PSA: Anyone planning a trip from any significant distance should check the refurb schedule. For the first few preview days, Montu will be closed and Sheikra will be closed through the beginning of March. If you don't live nearby and don't feel the need to be first, it's really not the ideal time to visit (especially that first week with both Montu and Sheikra down).4 points

I'd much rather go to Great Adventure when it's 35 degrees than 100 degrees. 100% No question...4 points

Here is the part anyone actually gives a shit about: As long as I can keep paying my $3.99 a month to get into any SF park w/ free parking I'm good.3 points

676 days. That is how long it has been since I last worked for a company that employed me for 21 years. They keep saying "oh, we're going to bring you back." It's been almost 2 full YEARS. I am OVER it. Literally. Most of my friends have returned to work or were able to transition to remote work. I am a professional musician. There is no "remote work" for me. I did everything right: masked, social distanced, got both Pfizer shots AND the booster. I STILL got Covid right after New Years. It sucked for about 3 days. Still have a lingering cough. But I am here. I survived. So to all those selfish entitled a$$holes who still insist it's not big thing and refuse to get vaccinated, F*CK YOU. It is due to people like you that we are in our 5th wave. I am still holding out hope that I may return to a job I loved and did well for over 2 decades. RANT over.2 points

Considering this version’s solid uptime rate, I’m sure parks are practically falling over eachother to order them.2 points

Mid month update in the hopes of holding myself accountable. Exercise is going fantastic so far this year. I'm averaging 12,535 steps, 99 mins, and 1,504 active calories a day. My move streak is still intact, currently at 295 days. The problem is eating. I've been on the "I'll start eating better tomorrow, I'll enjoy today" mindset all year so far. Despite my exercise, this mindset has ballooned my weight. This morning I weighed in at 254.8 pounds. Yikes. I'm a Type One diabetic and I saw my endocrinologist Tuesday. She was slightly disappointed that my A1C (your sugar average last 3 months) increased. I knew this was going to happen because I've been eating awful and I've seen my averages go up, its not like I was shocked. I was disappointed I let her down. I'm less confident in myself where I am at now that I was when I was around 220 pounds. And at 255 pounds, I'm starting to borderline getting walked of shamed again. Jeans are tighter, belt is bigger. This was the slap in the face I needed to get back on the right track. I know I can do it once I'm determined and motivated. I didn't magically lose 100 pounds. When the seasonal parks near me open in the spring, I do not want to be thinking about how tight restraints will be. I want to feel more free. I decided since yesterday was my birthday that I would still enjoy myself Tuesday and yesterday eating cake and whatnot, and that Thursday (today) I would start eating better. Scrap all my old goals, here are my new ones. And they are final. Close all my rings daily (which I am changing from 800 to 1,000 active calories and from 45 to 60 mins) Weigh 215 pounds by 5/24 (my next endo appointment) Have an A1C below 6.0 (will be taken 5/24) I'm confident I can do this, and of course I will update. The weight goal will be a push. When I lost 100, it was about a 2lb/week clip. This would be about 2.25/week, so similar but still an increase. I have a weekend trip planed to SDC & SFStL early April. If I keep that pace, I'll be around 230 lbs by then, which I was at this summer and had no problems at any parks.1 point

I'm excited for this one. The pacing looks amazing and (to me) gives it a different look than the other dives1 point

Glad to see all of the Busch/Sea World new rides finally get opening dates. I'm very tempted to get a Platinum pass this year and check them all out. I think that Emperor will be a great addition to SWSD and I like that the height requirement is 52 inches instead of 54 inches. I'd love to see them add a wooden coaster to round out their lineup a la SWSA, but I don't think they have the room for one.1 point

Well, there goes all the "What will open before Iron Gwazi" jokes...it was fun while it lasted... Glad it's finally opening, and I hope that this thing's rocky history is behind it... at this point, we for sure don't want any flying seatbacks on opening day!1 point

People who leave time on the microwave. How hard is it to clear the time? This breaks down into three categories: 1. Those who leave a single second. Just let it ding, goddammit. 2. Those who leave about 15 seconds left. Odds are it's not gonna burn if you let it go all the way. 3. Those who leave a minute or more. Why'd you even set the microwave for that long if you're gonna take it out that early? Literally I've seen coworkers put 5 minutes on the microwave and take it out after 30 seconds.1 point

"Simplified" At the end of the day... this. Most of us already have memberships, so this won't impact us at all aside from having to deal with more and more confusion from employees as time goes by using any of the perks.1 point

I'm as amused by the discussions I've seen elsewhere about how SF raising prices by so much is to help keep the riff-raff out, and to help restrict how many unsupervised teens are in the parks. yeah.. THAT'S why.1 point

It's time for the monthly update on Sandy's delayed reopening. It is now closed through 2/28/22.1 point

Wait... people honestly think that that one article hipped SF to the fact that they were bleeding money from memberships/dining plans?1 point

Wait...I thought it was beyond vertical? Is this another Six Flags budget cut...or are they just behind schedule again...1 point

Well people always complained about the food lines. Less dining plan guest should fix that1 point

They get exactly the attention this park deserves. Sorry no one wants to build a gigacoaster in a rust belt town with zero tourists.1 point

^ I'm not too sure, if I'll/we'll ever be able to come back to the U.S. But it's still nice to have the soundtracks of all the shows in Las Vegas. And beyond.1 point

no, I saw what he was doing. but I ignored it because it was a "dad-joke". . so instead gave an update on the status. edit: didn't' mean that to come across harsh. . . puns and dad jokes just aren't really things I enjoy much . . . but i got it.0 points
