What Ride makes you Nervous the Most?
Scaparri replied to Thrillrider15's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Unfortunately there isn't much that scares me anymore other than tall Intamin freefalls. Even those don't scare me a whole lot anymore. The wait to be dropped is agonizing. There is the traditional click that is the warning sign but there is still no really good sign exactly when you are going to drop. I'm not going to lie, I really miss being frightened on rides. I still get a big thrill nevertheless. -
The first pic was taken just a few minutes ago so Julie knows what I look like tomorrow (and anybody else that is going). No I'm not an MF fanatic. I'm sporting the MF crew hoodie for this season. The second is me getting my game face on for the bumper cars at SFOT this summer. (Sorry if I've posted this one before) Best bumper cars ever! Out of the pure joy of being random, I shaved my head a week ago. It was pretty long before hand.

This only fuels my desire to go to Australia. This thing looks amazing. Hope it rides as good as it looks. -
Sweet jeebus that sounds intense. That really sucks Wally. Well, now you have a fun story to tell! No, seriously though, take it easy bud and get better.

I rented Crash the other night and wow, what a powerful, great film. I encourage anybody to pick it up and watch it. It's based around racial prejudices and stereotypes. It's very moving. Seeing how I just rode Italian Job for the first time, I had this itching to actually see the movie. I definately enjoyed it. Wasn't the best action flick I've seen by any means, but it was fun.

La Ronde Discussion Thread
Scaparri replied to Skyscraper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's partially working for me. About half of it is coming up but that is probably just because I have dial-up. I really like the whole concept of hypers without mid-course brakes. I must say I am a little disappointed that there aren't really any true turns other than the simple turn-around, but this will be good for the park. Plus I try not to bitch too much. -
track record what counts and what doesn't
Scaparri replied to methos's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If it's moebius, like Racer at Kennywood, that is one credit. If it isn't, then it's two. I know it may have the same name, and essentially be the same ride, but it's technically still two coasters. I'm not exactly a credit whore, I just do it for consistency. American Eagle at SFGAm, for example, has a forward side and a backward side. A lot of people consider this to be two coasters since the experience of each are quite different from one another, but if SFGAm were to turn the backward side back around, that would make it one coaster? No. it's still two different coasters, so just to be consistent, I count every seperate track as a coaster. -

If you ask me, I'll say Bloomington, but technically, my residence is Ellettsville, IN. I have spent my entire twenty years here. Scott "And it's driving me crazy" Parrish -

I lean to the left. -
Virtually never. The only time I really make it is when I either have somebody coming over or it the sheets are terribly out of place.

That's pretty cool. I didn't even know National Geographic had a channel so I'm obviously not going to get to watch it. -

Wild CP rumor.
Scaparri replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think I'm going to stick to what I've heard from one of the head maintenance guys and believe that they are putting in two flats next year and a coaster in '07. Not only is 500ft a little hard to believe (what are they going to do, build another Rocket coaster?) but to build it a flyer, a ride that has barely broken the 100ft marker is a bit too extreme for me to believe. -
What is the best floorless?
Scaparri replied to ddaver177's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, unfortunately, I've also only been on one, Dominator. The thing is pretty freakin' amazing. The turn following the loop is righteous intense, and so is the figure-8 mess following the flat spins. It's an awesome ride. I just hope the rattle it's developed doesn't get much worse. -

Final Farewell Astroworld Photos
Scaparri replied to Mark Rosenzweig's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, I really liked those photos. They really gave me a better perspective of what exactly the park was like. There were some really good shots in there. -
I've never been to the water parks in the November, but if it's warm enough, I would definately check them out if you're a water park kind of person. I know everytime I go down there, if I don't visit at least one, I feel like I'm missing something. EPCOT is actually my favorite park their, even though the ride selection may be less than stellar. It's just so unique and such a fun experience. If you've never been there before, I recommend reserving a night at some point for that park. It's a beautiful place.

things you like that other peeps find weird
Scaparri replied to zongaboy626's topic in Random, Random, Random
Mine aren't terribly weird, but people still seem to think they are quite strange. -I like fries WITHOUT ketchup. It ruins the taste. -I thoroughly enjoy the taste of Red Bull. If there was just a normal Red Bull soda that tasted the same but wasn't an energy drink, I'd drink it all the time. And that's saying a lot 'cause I'm not a fan of pop. -I think Cornflakes is the best cereal ever made. -I think hockey is the greatest sport to ever grace the planet -I have a passion/obsession with Indycar racing and the Indy 500 that rivals that of, yes, even roller coasters. (The previous statement may seem to contradict this one, but I kind of place the two in seperate categories seeing how auto racing isn't exactly a "normal" or "traditional" sport)
