1. Sorry it took me a few days but here are the pics that some friends and I did. One of them is incredibly wrong but we laughed so hard that we had to buy the picture when we saw ourselves.S35C-109052615510[1].jpg
2. I have at least 2 good ones I can upload when I get home.
3. ^^Gross! Warm Milkshakes! Love your pictures Hanno! Best on this site!
4. I have to say that that is one of the ugliest trains I have ever seen for any coaster. They really could have done something else to it but it is very unesthetically pleasing. The B&M wing rider trains look ten times better.
5. I went to SFOG and Dollywood's opening weekends already.
6. ^We walked in and payed 7 bucks to just do the credit last September. Has something changed?
7. I rode Cyclone on Sunday and the first part was incredibly smooth and fast. The rest of the layout that does not have the topper track was rough as usual. I don't think that it was as bad as I remember it but I also have not ridden it in 3 years because it got so rough. It still had several spots of really good airtime, especially the 4th drop(what we term the death drop) that I had forgotten how much airtime you get there. It is still a rough coaster (minus the topper track portion) but I think that if they would completely apply topper track to the whole coaster that it could be a top 10 or even 5 woodie again.
8. Stoked that your report was in the form of honey badger. Made me LOL a couple of times because I could hear his voice doing your report. I was there for media day and have been to Dollywood at least 10 times. It is one of my favorite parks of all time and the people that work there will bend over backwards to help you. Dollywood rules!
9. I've ridden: Lightning Racers-both sides Gwazi-both sides (old and new trains) Kentucky Rumbler Roar west Thunderhead Wildcat I think that Thunderhead in the first two seats takes the cake on all of them with Roar west being a second. Thunderhead has a ton of airtime and is my fav GCI and 3rd fav wood coaster overall.
10. The hairy chest contest looks hot! The guy in the blue shorts ain't too shabby!
11. QR, I can attest to the drop tower thing. I absolutely hate them as well and have promised my husband that I won't ever ride one again. I can do some small shot towers, but NO drop towers. They scare the SH*T out of me. So if (or when) you move to the ATL and go with us on trips you will have someone to hang out with when everyone else is riding drop towers!
12. We visited the Riverwalk in April of last year when we did our Texas trip and we loved it! It was very nice and a great place to grab a beer or food as well. Plus it is really close to the Alamo. Also, not terribly far to SFFT or SWSA.
13. I could say the same thing about everyone who thinks Skyrush is going to be the greatest ride to ever touch US soil and is bitching about B&M's being forceless and how Leviathan is going to suck ass....personally I am excited about all the new coasters debuting this year (I just happen to think that Skyrush is not the ZOMG holy grail of coasters.)
14. I have been trying to find this book for a long time. No one ever has it. I collect coaster books and have most of the popular ones out but I can never get my hands on this one. Shame.
15. QueerRudie wrote....Yeah well, Our Hyper's bigger than YOUR hyper.... You wish your hyper was bigger than mine!
16. This coaster is going to suck ass. And it is ugly too.
17. ^^Yeah, you have obviously never ridden Thunderhead (and most other GCI's.) They have tons of airtime, just maybe not the kind you prefer.
18. I rode Rattler last year with it's topper track on sections and that part was extremely smooth but the rest of it was just as rough and terrible. It is at the top of my worst wood coaster list, even with some topper track. I am hoping that they can retrack the majority of Cyclone with this. I will give it a ride once again this year to feel it out but I haven't ridden this coaster in the past few years because it had gotten so bad.
19. Great pictures! We also had a great time at DSB even though we live here and ride these coasters on the regular.
20. I agree that our park is one of the best, if not the best in the chain (although I have a soft spot in my heart for Over Texas after going this year.) I hear people that live around here complain about our park but they really have no idea how good of a park we have and that the management is wonderful. The only thing I wish that would be implemented is the no line jumping rule. We have had nothing but bad experiences with that, even when we have called the number that was posted at every ride, nothing was done about it. Other than that, our park is awesome in my opinion. Now if only we could have an Intamin pre-fab or a launched coaster. One can wish, right?
21. I will add to mine....after this last year of insane weather we have had, I am now afraid of tornados. Having come close to almost experiencing a few this last year, they totally freak me out. Now everytime there is severe weather I start freaking out.
22. ^^I agree! The only good part was the drop. The rest of that coaster blew.
23. There are several for me.... Rattler-OMG, this is the worst woodie EVAR! Here's hoping that the RMC treatment is true. Nighthawk (Carowinds)-Awful, awful, awful Shockwave (KD)-Watch your nuts and ribs Hurler (KD or Carowinds)-Brutal-bruised ribs from the KD one
24. Congrats Big Mike! I hope to hit 1000 one day but that will be a long time from now.
