  1. Son of Beast is definately the roughest I've been on. The thing is just incredible. It's the one of two rides that I refuse to ride anywhere but the front on, because anywhere else is just too rough. The front is bad enough. Texas Giant is pretty bonejarring. It's the other coaster that I won't ride in certain spots on. Just can't handle it. The pain just takes to much of the fun away. Nevertheless, this is one of the best coasters I've ever been on though. Georgia Cyclone is my third nominee. It's a lot like Texas Giant only it hasn't crossed the threshold of being so painful that it takes the fun away. I don't really have many problems with steel coasters.
  2. No contest, O.A.R. I absolutely love these guys. I can't see them enough live.
  3. This isn't even a contest. Cracker Barrel. It needs no explanation. Bob Evans is good, but it's Cracker Barrel.
  4. I drink pop, except when it's Jones, then I'm drinking soda. I try to say soda, but it's just too weird. I am a pop drinker!
  5. I worked at Cedar Point this past summer on Millennium Force. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I made a lot of great friends, but I'll never do it again. The hours were extreme, the pay was awful, and management was a joke. I was pretty amazed at how the park had reached the point they had. There were just a lot of really lousy and poor decisions and rules made by the park that turned the job into a hostile work environment. But like I said, it was an amazing experience and I do miss it, but at the same time, I won't allow myself to go through it again.
  6. It's exciting to see an X-coaster make it to the U.S. and I bet it'll be a nice addition to the park, but I'm a bit disappointed that they went with the general design that Skyline Park has. I would have liked to have seen them go for something closer to Drayton's G Force than Sky Wheel. Either way, I'm sure it'll be a fun ride and a smart investment.
  7. O.A.R. and Robert Randolph & The Family Band, February 2nd, 2004, IU Auditorium. It was a co-headline tour by the two bands and they made a stop in my hometown. The auditorium is an awesome concert venue that has played host to many huge acts. One of the nice things about it is they don't allow smoking or alcohol so it was a clean, fun environment. Anyway... Robert Randolph & The Family Band came out and put on the most amazing live act I've ever seen. They had so much energy and their music was incredible. They play a bit of an eclectic jam sort of music. They are pretty much in their own category. They were just incredible. Such good music with so much energy. There's a reason why Robert Randolph is listed as one of Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists Ever and I found out why in person. Next was O.A.R. , my personal favorite band. They came out and played an awesome set and sounded excellent. They got up on stage and just jammed. They just sounded really good and were full of energy. What it boils down to, is it was two incredibly talented groups playing amazing music. I've seen a lot of shows and it's going to take a lot to top this one. O.A.R. was awesome, but what really set this show apart was Robert Randolp & The Family Band. If they ever come to a town near you and the price is reasonable (usually is if he isn't opening up for a huge act, i.e. Eric Clapton), I encourage you to go see them. I honestly think it'd be hard to be disappointed.
  8. I don't know what you are talkin' about Allison! I love Bradenton. I miss it so much. I used to have family there so we would go quite often. To each his /her own though.
  9. The Voyage- This summer I had the opportunity to ride Hades and Shivering Timbers and both were outstanding. To me, this coaster is going to be a combo of both. Combine the letters and what does that spell? One of the best woodies EVER. SFGAdv Woodie- I've heard and seen so much on the other Intamin woodies that I can't help but wonder what this one will be like. The others look amazing, and from what I hear are, so I can only imagine. Superman (WBMW) and Speedcoaster (Tusenfryd)- I'm a big fan of the rocket coaster and its really exciting to see more of them being built with some actual content to them rather than just a top hat or close to it.
  10. I have a '96 Honda Prelude. It's a small car, but its got a lot of get-up-and-go for a four-banger. Not to mention, the gas mileage is awesome.
  11. Yeah, I must say that soccer stadium is impressive. I wish soccer was a bigger deal here in the U.S. I never played it, but I love watching it. It's great to be able to watch the best collegiate soccer team in the nation for free.
  12. Personally, I'm a bit excited about this coaster. This is just the kind of coaster the WoF has needed. It doesn't strike me as being the best invert ever built but I think it's going to be a pretty solid ride. 150ft is a good solid number and the entire first half of the ride looks pretty decent. I hope to hit this bad boy up when I make my way to Kansas City next year for the Indycar race.
  13. Well, how reliable it's been running is a bit debatable. It has been running better than it was, but it's still no where near as reliable as a coaster should be. Almost every week there is at least one given day where the thing never opens. It also had a major breakdown this summer the lasted a week while they waited for the parts to get shipped in. Nevertheless, I'll hand it to you, it has been a bit more reliable than past years. On a separate note, though I thoroughly enjoy the two giant rocket coasters, I really hope that isn't completely where this genre of coaster is headed. I really hope more parks start investing in these and making custom rides much like Superman Australia, Speed Coaster, Kanonen, and Storm Runner. I would love to see another massive looper like SR, while at the same time I'd love to see a full-sized hypercoaster that pretty much just has the lift hill replaced with a launch followed by a top hat.
  14. Good Question. Best Steel: Flight of Fear- Flying at the bottom of the building and then whipping through the corkscrew is crazy. Best Wood: Shivering Timbers- The helix right before the brakes really pins you against the side of those trains. Simply awesome in the front seat. Worst Overall: Adventure Express- It doesn't get much dumber than that. I still enjoy the ride though.
  15. Well, I've been on Titan, and though that thing has a lot of force, it's not the most "intense" helix I've ever experienced. Ever been on the Beast? I somtimes question if there will ever be a helix as insane as that one.
  16. Easily Apollo's Chariot. I rode it in what was pretty much a downpour. It was so painful but so incredibly fun. Just felt like the thing was flying.
  17. Yeah, when I was 15 and my OTSR popped up. I thought I was done for. Granted true, in all reality, I wasn't going to die because there was the seat belt keeping it down, but the gap was still very large and it was terrifying. To this day, I still get uneasy when I get on a major ride that doesn't have a secondary restraint.
  18. Yeah, I've only seen one. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was a good movie but I still don't know if I like it better than the original. Gene Wilder rocked in the original, though Johnny Depp did a good job in the remake. They are just two completely different characters. The only ones so far that I really would like to have seen/see are Madagascar and Wedding Crashers. I just don't go see movies enough. Too expensive anymore. $8 for a movie is just a little too steep for me.
  19. ^You have it down! Of course, aren't you from there? Yeah, I would personally suggest sometime in May, especially through the week. Crowds are a joke at that time. Most of the rides are walk-ons. Early June is usually not to bad either as a lot of the others have reported. If you have to come on a weekend though, come on Sunday. The crowds are usually comparably to a normal week day. Overall, just avoid late June, July, and Saturdays.
  20. Ahh, I wanted to go so bad. I didn't have the money when tickets went on sale this year. I had a blast at his show last year. Kind of sucks he played a lot of slower stuff, but it is Buffet, it's all good. Hopefully I'll make it back next year. Until then, I'm going to enjoy the newly built Cheeseburger in Paradise down here.
  21. When I was seven, I rode King's Island's Racer for the first time with my family and cried my eyes out.
  22. Yeah, definately have to go with Mt. Olympus on this one. No contest. Hades and Cyclops are simply awesome and Zeus is a fun ride as well.
  23. I made my maiden voyage to MIA this summer as well. Shivering Timbers pretty much makes that park. I had similar fate that Derek did. The first few times I rode it, I thought it was "ok." It slowly got better throughout the day though. It got really good. Amazing. I freakin' loved the ride. This was one coaster that lived up to all of the hype for me. The park itself is so prime for expansion. If there was ever a park that was perfect for turning it into a mega park, its this one. Unfortunately, location is not really working on their side. On top of that, something needs to be done about capacity there. The one train operation really kills Wolverine Wildcat. Overall, it's a fun little park. Just can't go expecting a whole lot. I really hope CF doesn't screw this park up. They could really do a lot with it. Really hope they throw a B&M invert in their sometime soon.
  24. Hooray for no block brakes!! Ok, the two train operation will probably make the line move a little slower, but no biggie. No complaints. I think that this might turn out to be a really excellent ride. I'm really excited that they don't have the midcourse brakes. That will really help with the pace. I can't get over how excited I am about that. The reuse of the name Goliath doesn't really bother me because its not like it's been used that much. It's been used twice (one of which isn't owned by SF anymore as we know), once in Europe, and once on the other side of the country. No big deal. I just hope they make an attempt to put some theming into this.
  25. The Olsen Twins. I had it for them when I was a youngin'. As I hit jr. high, it switched to Katie Holmes.
