  1. Is it just me or does no one in MN wear shoes? Just look at some of the first pics of Steel Venom and Power Tower...not one person is wearing shoes!
  2. Out of the ones listed I would say Storm Runner as that is the only one on the list I have ridden (KK was down when I visited.) But what about Volcano/V2/Possessed/etc? Does that count?
  3. No matter who does this, I think it looks pretty damn impressive! If it is Gerstlauer then I hope it has the lap bar only trains.
  4. There are so many that produce heavy G's but: Positive-The dive into the ravine on Mindbender at SFOG (surprised no one mentioned this-I ride it on a regular basis and this part always makes me grunt) Negative-El Toro (the crossover part actually hurts) Lateral-Definitely Legend (so laterally rough that I hate that ride and probably will never ride it again)
  5. I counted 3 with a possibility of 4. There was one where I couldn't tell if it was the duckie or not so I guess I will go with 3.
  6. ^Once again, I completely agree. I am not "acting" butch. I am just being myself and I don't feel like I have to be prissy or sassy to get attention and tell people that I am gay. The fact that I just married my boyfriend 2 months ago and people might see us hold hands or hug would be enough to tell them I am gay. I don't have any agenda. I just am who I am. I am totally ok with guys that are feminine and are that way because that is just who they are or they were born feminine. I am not ok with guys that do it just because that is how "they are supposed to act." And while we are talking about media, there is one more thing that really pushes my buttons. A lot of movies out there (like The Kids are Alright) portray that the gay or lesbian actors can just switch off being gay or lesbian and go the other way (Julianne Moore all of the sudden sleeps with a guy.) It REALLY perpetuates the stereotype that we choose to be gay and that we can turn it off if we want too. It also says that we are confused as people. As if enough people don't think that already. That really does not help in any way. Trust me, I am in no way confused. I have never been attracted to boobs or vagina.
  7. ^^Richard, I totally agree with you! I get so sick of the whole gay stereotype that we are all big, huge, flaming queens that do drag and whore around every chance we get. It makes me sick! There are some of us that are masculine, hairy, heavily tattooed and like extreme sports. We are all different, but every "gay" movie that comes out, mainstream or not, portrays us in the way I first stated. The only two that have not are Brokeback Mountain and The Kids are Alright. I really wish that the media and Hollywood could see ALL of us in a different light. We are very diverse.

  11. I have had two very scary experiences...both at my home park. Once my husband and I were riding GASM and on the second drop the buzz bar came all the way up and we were practically standing straight up. It was the scariest ride I have ever had and we held on for dear life the rest of the ride. Then another time we were riding Mindbender and the big clunk that always comes at the bottom of the lift was louder and more extreme than normal. Going up the rest of the lift our car was teetering back and forth like a wheel had been broken or that something fell off the car. Needless to say, my hands were not up that entire ride when they usually are. It was pretty scary!
  12. ^ Steve, I could not agree more! I like both manufacturers (both make awesome and lame coasters) and I just love airtime (floater or ejector.) They are both great and either way I am out of my seat.
  13. I really don't understand the hate for B&M sans 2004 and before. Yes, some of the coasters are cookie cutter and yes, some of them are forceless but I don't think that makes them boring for the most part(except their floorless and flyers-those are boring as hell to me.) I also don't understand why most people are all about Intamin just because they have different layouts on their coasters. What good is that when they break down constantly? (just look at KK and El Toro, Yes, those are awesome rides....wait, I only got to ride El Toro because after being there for 2 full days it was the only one that was up every few hours that I was lucky enough to ride. KK was down the whole time. At least you don't have to go to a park 5 times to get a B&M credit.) Back to my point....and what about the fact that they have to trim/modify everything they make right after they build it because the rides are too intense. I am no professional but I took one look at the 305 animation before it was built and could tell you that a turn that tight after a 300 foot drop was going to be too forceful. What I can't understand is why the designers can't see that? And what is the point in a coaster like Formula Rossa going 150mph if it just hits trims right after that. Don't get me wrong...I like Intamin, but they make some boring rides too *coughCheetahHuntcough* I think they make some great rides (Storm Runner and El Toro are amazing,) but I just don't get why some people are so down on B&M. I love B&M rides. IMHO, Goliath at my home park is one of the best coasters out there and I have ridden El Toro, NTAG, 305 and a slew of others that are rated much higher. I like ejector air too. I just wish that everyone wasn't so down on a company that makes rides that are pretty awesome. There would be half the coasters out there right now if it wasn't for B&M. And on another subject, I don't see how people can be down on Leviathan but think MF is the best thing ever. Yes, no one has ridden Leviathan yet but at the same time it has a pretty similar layout to MF. I think people are just hating on it automatically because it is B&M. I will reserve my judgement until I ride it. (I am sure I will get flamed to all hell because of this post.)
  14. I got to more parks this year than probably ever before... Busch Gardens Tampa (2x) Sea World Orlando SFOG (bazillion times+DSB) Dixieland Lake Winnie SFFT SFOT SWSA Knoebels Dorney Park Hershey SFGrAdv Dollywood Universal IOA Fun Spot Old Town Nascar Speedway Adventure Crossing
  15. ^ I figured as much but just didn't know if you had previous footage from some trips you had done. I saw you doing some filming at DSB and am really glad you got POV of Mindbender. Wish it would have been on Raw 6 too, but unfortunately I don't own a blue ray. Once again, thanks for getting all the footage so that I have something to do in the off season!
  16. Robb, I can suggest a few woodies that I don't think I remember seeing on any of the other discs...yes, they may not be the best but I would love to see them on video: American Thunder (Evel Kneivel) Roar (SFDK) Lightning Racers Wildcat (Hershey) ^You can never have too many GCI's. Then there is also: Great American Scream Machine (SFOG) American Eagle (SFGAM) Cheetah (WA) Beast (KI) Racer (KI) Rattler (SFFT) Thunder Road (Carowinds) Wild One (SFA) Zippin Pippin (BB)
  17. Got my Raw 6 DVD's yesterday. Watched them last night and it is some of the best, clear footage I have ever seen! I liked the selection of coasters on the steel disc a lot better. The woodies disc got a little boring towards the end but then again how many amazing woodies are there that have not pretty much been covered on the past Raw discs? Robb thanks again for getting all of this footage for us. I always look forward to every Raw series disc and buy them as soon as they come out.
  18. I want that Bag O Crap more than life!!! Looks awesome!
  19. I have never been a big fan of floorlesses and I posted my vote in this thread before but I have ridden a few more since then...here asre mine in order of preference: 1. Dominator 2. Hydra (this may come as a surprise but I loved the Jo-Jo Roll and the uniquesness of the layout) 3. Superman: Krypton Coaster 4. Medusa West 5. Bizarro 6. Kraken (I don't understand why this one gets such rave reviews...I find it boring) I think the only US ones that I have left are Scream and Batman: The Dark Knight
  20. Dare Devil Dive-SFOG (Home park) Goliath-SFOG Batman -SFOG Georgia Scorcher-SFOG Intimidator 305-KD Intimidator-Carowinds Green Lantern-SFGrAdv New Texas Giant-SFOT (opening weekend)
  21. Good, I think you will find it worth it!
  22. Netherworld in Atlanta is the best I have been to. There are two haunts both located in a warehouse. One downstairs and one upstairs. They totally change them every year. I have been twice before and I am going this Saturday with my boys. There are always 2 things that are incorporated into the haunts, a spinning tunnel that you have to walk through and a swaying room. They always do a great job. It is really fun and gets rated as one of the top 5 haunts in America every year. Come check it out!
  23. Hey QR, thanks for the shout out and it was very nice to meet you finally! Glad you had a blast at my home park. I look forward to next year!
