I am proud to say that I've gotten back into running again. College has made me really lazy, but I got the willpower back recently to run around my neighborhood. It's a shame I don't do it more often because northern Pittsburgh (which is where I live) is full of trails. I tried to run with my golden retriever, but he's too interested in stopping every 5 feet. Despite my size; 6'3" 230 lbs, running seems to be the one sport I am really good at... when I am actually doing it. I used to be one of the fastest kids in my gym class in junior high school. One time I went on a crash diet in high school because I was approaching 250 lbs, so I just stopped drinking pop and fast food and started to run everyday. In addition I went to the gym a few times a week and fell in love with the elliptical machine. I used to be on that thing for hours at a time knowing that I was burning 1000+ calories off. Right before I went to my freshman year in college I weighed in at a crisp 205 lbs, but not only did the "freshman 15" live up to its name I gained 30lbs back my freshman year! I think that really deterred me from working out because it seemed like there was no stopping it. Well fortunately my weight hovers around 230 lbs, but I want to get back down to 200 lbs. Here are some comparisons of what I looked liked in college. The first and second picture were taken in my first and second year. It's basically one extreme to the other. Now I am more like the third picture. That was taken last fall and as a bonus you get to compare what I look like to my older brother, Jonathan. I tried to smile, but ended up grinning... first day freshman year my second year last fall

Kennywood has always been considered a traditional amusement park (also a national historic landmark), but that didn't stop them from putting in a big hyper coaster when given the opportunity. Just because a park is labeled as traditional doesn't mean they have to stop buying new rides and roller coasters.

California Proposition 8 Overturned!
Dailey Enterprizes replied to NorCalAndrew's topic in Random, Random, Random
^ Legalizing pot isn't the same as legalizing other drugs like heroin. Also, I am sure there's going to be some order applied to pot smoking like alcohol. I doubt they're going to allow it in places where small children are present and the, "no smoking in restaurants law" will probably be applied to this as well. -

^ Those are my feelings too because I can't comprehend telling someone else they can't marry when I am not gay or in love for that matter. As for politics I don't believe that politics have a say in matters of the heart, but I know it's because of the benefits that marriage brings to workers. Like everyone else has said it's a touchy subject, but I can't see the harm if the love is real. -

Hey guys, while I actually play some guitar myself I want to talk about my sister's boyfriend' T.C. and his company. Majestic Productions He's mainly into hip-hop, but he's open to record with anyone. I think his music is great even though I am not big fan of rap and hiphop. If you guys could check the website out and see for yourself how talented he his. I think he could make it big with the right contacts. -
Also in that video with the ride op. looking at her cell phone. She could have just been looking at the time because not everyone (like myself) wears a watch and I am constantly checking my cell phone for the time. Like I said previously it's sad for this to happen and I hope the girl is alright, but stuff happens. I think we need to be patient until a follow up is published.

Alton Towers Discussion Thread

This happened to me while living in the dorms at college and it sucks more because you know who lives in what room. -
I smoke cigarettes on occasion, but I can't stand the smell of cigars. Maybe someday when I am married and have my first child and then I'll give them a try.

^^^ You must be the guy who does the Red Bull commercials. Whoever took those shots must have been very talented. I just wish I had pictures like that of me snowboarding... minus the crashing I mean.

Computer Issues - HELP!
Dailey Enterprizes replied to PeoplemoverMatt's topic in Random, Random, Random
I could have sworn there was a "Computer Discussion" thread somewhere, but I guess I am going to have to steal this one. I run Windows Vista x64 and what I think happened is that my computer did one of those stupid shut down/updates that I apparently have no control over except for postponing it, but while I had the computer on sleep mode the computer woke itself up and installed the updates and restarted. Normally I don't have a problem with this except for the 5 fans in my computer waking me up in the middle of the night, but I guess the Windows Messenger updated itself along with all of the other Windows related applications like Hotmail and now I am not receiving any emails in my inbox and all of my contacts have been removed. This upsets me because I like to keep contact with people through the Windows Messenger who aren't on AIM and now where the hell do my emails go? My only guess on fixing this is for me to restore my computer previous to the update, but I was interested if anyone else had this problem? -

^^ It's good that system worked then, but considering this boomerang is the oldest one in existence it might not have been upgraded. This whole thing reminds me of an unrelated incident that happened at Kennywood on the Pitt Fall (an Intamin drop tower) a long time ago. A little girl wasn't able to reach her seat belt that clips to the front of the OTSR and the ride ops started the ride without knowing it. The girl was panicking; of course, but the Pitt Fall was originally designed without the seat belts, so she was is in no danger of falling out, so whenever she came back down her and her parents swore they'd never come back to Kennywood despite everything the park did to try to ease the situation. I guess it's really out of principle for roller coasters (major flat rides) to have seat belts now. That makes me think even if rides like Kennywood's Zamperla Aero 360 had seat belts would they even help if the restraints popped open? That would be a bad day for a lot of people. Picture is from TPR -

I am suspicious of the other kids in the car who just left without saying anything. I mean, anything could have happened, but it makes me wonder why the other kids would have left because I am sure they would have been traumatized as well. Also, I just keep picturing in my head this scenario: Kid 1 "Hey, what's that pedal for? Kid 2 "I don't know, step on it and see what happens." Kid 1 "Looks like it doesn't do anything. Oh well." Well I have my doubts about anyone stepping on the pedal without being caught, but who knows. -
Movies, Movies, Movies.....

Until recently I've only seen parts of "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," but I bought the DVD and it's probably the best $7 that I have ever spent on anything. Brad Pitt did the part very well and me being a film student I must say the cinematography was excellent. I also happen to be a big music buff and the score for the movie was probably one of the best that I have ever heard. -
^^ Very cool tattoos Jasmine. Speaking of sharks you'll have to let me know if you still want me to do some sort of poster for that sea life fundraiser.

Guy Freaks out at Indiana Beach

Yeah I am pretty sure he was just messing with everyone (I hope), but it was still pretty funny. The guitar also just made it that more interesting to watch. -
^^ I guess I skimmed over that part of the report, but at least nobody was killed. ^ I think it only classifies as an omen if it happens to you and I highly doubt some holder of faith would care to warn anyone about a carnival ride falling apart. That will be like saying it's going to rain somewhere on earth today. I hope those people are alright, but not to blame faith or a faulty inspection... sometimes stuff happens.

^^ Well I for one have never been trusting of any kind of portable ride. There's something unsafe about a ride that isn't firmly cemented to the ground. Anyway, this is pretty horrific and a rude way to wake up in the morning. I am glad that nobody was seriously hurt (unless someone is keeping that news to themselves), but it is a bit freaky. My boss used to tell me that everything happens in threes, but I think I lost count.

Here's mine that I just got last week, so it's already been flaking for awhile. Breaking Benjamin band logo one more for good measure

^^^ True, so I guess there's no reason for me to ever go to China to ride this thing because there are about 6 amusement parks within driving distance with roller coasters... In all seriousness I never plan on traveling far to just go to an amusement park. In fact I am going to be in Orlando, FL all next week and it's not because of Disneyworld or Busch Gardens. I mean if we had some time it would be in the plans, but I'm going down to see my sister and go to the beach.
