  1. It's very interesting to see Busch Gardens Europe like this. I would like to go back just to see the park and check out the mazes. Also get another ride on Apollo's Chariot.
  2. Yeah I totally want to go. I can almost care less about the ride part of it. Then again I've never ridden anything drunk/buzzed before.
  3. Very cool podcast there Robb. It pretty much sums up everything I've learned while being a member on here minus the experience of an actual TPR trip. Btw, is there an Oktoberfest trip planned? Haha, I'm serious. Oh nevermind, it's going on right now apparently. I guess a trip to the Hofbrauhaus is needed instead.
  4. I must admit it feels like it's been years since I started a topic on this forum. I'm heading to the Crawford County Fair tomorrow. It's going on all this week and it seems to be the biggest fair on this side of Pennsylvania. I'm vacationing at our family's cottage along Canadohta Lake and along with the fair I hope to get to Conneaut Lake Park and Waldameer too. I love it up here. Is anyone else planning on going to this fair too?
  5. Cool stuff Chuck. I can only imagine what crazy directions the GPS was giving you in Pennsylvania because of the detours. I got lost in Pittsburgh the other day I couldn't go southbound on a bridge. I swear whenever I drove across the border into West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia to get to Williamsburg it seemed PA roads are light years behind when it comes to highways.
  6. I agree that nobody deserves to die because that would mean that anybody could say that about anyone for any reason. In this case with the three people it's just a horrible accident that shouldn't have happen.
  7. Kennywood's Jackrabbit in the back seat will most definitely physically lift your butt off the seat. Assuming you're not holding yourself down via the lap bar. Just sit, hold your hands up and let the coaster do its thing.
  8. Haha, the Smokehouse is where I had dinner before I left on Father's Day. I think the employees are fine, but being one in the food industry they have to take necessary precautions to satisfy the food and health board. Our boss is super crazy about keeping everything clean.
  9. Cool pictures and video. Yeah, Celtic Fyre was pretty sweet. What's nice about these TPR events (this one being my first) is that you don't have to do anything alone even if you go by yourself like I did. Thanks Steve for hanging out though you did bail on me on Apollo's Chariot. At least I got to ride it because I left early. I don't know how the rest of you get the strength to keep going. Maybe if there was a Starbucks in the park I could have kept riding.
  10. Thank you Mod for fixing the embedding. Yeah, I had a rough time driving to Williamsburg, so I was happy to be back home. I wish I had more of a plan when I started to film at the park, but I really didn't have one, so I made the video more of a personal narrative than anything (hence the shots of me driving). I hope you guys liked it.
  11. I guess on Que here's a video I whipped together. I had to be the one person who videotaped everything we did. Except for the Apollo's Chariot ERT because I left early due to the humidity and motion sickness getting to me. I should have just thrown up and I would have been better, but nope. At least I got to see some great shows, hang out with some great people and eat some great food. The YouTube embedding wouldn't work for me, so here's the link. MOD EDIT: Fixed the embedding for you! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGoNCSqvk1s
  12. I would have gone that way, but I was advised by my Dad not to. Well I think I'll try it on the way back. Yeah, Outback is alright, but after 8 years I think I want to do something more me.
  13. I thought this topic disappeared forever! Well I have a Pre-TPR Day Report. This was my first time driving to Williamsburg all by my lonesome. Originally my sister was going to go with me, but she couldn't get off from work for it. I left Pittsburgh a bit later than I wanted to, but at least I got to eat breakfast with my family before I went. I left at noon and despite getting loss two times I checked in to Country Inn & Suites at 9:30. It's amazingly difficult to drive from Pittsburgh to Williamsburg. Google maps was even confused and it offered no good way to go. I managed to figure out a decent route where I went on the PA Turnpike from Monroeville to Breezewood. I went on I-70 to Winchester where I got on 17 East. Basically, I just wanted to stay on 17 the entire way because it goes straight to Yorktown (a hop, skip, and a jump from Williamsburg), but changes hands with Route 66 and that's where I messed up. I did get back on via Route 15, but it got really dark going into Yorktown and after making the right turn after the bridge that goes over the York River the road I was on veered off from the Colonial Parkway which is where I wanted to go, but ended up going 238 which took me 20 minutes away from my hotel. Check-in was interesting too because for some reason either Priceline or the hotel booked me under another name (different first name, but same last name), but luckily I printed out the confirmation page and brought it with me, so that was nothing but a minor inconvenience. Well after getting my luggage in I wanted to get something to eat and since I am an Outback Steakhouse employee I thought I would go to the Outback on 60 north west of Williamsburg, but unfortunately I couldn't find it because I got lost again! 60 turns into Route 5 and then into 143. I gave up and just grabbed McDonalds. Williamsburg is so confusing, especially at night. Anyway, I'm hoping for a really fun day tomorrow and I should be able to find the park since it's literally right down the road.
  14. I must admit I haven't been to Kennywood since two summers ago, but this is mainly because of me working everyday and finding it difficult to find a day off and have someone to go with. In fact, I had to put my foot down to go to the TPR day at BGW on Sunday and request off work. Believe me it is hard to request off Fathers Day if you work in a restaurant (second busiest day of the year). Anyway, with Kennywood being bought by other people and the removal of the Turnpike I've been losing a little interest. I haven't even ridden the Sky Rocket yet which I am shocked at myself for not doing. I guess amusement parks in my eyes are becoming like baseball games and trips to the movie theater. It's not that important to visit them on a regular basis. I of course used to drool over the idea of going to them and even had my own website dedicated to them along with Kennywood. I made park videos and everything before youtube became popular. Even with this trip to Busch Gardens on Sunday I'm doing it to mingle and enjoy the fact that I have three days of work off in a row (yay!). I will get in touch with my early interests on Sunday because I just bought a new camera to keep my film making skills sharp (I am one class shy of getting my Bachelor's in TV/Video Production). A documentary or concept music video? I haven't decided yet. Back to Kennywood, to me it will always be there, but it will always be changing, so I guess I should visit it again soon before it changes too much on me. I really miss the old Swingaround that was on top of the Garden Stage by the lagoon and the Hard Headed Harold's Horrendously Humorous Haunted Hideaway...
  15. Hey Robb, as far as filming at the park goes I know I shouldn't expect to film on the rides, but am I allowed to film during the tour? Based off the previous trip reports I've seen at other parks it seems okay.
  16. I registered the other day. I am so looking forward to this. Btw, I plan on taking ton of video while I'm there.
  17. The only "before and after" coaster that I've been on that had any significant difference (ex: new brakes on Kennywood's Jackrabbit don't add much to the experience) after the upgrade would be the Steel Phantom/Phantom's Revenge. Overall the newer Phantom's Revenge gives a more enjoyable experience. I'm not sure if I miss the Arrow loop and corkscrews of death!
  18. Hey Robb, I got the PM about still being interested in the trip and I am still interested. I'm waiting for the next paycheck to register.
  19. Hey Robb, I hope it's not too late or inconvenient, but I want to bring my older sister; Melissa, to the event. I'll be driving from Pittsburgh, so it'd be nice to have someone to go with me.
  20. "Vote or die!" Seriously, this would be awesome to do. I hope it happens and I'm marking it off, so I can go.
  21. ^^ ... seriously man. Rant all you want about it. That's excessive force and besides people here in Pittsburgh don't ever have this kind of thing happen. Remember G20? Stupid cops... let me add that I actually have great respect for police and their job because I have family who are police and they would agree with me.
  22. ^^ Well actually I'm right because I was there and it was excessive force. It was security's fault for letting the situation escalate like it did. ^You know what... you must be speaking of the superficial (we only like them win they win) fans because true Pirates fans have nothing to be disappointed about. Five World Series Championships and nine Pennants are what any ball club would want. That being said Chicago Cubs fans are probably suicidal. Go Pirates!
  23. So I went to the Rockies/Pirates game at PNC Park last Saturday for my sister's birthday. We sat in the Outfield Reserve section which were awesome seats, but what wasn't so awesome was the ruckus happening pass the Pirates foliage in the Bleachers Seats. The man was kicked out for disturbing the other fans and on his way out he hit a security guard and he got tasered and hit multiple times by Pittsburgh Police. I feel like this was excessive force. *For some reason the youtube tags weren't working. Edit: Oh yeah, here's video of Doumit's home run which landed 3 rows ahead of me. Doumit's HR
  24. I guess these kids never heard of porn.
