  1. I am surprised that it is not a Skyline! This is Six Flags' return to Vekoma for an attraction, which is exciting. Also I am glad it is an original name, and not slapping on a DC or Looney Tunes trademark.

  2. ^Yeah, finally some good news. Six Flags made a good decision.

  3. I think this family coaster is the best fit for the park at this time. It's fill the one big gap we had for the younger guests, and thank god it's not one of those prototype skyline coasters.

  4. Looks like it is a family coaster called rookie racer. "Get ready to start your engines! A new family coaster, Rookie Racer, is headed to Six Flags St. Louis this summer!" https://www.sixflags.com/stlouis/attractions/rookie-racer?fbclid=IwAR2bu--9GeYc25VI4Z5UblwDni5LgIO_ErB5x4v9kKBNnvUA6883ylakm5o

  5. Move on everyone. Also, Anyone who thinks ChickFilA isn't in the hate business is wrong. They're just better at hiding it after the backlash. Also, this is the most excitement CP will be getting this season!

  6. My last public comment in response to the above: I will not be apologizing for anything, as posting a link to a highly credible news site (USAToday) and asking for someone to back up their assertion is not something that I need to be sorry for. That is all....

  7. If youre going to make that statement, back it up with facts. I provided mine.

  10. Where is that guy that was sure that retheming Apocalypse to FORTNIGHT would stand the test of time?

  11. Call it Mr Freeze Remix [Mr Freeze-mix?] and have one side forward and the other backward. At least if the programing can handle it. Honestly though if what SFoT was doing with theirs mattered to SFStL they'd have already announced the change is happening here. I wouldn't really expect any change unless they were convinced of it internally.

  12. Just an idea of any potential "new area" plan they could possible undertake over a few year period that'd work without doing anything besides removing Dragon Swing. Edit: I'd like to clarify that I don't expect something like this to happen. But with capital expenditures back on the table and this particular addition only needing about half the space the go karts sat on (AND Dragon Swing also potentially out) there is certainly some room here to do a little something new for the park. And these smaller flats are quite cheap especially when bought as a package.

  13. Honestly they need to remove/ modify it though, I think everyone hates the queue the way it sits. Kinda like how they made a shortcut through Batman to when the park ain't busy.

  14. The only part of this layout tall enough to clear the train is the lift hill. And considering there's a helix right next to the lift hill this cannot cross the tracks. There's plenty of room next to The Boss to do anything really.

  15. Took care to get the scale super close. It might actually fit across the tracks without moving Boss' queue. Would certainly offer an interesting view of the lift hill. The only way it works on the Dragon Swing site is if you completely remove the entire new concrete plaza. And if you do this you ruin any chance of using the area the go karts were on - and even still it only works if you build over the water.

  16. I checked the dimensions using Frida as the baseline and the footprint length-wise is 250ft or so. There's less than 225ft available between the tent and the tracks - and that's a really narrow point. The main part of the layout is 70ft wide and at the point where that'd fit you're barely over 150ft available. This has to be across the tracks - and honestly they probably have to change Boss' queue too to get this to fit.

  17. I'd think if this was using the land Dragon Swing is on that'd have to be torn down by now, or at least very very shortly. If it actually is going in right there though that would potentially open the area between it and Boss up for one or more additional rides. Potentially a small family area? Something like a NebulaZ would work in an area like that.

  18. Yes, Frida looked very smooth. It will hopefully provide a more welcoming experience for my little girl's first coaster. Holidog Express is probably a little jerky.

  20. If I had kids, I think I'd prefer this to the Skyline racing coasters going to the other parks. This does not leave me with any worries about consistent operations; those do.

  21. A Vekoma? I see you Six Flags. I'm excited for what this means in the future... for other parks in the chain. Looks like this will be the first 247m (and this is a newer model in the family) Junior Coaster model going to North America. The other notable install is Frida at Energylandia (besides the ton in FECs in Asia).

  22. Double post, but the announcement is out. Apparently it's replacing the recently-added Caribbean Cove complex, which is what's most likely showing up at White Water in GA. Really seems to be continuing the company-wide theme of focusing on rides for younger children. No doubt this will be popular. ---- Six Flags Hurricane Harbor New Jersey is bringing all new kids’ attractions and park enhancements this summer. This investment features a brand-new tree house play structure, fourteen new kids’ slides, added rental cabanas, increased shade and a revitalized outdoor dining option. With non-stop soaking wet thrills, Hurricane Harbor will be the perfect place to escape the summer heat. Splash Island Kids will delight in the brand-new tree house play structure. With over 50 play features, young families will love the mini slides and curtain waterfalls. But no treehouse is complete without that gigantic water bucket perched high above and always ready to soak the splash-seekers below. Brand New Slides Guests will also find seven brand new colorful slides meant for smaller riders. The addition of Cowabunga, Jellyfish Twist, RipCurl, Shark Attack, Splashin’ Seal and Stingray Racer bring the perfect amount of drops and twists for little ones seeking a gentle thrill.

  23. According to STL Dispatch the new coaster will be located next to Boss: "The Rookie Racer will be located near the entrance to the Boss, a wooden roller coaster" https://www.stltoday.com/entertainment/six-flags-st-louis-announces-new-rookie-racer-a-steel-roller-coaster-shorter-guests-can/article_129fd996-7eed-5fe3-ba0d-1701cac1ddd9.html "It holds two passengers each in eight Formula 1-style coaster cars, which make for a total of 16 passengers for each run. The track is 843 feet, which includes an initial banked drop, a series of s-curves and a 540-degree horizontal loop."

  24. Much needed attraction! All parks need coasters for kids under 42 inches!!!!!

  25. I know it's not a headliner, but this is a very good addition to the park. It's sorely lacking in family attractions and this looks like a very nice adder. It'll also fill in an empty area, assuming it goes where the Go Karts were.

  26. @Haymaker You will have a PM in a few minutes demonstrating our point; not trying to clutter the thread with off-topic-ness. I expect a public apology to Bert and myself.

  27. For a park that needs restaurant capacity badly, I'm never against replacing a restaurant that can't be open on one of the busiest days of the week with one that can.

  29. Disappointing, but anticipated given that all of the other CF parks have done away with their custom Mac-n-Cheese places. And good riddance to Hate Chicken.

  30. If you Google “How many coasters does Dorney Park have”, the number 8 comes up because they have it in their media center. They probably didn’t remember that it was a thing when they removed Stinger (and/or they don’t really care).

  32. I have an impossible time believing that Six Flags would buy a fourth Nitro train. There is absolutely no reason to run more than two during Holiday in the Park, and they run three for the rest of the season without issue. My guess is that the 30,000 lb shipment is either a replacement lift drive and other parts for Green Lantern which was scheduled to be open for HITP but broken for the entire event (lol good) or 30,000 Nitro operations manuals with minimum temperature guidelines that they can use in the Holiday in the Park fire pits next season. As for the name, it’s dumb but I also don’t care. Just paint it… holy shit does it ever need it.
