  1. I'm currently playing bubble bobble on the NES. I was playing it on the PS2 but I keep losing all my lives on level 42 so I gave up. My friend has 1.7 million on the Wii/NES version, I'm up to 1.1 million on the actual NES version but I haven't played it anywhere near as much as he has. Not that we're competitive.
  2. ^Has no house guests due to the smell V Thinks cows have no feelings
  3. About 5 years ago. When was the last time you ate fried chicken?
  4. Sorry, I was too busy oogling them to post about it. I'll try harder next time.
  5. - What level of investment is being planned across the chain as a whole over the next 5 years or so? Not only in any new rides, but also smaller improvements to the parks, enhancing the overall guest experience.
  6. I see what you're saying, but frankly that is down to bad management/planning at the park. Personally I like the idea of flash passes, and single rider lines. Mainly because I don't hold a season pass to any parks, and I don't often get to go to parks. When I do it costs me about $90 anyway in ticket prices and fuel, and I have to travel for well over 3 hours to get to one. So if I do all this, I want to get the best out of my day. Granted we always get there at opening, and get a few rides in with short wait times, but for an extra $14 or so I would rather guarantee myself another 4 rides with 5 to 10 min waits each than spend 2 hours+ of our day waiting for them. We don't go on exceptionally busy days anyway, and if possible we go on a day when the flash passes aren't even available because its so quiet. I have read on other forums about people buying flash passes and having to wait an hour on a busy day in the flash pass line at Thorpe Park, in this case it's obviously been grossly oversold (in my opinion). I'm for it in my current position, however should I live near a park and have a season pass I'd probably find myself a little less for it. But then in that case I wouldn't go on a busy day anyway.
  7. Have you written to any of the large companies, such as Bolliger and Mabillard (B&M), Intamin or Vekoma for information? You may not get anywhere, however I asked B&M for a drawing of a standard inverted train for a project I was doing, and they happily obliged with basic weight and dimensional information, and sent it to me in the post. You may have trouble getting a really detailed drawing out of them, as obviously they don't just send strangers full designs. It depends on the level of information you need, but its definitely worth a try. Some links to some coaster company websites are below. Personally I found B&M the most helpful. www.bolliger-mabillard.com/index_en.aspx http://www.vekoma.com/ www.intaminworldwide.com/ www.s-spower.com/ www.gerstlauer-rides.de/ www.premier-rides.com/
  8. Just got back from watching Bristol Rovers win to get through to the FA cup quarter final for the first time in 50 years Victory is sweet.
  9. Sweet, I really didn't know if that would work, but thank you gracious title fairy
  10. Being fussy (if thats the right word) doesn't make you a horrible person, and on the other side of things I agree you also shouldn't go out with someone who you don't feel you can be yourself around. I guess there is a point of comprimise, and some people may be willing to go futher than others. If I had just met someone and they just didn't want to either share one of my hobbies, or at least let me do it without them if they didn't want to come along, I would have a serious problem with it. I've found that a relationship where you can do cool stuff together but also have freedom to do stuff apart works really well for me. And the ratio is in your favour yes, especially if thats you in your avatar.
  11. Well let me be the first to say well done Losing over a third of your weight can't be easy, but looks like all the hard work paid off!
  12. I think safety and reliability are the key issues as to why the system you mention isn't in place, or at least has a large downside. Its a great idea to be able to run different programs, but I guess if there was any kind of problem mid-ride you could end up in a very painful position should you be stuck facing in the wrong direction at the wrong time. X was painful enough when you were facing the right way
  13. Definitely. I think the vast Majority of people in the UK have heard of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, whereas only people local to the area would have heard of Pleasureland Southport, let alone want to go and visit it for a weekend break.
  14. Well if I was visiting, I would purchase a wristband anyway so it doesn't bother me. And in addidtion to cleaning up after the guests, it will no doubt stop a lot of loitering and general annoyance from the small minorities who always try to ruin stuff for eveyone else because they have got nothing better to do. I really think it won't put many people off going since its a holiday destination, and its just a small amount more on the cost of the holiday. It is a shame perhaps for those less fortunate who don't have as much money, but then you would really have to look into who spends what at the park to get a clear picture of what the majority of visitors do. Without that information its hard to judge whether or not it makes good business sense, or how many people it will affect in overall day out costs.
  15. ^You think? Lets try that theory. Please almighty title fairy, I promise never to bother you again with another title request if you would be oh so kind as to change my title to: A knight who says NI! Many thanks in advance. Have a nice day.
  16. I used to love watching the films when I was younger, and I had heard they were making another one a while ago, but don't follow movies that much. Trailer looks interesting, and hopefully they will do a great job of it with some really nice action sequences
  17. ^You're right, if you're friends first, then its more likely to work out, or at least last longer because you already know you like who that person is on the inside. And what Wes said is exactly right, just find someone you love to be around, and have fun with, and go from there. You can't just wait and hope a girl who loves your hobbies comes along.
  18. ^I don't even know what a vault icee is. I know what a regular icee is though. On a random not I just added a TPR folder to my email inbox.
  19. ^^^Elmer Fudd. Just to join in. There are loads of people who don't like bunnies. I wasn't hating, just stating your name was changed when requested.
  20. ^As with all coasters, the forces are created by the speed and rate of change of direction. The higher the speed, and the smaller the corner/bend radius, the higher the forces. So it will be different depending on where you sit, since the ends of the train are at slightly different speeds as they pass through the same sections. In general, the longer the train, the more noticable the difference becomes.
  21. ^It works sometimes, maybe the title fairy like hippies and bunnies, and perhaps Eli Manning.
  22. I have never been lost in my own house. You must be rich if you can get lost in your own house. When was the last time you went to watch a live sporting event?
  23. ^Really nice explanation. I do love the engineering side of coasters.
  24. ^its not your brother or anything though is it? Thats a lot of coincidences. Seriously though, sounds great Yeahhhh see thats good advice, and: I feel exactly the same way.
  25. ^I look at those pics and wish the UK had more rides like that! Or at least some good rides closer to me. Or cheaper fuel. I'll accept any of the above Behemoth is looking great, I'll probably never ride it but I really like the colour scheme, and I love the look of the helix and turnaround.
