I don't want nor see a 5th park coming soon, if ever.

Maybe something more unique - it doesn't have to be a park. A resort, waterpark, entertainment thingy, golf course.. etc. is another possible option....

Well hey what about this...They did Beauty & the Beast, Aida, Lion King, and now Mary Poppins on Broadway- what about a Broadway themed park?! I can see it now- Cats- the coaster- the line lasts for what seems like "now and forever."

Oh, this would be cool- Starlight Express- it could be a race between a steel coaster and a wooden coaster!

I think they need to focus on building up their 4th park a little bit more before breaking ground on the 5th park, as well as continuing to spice up their 2nd gate. I wouldn't count on seeing any new gates at WDW for a few more years, but who knows exactly how long it would take them to have the whole thing built. They could announce it in 2006 and it not open until 2012-2015.

Im really hoping for a Villian-based theme park full of thrill rides.

But I agree, they really need to make sure AK is solid before they build anything else.

^I really like that idea of a villian themed park, that would be really good.

I agree with everybody else in here though. Disney isn't at all ready to move into a new park. I think all of their current parks need some TLC before they can look into a new one

Well they are updating Pirates right now, guess that's their next big thing. I hear they're supposed to give space mountain the kind of facelift they gave it in CA, don't know when though.

There's still a lot more needed at the existing 4 parks before they should even think about building a 5th gate, but I bet the Imagineers have at least an idea of what it would be. I would guess IF they ever added a new park it would be a 'mostly thrills' park like Cali Adventure to compete with IOA's thrill rides but a Disney Sea/Adventure themed park would be excellent. I don't see it coming this decade.

Get Magic Kingdom a new eticket first! Then we'll talk.

I want a Florida DisneySea!

Mmmm Journey...

I agree, I want a Disneysea in Florida! I have always wanted to go to Disneysea in Japan. The theming looks amazing.

Although I would love to see DisneySea myself (I will one day) would it not be nicer, if a 5th gate would come, to have something unique? Or is a DisneySea clone something most people would like to see?

I would settle for a 'Journey' ride at one of the WDW parks. (guess it would make sense at AK) It's the main reason why I'd want to check out Disney Sea.

The water theme would totally work in Florida. That Indy coaster looks like a good addition, if it's anything like a Pinfari 42! It could be the fun place that DCA never quite got to...

I seriously think that Disney should also "solidify" Animal Kingdom and give Magic Kingdom another major new attraction.

I would like to see a thrills park, but it'll never happen.

I think a 5th gate is at the very least 10-15 year into the future. There is so much to do at WDW already, and since they are already on the virge of pricing themselves out of the middle class market, I think it would be pretty dumb to rush to open a fifth park. Their current parks could use more stuff, or major rehabs of some older stuff, and I'd much rather see that than another half-built park like Animal Kingdom was when it opened. What I would actually love to see out of them is something totally out of the box...a place that is big and fun but not a theme park, ala Ski Dubai.

But if they are intent on opening a 5th gate, something like DisneySea would be awesome. And I also agree that a thrill park will never happen out of Disney.

I remember waaayyy back when they knocked around the idea of a "Boardwalk" park.... they later build the Boardwalk resort, but Paradise Pier at DCA is actually what I remember them saying the WDW was going to be like. I still think I would like to see something like that.....

I agree with Julie though... where do you draw the line. As it stands right now, it's tough for the middle income folks like me to afford anything beyond about 4-5 days, and that is barely enough for the four existing parks.

I put the second part of my rant live; 5th Gate: NOW

your visit would be a honnor to me

with the question added; Would you visit Dubailand once finished. (Or the Korea one, as that one looks awesome)

I think a 5th gate will happen sooner rather than later because Disney wants people on their property for the whole 7 day vacation and a 5th park would tie people up with Disney parks and waterparks for 6 days with the 7th(really two half days) for travel so a vacation would look something like this.

Sunday - Arrive take Disney bus to hotel check in head off to AK

Monday - MK

Tuesday - 5th park/evening at Downtown Disney

Wednesday - One of the waterparks

Thursday - Disney MGM Studios/evening at Boardwalk

Friday - Epcot

Saturday - MK for 1/2 day then return home

^ Not sure if that would be the reason to get a 5th gate as many people do visit several park multiple times on a trip....

Does anybody remember a rumor that was circulating, about Disney looking into creating a theme park based on MYST? Which would of course, probably be on the WDW site.

I remember it coming up in an old Disney Magazine article, an interview with one of the Imagineers.

And this would be a pricy park in itself, since it would be on an island with the appropos 'stuff' that Myst has/had for peeps to explore, etc.

Yes? No? Comments on...?

I would like them to come out with DisneyAir. Maybe that'll be the third Tokyo Disney Resort gate someday. Get it? DisneyLand, DisneySea and DisneyAir?

Walk through the clouds, visiting with Peter Pan, Dumbo and anybody else who can fly in the Disney lexicon.

I think that the DLR in Cali will get a third gate before Fla gets a fifth. There is alot of talk about a waterpark here in So Cal. I know that Disney is buying up property whenever it becomes available in Aneheim. They own two huge plots less than a block down Harbor and Disney Wy. that they are using for parking now.

Wait a minute. Which gates include Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Wouldn't that make it a 7th gate if they get a new park anyway?

Ah well, just my two cents.
