  1. Fun fact! This was the boomerang that did not 'brake' like other boomerangs! Check out our video of it:

  2. Yeah, I'm expecting a shitshow. Hopefully people are just happy to get what they get for the first few weeks because the trade-off is waiting another month. For example: if someone shows up with a stupid refillable drink cup and complains on here that it took 45 minutes to fill it or something like that I'm just warning you now that I'm going to laugh at you. ...hard

  4. I hope I don't get banned for saying this, but I think Boomerangs with the new trains are actually OK.

  5. ^It's a hard call right now. The hours are shorter and there is much less entertainment, but if you're going for rides and can go mid-week when it's not busy it will be great for rides.

  6. The ride op that lives in my house just left for his opening day shift. No shortage of hours if anyone needs a job, he is scheduled for every single day they are opened over Spring Break through next Sunday. Hope they don't have staffing issues into the summer! I may make a visit during the week just to see how things look. Oh man someone commented on the FB post that reservations were sold out!. Yikes. Coasterdawg hope you get in........

  7. It had gone a little beyond that, but Ok. --------------------- Anyway, I don't believe Outlaw Run has gotten rough, aside from a pothole on the first drop that I experienced from opening year. That's kept it from making my list as a preferred back seat ride. I also hope the tree clearing doesn't expose the not so aesthetically pleasing maintenance area. Hopefully Herschend doesn't continue to plow through trees. Historically, they've walked the fine line between new attractions and retaining the old school charm, which differentiates the park from corporate parks. I feel like I'm getting old just by saying that.

  8. So, yeah... How about those theme parks, eh?

  9. That's good to hear! I'm also seeing that a 5 day park hopper ticket is the same price as 10 day admission. That will be plentyyy enough time to do everything and be able to reride the big rides that I really enjoy. There's so much good food and drink all over Disney I am not concerned there, I have actually been to Ohana when I visited Universal, my group took me over there for dinner and I understand the love people have for it and those types of restaurants.

  10. At least it sounds like they'll open Alpengeist if the park gets busy. I'm deliberately going to visit on an upcoming Saturday to see if I get lucky. Otherwise I'll keep eating pretzels and plunging 200 feet on Apollo and Griffon.

  11. It's been awhile since the last post but there are some hopes for the 2021 season at Waldameer. It was revealed in a local news article that the park is making several changes to improve the park for it's 125th season. Here's the breakdown: The Fate Of The "2021" Rides: In the original plan, Waldameer was going to continue their current 10 year plan and add two new rides to the park. The type of ride and location were not known but what do we know is that these rides are cancelled according to owner Paul Nelson. He revealed that only 27% of their regular attendance showed up to the park for 2020 and with borrowing over $1 million just to open this year, it was almost no shocker that these rides are cancelled. Now it's possible it could be on hold for 2022 but even 2022 is uncertain at this time. Fun Cosmetic Upgrades: Over the past few months, it was revealed over social media that several rides would get "fun cosmetic upgrades" for the 2021 season. It's unknown what rides will be repainted or what but it's basically open arms at this point. Speculate all you want and what happens but I am interested on what rides get these upgrades. It can be anything from repaints to new lights or other improvements but again, all open arms! New Water World Entrance: Nelson revealed that a new and improved entrance will be constructed for Water World. According to Nelson, this new entrance can get you in twice as fast. As for my speculation, I think there's one area to address and that's the current entrance near Comet. This area can be a bottleneck, especially on busy days and for the expanding water park, a new and improved entrance is well needed. I am overall happy that a bottleneck area is being addressed. It's possible a brand new entrance could be constructed but I have my doubts with that. New Food Stand: Nelson reveled that a new food stand will debut for the 2021 season. This will go where the former Zeke's Shack shooting game used to be. This game operated until 2019 and never opened for 2020, suspecting that new developments are near. A Dipping Dots stand was also removed in that area. We sadly don't know what food items it will cater but it's all fun and games. I suspect that a pasta bar of some sort could be in that area. Pasta is a food item that is missing in Waldameer's lineup. I see something similar to the Mac Bowl at Cedar Point where you can customize your mac and cheese with various cheeses and toppings. Imagine white cheddar with bacon!!! That's my dream but who knows what will be added? New Food Tent: The last major upgrade Waldameer will be addressing will be a new large tent where the former Showtime Theater once stood. There was a tent there before but that was for the theater and was torn down after the 2020 season. According to Nelson, it will "keep you out of the rain and have a place to eat if it does sprinkle." I can't comment on much and what it will be built but it should be a nice upgrade from the previous one. Overall, I am excited for the 2021 season at Waldameer. While its not what is planned (still sad about the two rides not being here), making cosmetic upgrades and addressing some rough patches will help Waldameer move forward in the future. Season Pass Photo Days will be May 1st and 2nd, as well as the 7th and 8th. Opening day is the 15th. As a closer, I am quietly working on my biggest video in 3 years and will cover the entire history of the park! Stay tuned! 12. I would anticipate everything being open when you visit. Even if you get unlucky with weather (April in Utah is quite unpredictable...), most rides will operate in rain or cold temperatures. As long as there is no crazy thunderstorm or snowstorm, you're good.

  13. Condos? The park's in the boondocks of PA. The rides are not on the lake like a boardwalk park, but the property does have some lakefront space.

  14. Is it bad to say that, at this point, I literally don't remember the last coaster I rode?
