  1. So that doesn't look like much fun!! It looks like the carriage just came clean off of one end or something collapsed. Lucky nobody was more hurt, it's always a concern when people's legs are dangling in a position to get a lot more injured than they did.
  2. Personally I prefer the photo's in the left column, probably as it just looks more modern with the 'widescreen' type look. The front page looks a lot neater now, a lot less cluttered. The only thing I don't like really is the font used for the links to the forum etc, the size is ok but the font at that size doesn't look brilliant. To me it looks a bit blocky, or a bit industrial. When I can think of the actual word I mean I'll come back later. Other than that, I really like it.
  3. I agree it is ridiculous that people are suing because they caught norovirus. I mean its not pleasant but isn't it just a few days of being ill? IF there is fault at the swimming pool and this is proven then I would agree in fining the facility under health and safety grounds, but to try and sue is completely pathetic. Just out of interest how much would you even receive for being ill for a few days with no permanent effects?
  4. I voted no, I haven't even ever considered it. It's bad enough taking a photo of a stranger who you think is hot, let alone paying for one. I realise the intention of the thread may have been aimed at a more comical response, but I have to agree its a bit creepy.
  5. 1. What do you find most useful about the front page? The 'forum updates, news and other stuff' and 'official updates' sections. 2. What do you find least useful about the front page? I don't tend to use much else on the front page. 3. Is anything on the front page confusing? Nope. 4. How far do you scroll down the front page looking for updates? I don't usually, unless there are a lot of new updates so I cant see them all in one go. 5. How often do you look at the front page? Most visits, although the bookmark I have is directly to the forum. 6. How often do you click on the "whatsnew" link? Never. 7. What would you like to see added to the front page to make your visits to TPR better? Naked chicks. Ok ok nothing that I can think of at the moment. 8. Anything else you would like to mention? Like any thing else you would like to see us add/change/leave alone/etc? Leave the groovy colour scheme alone! What should the two columns on the front page be called? 'TPR Official updates and news', and maybe the other one could be something along the lines of 'Featured Threads' since they are usually just user submitted photos etc that people might normally skip over, but choose to read as its highlighted on the front page.
  6. Thats a really dumb idea. I wouldn't even want to try that.
  7. Absolutely fantastic pictures, thanks for posting them. Its really nice to see stuff like that which the average person simply can't capture at a park with their camera.
  8. Ha that is one of the best I have seen. It's not quite as cool as the TPR Tower of Terror one but it is really well done.
  9. WOW that thing really is amazing, especially the way it recovered on the ice, and when the guy tried to kick it over. You'd be pretty pleased with the end result if you'd been working on that project, or at least I would be. Ok so is it wrong that I found the 'Korean highschool girls:very ugly' video in the YouTube video menu funny?
  10. Nice photo's and trip report. I'm hoping to get to BPB at some point later in the year, I haven't been there since they were building The Big One. The only thing I noticed was £11 is more like $22-25 not $5.50. $5.50 would be the bargain of the year though! Hope you have a great time in Orlando, and more pics like these would be good
  11. ^Yes anyone can post photos, if you have a trip report you would like to share, start a new topic and use the attach file section in the 'post a reply' box. Don't forget the funny captions Really nice photos and trip report so far, thanks for posting, look forward to seeing more. I too saw the spinning Toy Story thingy at the London Exhibition, its really very cool.
  12. I saw the documentary with that exact segment about X in it 6 months ago, it was in one on the 'Extreme Rides' shows, which I still have a copy of. I guess thats why our excited enthusiast is not described as an enthusiast so much as an 'Extreme Rider'.
  13. ^Has difficulty telling the difference between the letters 't' and 's' vHas difficulty telling the difference between right and wrong
  14. It will be interesting to see next year, but at the same time the admission is still only going to be minimal, I think it's going to be something like £5. Its quite difficult to compare a free/low price entry park to somewhere like Alton Towers, which pulled in less that half the visitors of Blackpool, at 2.4 million. Although as long as the parks continue to make money then thats the most important thing, regardless of how many visitors walk through the turnstiles.
  15. Nice photo's and trip report. If I were a monkey the old loop section would be my favourite thing to climb on too.
  16. Ok so I just came across this comment when looking at an old ad for Thorpe Park on YouTube. The ad focuses mainly around Stealth, as does the comment.
  17. THEY SUCK. I voted Alton Towers, but only because the Thorpe ad looks so cheap and is just generally annoying. I too wondered what the hell the massive red coaster was meant to represent. Looks like spinball has been involved in some kind of nuclear accident resulting in its deformation I'm not that impressed by either ad, but it does show the different groups the two parks are aimed at. One looks magical for children, and one is aimed at chavs who hang around in kids playgrounds.
  18. Happy birthday Elissa! Hope you have a lovely day whatever you're doing
  19. I'm 6'4 and haven't had any major problems getting on rides, but then I haven't been to that many parks. I find its not the ops stopping you riding so much as as fitting into the car. Viper at SFMM is a problem, as is Colossus at Thorpe park, because my shoulders are above the pivot point on the restraint. I have to slouch down a bit in my seat, which then means I have to squash my legs in a bit. Also I find if my feet are flat on the floor, the restraint hits the top of my legs before the belt will do up, so I then have to cross my legs at the ankles and let me knees drop each side just to get it down. Didn't have any problems on Stealth at Thorpe, other than its just a bit cramped. Give me a B&M Invert or floorless, they're the most comfortable thing I've been on!
  20. I knew the media has been right all along telling us theme parks are just plain dangerous. Seriously, sad news though, symapthy to his family and friends.
  21. ^I don't actually see what it matters what we put in it. I'm happy to use the locker so I don't really want someone else to tell me I'm taking too much to the park. I can't remember exactly what was in it. My wife carries a small bag around with her with some stuff in it, phone, keys, painkillers, we left her wallet in it since she didnt want it all day. We bought E-tickets which stated we must bring photo ID so we brought our passports just incase, I don't particularly want to carry my passport around especially on water rides. Spare camera batteries, spare memory cards in cases. She had a cardigan incase it got cold, plus we put some water in it to save carrying the bottle round all day. I probably could have stuffed alot of it in my pockets and been uncomfortable all day, but $10 wasn't that much money to me. I didn't even want to carry my camera round all day so I put it in there at times aswell. It's all small stuff, but stuff I couldn't be bothered carrying round all day in the limited space in my cargo shorts.
  22. I do usually use lockers if necessary, and when I visited SFMM we just got an all day locker for $10. I still had my wallet, camera phone etc on me all the time, just put stuff I wasn't going to need every 10 minutes in the locker. On visits to parks in the UK I do tend to avoid having to use a locker in the first place, but then in the past they have been free anyway. As for bringing a 5 year old and 10 year old to the park, I can understand you probably need more stuff, but you can't need all of it all of the time, so get an all day locker. And as for aquiring a 12" bugs bunny, hows about you don't acquire a 12" bugs bunny until you're nearing the end of the day? You won't then need a locker to put it in. Maybe it does suck that you have to pay for something which used to be free, but then I can see that it might help improve things at parks, which in my opinion is a good thing. Like Robb said, if you take a lot of stuff and plan on using the locker, just add a little extra to your budget for it. A little planning goes a long way.
  23. ^But there are loads of things in the dictionary that have been added over the years, due to common use. I don't see why words can't be added or different pronounciations accepted. It's no different than people using regional accents.
  24. ^Definitely, my teeth are nice and staight(ish) after several years of braces and suchlike. It'll be worth it in the long run! WOW!!! Post Number 235!!! WOO-HOO!!!! Yeah cos you didn't see that coming did you EBL
