I did the same trip you did with the exception of HW ( went there a few years prior) and I totally agree with you about Prowler. Was expecting such a good ride and then nothing. Was so disappointed. Thunderhead smokes Prowler any day and I have ridden most of the US GCI's. Then totally disagree with you on Raven. Loved that one from the beginning. So much fun and was in my top 5 woodies until last year. Got knocked out by Ravine Flyer II. -

I don't 'get' TTD or Kingda Ka
coasterbear30 replied to etr102's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have not ridden KK because it was closed the 2 days we went back in 2011 but I will get a chance again this May. I absolutely love TTD though. It is in my top 5 steel and I have ridden over 300 coasters. I understand why people call them one trick ponies but I don't care. That one trick is sick and made me scream like a bitch on the launch and drop. I rode it 3 times on our trip to CP. I would rather have a short intense ride than a long boring one! (That's what he said.) -

Of the 3 I have ridden, it would go: 1 Voyage 2 Ravine Flyer II 3 Hades 360 I thought that Hades 360 was not as bad as everyone says. I rode it in the front and the back. The front was definitely worse. It is definitely not smooth but I think GA Cyclone and Hurler are rougher. -

About 20 DVDs a year. No blu rays, no digital downloads. -

Just hit 300 last week on American Thunder at SFStL. -
Totally disappointed in this announcement. I have lived in Atlanta for 16 years and been to WW once. Most of the people I know could care less about water parks but love thrill parks and coasters. I don't see why SF only has one brand new coaster out of the whole chain (and that coaster went to a park that got a brand new coaster 2 years ago and namtaB this year!) With them pouring this much money into our park, I don't see why they couldn't have done something coaster wise, even if that meant backwards Batman. I see no use for another water park, especially inside SFOG. This only means that it will make lines longer for the coasters we do have and also will mean lots of wet people on the coasters. If there is one thing I hate, it is sitting in a wet seat. This probably will also mean a rise in admission and season passes. I get why they did it (money) but it doesn't mean I have to be happy about it.

Several people have said that it is a waterpark expansion, even a few that work at the park. I am hoping it isn't, but we will see. The reason why this would be a really stupid idea is because the river is right there and anytime it floods it would flood the water park. They would have to build it up on a hill for the river not to reach it. That part of the park is also not accessible if this was to become a separate entrance fee, which some of the SF waterparks are. SF does not need another water park.

Some friends and I went on Labor day weekend the year it closed and each got in for just $26 a person. It was completely dead on a Saturday on Labor Day weekend if that tells you anything. There was all of maybe 150 people in the park. There were no waits for anything except the water coaster and it was about a 10 minute wait. Everything was running and looked nice but I knew it was doomed after seeing that. Glad I got to go and get those 5 credits!

...hence the argument for a launch midway through, and avoiding a mid-course naptime. I'm not sure how anyone can't see the "two coasters bolted together" analogy? Smiler needed a launch, period...much like we'd be comparing Cheetah Hunt to a 4,440ft. monorail without its three launches. Smiler looks fun, but the second lift keeps it from "wowing" me. Cheetah Hunt isn't a 4,440 ft. monorail? Coulda fooled me. -

Wild Eagle 7 times at night during ERT for Thrills in the Hills at Dollywood last Saturday. -
I got to ride RPM ( and the rest of the coasters) right before the park closed and I will say that RPM was definitely one of the most interesting Premeirs out there. The Ferris wheel lift was a little unnerving though. I hope they relocate it too just because it is the only one of its kind in the world.

When we were there a couple of weeks ago on a behind the scenes tour of Intimidator, they told us that they get a coaster every five years so we should expect something in 2015 since Intimidator was in 2010. What? I am not sure but I would guess wing rider. They also mentioned that they would probably be getting another ride next year as well. I am thinking flat ride. It would be nice if it was that giant frisbee that was rumored a few years back.
