  1. Wow that is weird. Has it been reprofiled or anything like that? Just seems more complex than it needs to be, or at least more complex than other coasters. The picture below shows the other loop of a more standard looking construction, although the loop itself is still a bit of a weird shape. www.rcdb.com/ig254.htm?picture=2
  2. Is the lift going slow due to testing, or is it normal and just the way I'm looking at it? Seems to float quite nicely though the roll though, and looks like it might be fun. I'll probably never ride it however, but still its nice to look at.
  3. Really nice pics, and captions to make you laugh Actually quite like that side shot of the castle, so maybe its secretly a good thing you couldn't get a front shot. Ok really weird question, but how do you actually pronounce your name? I'm just....wondering! And another thing, I noticed the letters outside DCA are kinda yellow-orange, when I went they were blue. Do they just change them over the year, or are they heat/light reactive or something like that?
  4. As ^ said, go to an actual doctor if you think there is a problem, that way they can do tests etc if necessary. On another note Batman at SFMM is a pretty forceful coaster IMO, I don't know about Top Gun as I haven't been on it, maybe thats got something to do with it. I have never had any problems with coasters, but after a long day at SFMM in the heat (90 deg), all that walking and the fact the rides were pretty much walk on (so not much waiting in line), I was starting to not feel so good. Maybe a different factor since I'm not used to higher temperatures anyway being from England, but for the first time ever I'd had enough of coasters for that day.
  5. Really nice pics, thanks for sharing. I think the castle looks pretty cool at night, maybe I should do my house up like it.
  6. Out of the photos in the first post, I only really like the one of Rita. I think its probably because the rides in the other photos are faded or basically tatty looking, except for the yellow and red B&M looking one ('scuse me for not knowing what it is ), but then that one I just don't find interesting. I can picture the one of rita in black and white hanging on a wall somewhere, but not the others. Obviously its all personal preference, and if you like them, keep on doing it As for brakes, really not my thing either. I know a little while ago someone posted close ups of MF and TTD, with the trains, and they were some of the best shots I have ever seen.
  7. ^ Probably has a funny accent < Supports the gas V has a boring avatar
  8. Stay in school and obey your parents.
  9. I think I must be the only one who didn't fide it rough or painful in any way. I just found it plain underwhelming and not very exciting atall, asides the views at night were pretty cool. It just wasn't that much fun. And the restraints are kind of crap anyway, since I could quite easily lower my shoulders and lean forward right out of them. I decided not to do the whole ride like it though, its probably not a smart move.
  10. I'm pretty sure the ride wouldn't be designed to 'make you pass out' since if it did, unloading the thing would take forever It may well be designed to push you to your limits, or more so to the limits of the Health and Safety standards governing positive and negative G forces, and the time durations the rider is allowed to be subjected to the forces. I've only been on it twice, and both times did suffer with my vision going black around the edges (tunnel vision I guess) whilst going through the helix. I wouldn't describe myself as having issues, because I know, or at least have read its not that uncommon. I didn't get whiplash from it, the only ride ever to cause me proper pain in my neck is X.
  11. This is quite cool, switching between different providers gives views taken at different times showing how parks have changed, ot at least Thorpe Park. I'd guess its the same for others. www.flashearth.com/?lat=51.403719&lon=-0.514683&z=18.1&r=0&src=ggl If you look between Google and Microsoft VE theres quite a difference. Oh and they caught the splash of tidal wave too on the Google one.
  12. It actually looks to me in this photo as if he could quite easily climb out of that, or at least it looks very loose around him. Nice photos and TR tho, looks like you guys had a great time thanks for sharing
  13. The same sort of this happened with Thorpe Park satellite images, can't remember if it was google earth or another one, but it was between 2 zoom levels. A closer zoom level had a more up to date photo on it, so it was quite cool to see the differences over a good few years, including infilling of the lake etc. And they managed to catch the full splash from Tidal Wave which was also pretty cool.
  14. ^It would be funny if someone has actually suffered the same effects whilst on the coaster though. Funny for everyone else at least.
  15. Counter-weight Flywheel Loads more info on schwarzkopf.coaster.net/
  16. Really nice pics, thanks for posting. I like what they have done with some of the trees, with the shaping of the trunks to make arches and all that, haven't seen it before but it looks really good.
  17. Someones been busy, again from Thorpe Park Mania NoLimits video of coaster If you haven't really looked at the plans much, the first section including the roll will be in the station building, and at a guess in the dark. Putting that in no limits would kinda defeat the point of it though
  18. B&M must have felt the need to change the design for some reason. It makes the trains narrower and longer. Whether its to do with just putting a new design out there, or there is some other technial reason for it, I don't personally see the problem. The seats are pretty close together if you look at the renderings from page one. I'd guess at 2 to 3 feet apart. Thats not much different from being on the opposite ends of a couch.
  19. The guys over at Thorpe Park Mania have redrawn the plans to give a much clearer birds eye view of the layout, and marked the inversions etc. 2009coaster.maniahub.com/?page=layout

Canada Creek is the area of the park it is in. Not sure how planning works in the US, but basically this is what the ride should look like, unless objections come from nearby residents etc in which case the design may be altered from this release. Personally I think it looks like a good addition to the park, assuming any theming doesnt break and fall to bits in 2 years. Its also good that it isn't just another ride type Alton towers has, otherwise there's a danger people from the South may visit Alton less. Also looking at DCSITEPLN8.pdf it looks as though the queue line (or at least the outside section) might not have very much to look at asides the lake, and I guess seeing parts of the coaster through the trees. Hope it isn't going to be too boring waiting to ride. I always think one of the things that helps the time pass whilst waiting is just watching the coaster twisting around you.
  21. ^True, I've heard from people I know several times saying things like 'was nemesis the purple one?'. Also 'the one where your legs dangled' etc. And just to clarify I am talking about Nemesis at thorpe park. But yeah it will be good if some of the rides get a nice paint job, a lot of them seemed very faded at SFMM. Also on the topic of superman I really don't think it needs a paint job, its probably better left as it is.
  22. Nice pics and TR, thanks for sharing. Oh and you also get a bonus point for using boobies and pole in the same sentence, well done!
  23. There is a height limit of 78" on Face/Off.
  24. You could also power coasters on the moon if you liked to behave exactly like ones on earth. But that kinda defeats the point of wondering what they would be like on the moon.
