IwantRevenge Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I started this topic on CoasterForce a while back. Pretty much what are your favorite and Least Favorite restriants. Mine are: These Arrow OTSRs are the worst. I love B&M OTSRs Intamin OTSRs
Movieguy Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I'm really not sure what the big deal is about headbanging on restraints anyway. I've never really had that problem, though I guess my head has been thrown around a bit more than once. I guess I just have a head like a rock. I guess my vote would go to the B&M restraints.
verticalzero Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Lap-Bars are the best restraints on a coaster as you can do the "1 click" so there is lots of room between you and the bar so you get Max Airtime. B&M should try it on their Inverted coasters.
jamesdillaman Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 ^ I have to agree, the clamshells are wonderful, like sitting in an easy chair. If I got stuck on one, I would have no trouble napping while waiting for the problem to be taken care of. -James Dillaman
viking86 Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Best: Schwarzkopf lapbars because they give you so much space and freedom. Worst: The U-shaped non-padded lapbars on Thundercoaster. The seats are awesome, but the lapbars sucks. Flying into a steel bar going over a hill isnt very comfortable, and its easy to hurt your knees on them.
kennywood!007 Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I really liked the lapbars on the Screamin' Swing I rode (Swing Shot) The were really nice to me. I liked the seats to! But coaster-wise I would have to say the B&M clamshells, no doubt!
robinschroder Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 ^ I agree that S&S's screaming swing lapbars are really nice. I like the fact that they're designed to have some 'play' in them which means that even if you're stapled in, you're not actually stapled if you see what I mean! The only downside is that they (or maybe, more accurately, their sensors) seem to cause a lot of problems/downtime though (at Thorpe Park at least). I hated the restraints on Deja Vu - namely the lump that jolts into your chest! I thought that my rib-cage had been broken!!
woah_killa Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Agreed with everybody else about B&M clam shells. However, I don't like Magnum XL's lap bars, they hurt when you get airtime.
Darien Laker Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I like most B&M restraints, they're very comfortable and don't get in the way. I don't like the Intamin ones on S:ROS because they crush certain areas.....and I hate Arrow and Vekoma's 80's trains so much, not just the restraints.
apollo210 Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Best: B&Ms Megacoaster Trains! Worst looking: SLC trains.
matteocrepaldi Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I really like B&M clamshells. Also the seats are really confortable. The only thing I don't like about them is that I'm tall enough to keep my feet on the train platform.
coasterguy618 Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 The B&M t-bar on the hypers. They are so friggin comfortable.
Rollerfreak Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 Hands down (or up in our case!) B&M mega trains!
YoshiFan Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 My favorite is the lap bar on Schwarkopz loopers My least favorite are the OTSR's on Pinfari Loopers, even without pulling the restraint that far, it still hurts your shoulders after the ride.
vjgx Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 I'd have to say my favorite is the B&M OTSR... I don't really have any problem with Arrow OTSRs, because my head doesn't get banged around... but shoulders only do.
okinawaboy11 Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 Oh I hate Arrow suspended restraint's. Stratch that, make it the entire seat. Iron Dragon has NO padding on the seats, and I hurt my booty and spine when I ride it. (yes, I just said booty).
coasterbilly Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 gotta go with CCI and GCI restraints, love em! As well as the Intamin U shaped restraints on El Toro, i thought they were quite comfy! Least is prolly Premier Rides lapbars (Chiller, Flight of Fear, etc), i like em better then the OTHR's but they're still bulky and can hurt
Guy T. Koepp Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 The best steak I ever had was at Dominicos in Las Vegas. It is owned py a person that I am honored to call a friend. Emril Lagasse. My God! the food there is the schiznet. They have a turtle gumbo that will rock your socks. Also, I don't know how they do it but their cheesy garlic mashed potatoes are the greatest thing ever. The only way a meal could get better there is if it were all you can eat. I loves me some Delmonicos.
mb425 Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 ^ I think he read restaurant instead of restraints, as I did when I first clicked this thread. As for me, I prefer Intamin T bars, that is minus all the stupid seat belt problems/rules that they have that "make the ride more safe!" Mathias "Because 1/2" of slack on my seat belt is going to save me if my lap bar malfunctions, whereas 1/4" won't!" B.
Guy T. Koepp Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 Oh! RESTRAINTS! Anything not over the shoulder. I thought the topic was Restaurants spelled incorrectly. Mabey I should read the topic first before goint right to the end and posting. Anywhoo... ...anything not over the shoulder. Does that answer the question? Guy "Dominicos still Rocks!" Koepp
