'm excited to see more photos of this open with people on it. It looks to be a fun ride. Also, for the locals who are going to give it a spin , find out how many points it is? I would imagine that it'll be at the max (6 points)...but I wouldn't be surprised to see it as a 5 point ride. -
What is your Favorite Coaster Manufacturer?
Looty replied to vertgforces's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A few years back, I would have said B&M by a landslide! Today, I have to go with Intamin. Intamin offers a wide variety of coaster designs/concepts and most, if not all, of their coasters over the last 8-10 years have been excellent IMO. I still love B&M, but I guess I know what to expect when riding a new B&M now because many of them are similar to an extent. Another company who I really am taking notice of is Gerstlauer. Gerstlauer offers high-thrill products at an affordable price...and their rides are simply fun! Oh and GCI rocks my world too -
Hey Bas! The pictures turned out great!...sorry about my sleeve in the last one I especially like the photo with the ghostly-looking people walking in front. Thanks again for being an awesome Toverland ride buddy!

Nice pictures!...although it would be cool to see what it looks like from above as well. Perhaps ride the ferris wheel and snap some pics from up there if you have time. Either way, this is looking a lot better than I initally thought it would. -
