gisco Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Nice angle indeed! Working on setting up a tour before the 2012 season ends, so look for more Wild Eagle Construction Photos on the horizon! What's the rush? You have a whole year!
Chroniq Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Dollywood recently posted this video on their Wild Eagle blog. I'm not sure what to make of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pP6Cq_CHbko My theories in order from least likely to most likely 1. Dollywood announces a second smaller coaster for 2012 2. Dollywood previews Wild Eagle during their Christmas event (I've heard the trains aren't even on site yet?) 3. Dollywood opens their existing coasters for one day close to Christmas for free or for passholders (which is why they included the buzzard from Mystery Mine). 4. Dollywood is just trying to sell season passes with some sort of Christmas season pass promotion. Thoughts?
DJeXeL Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 ^^With a real Stengel dive. Hopefully someone senses my poor attempt at extreme sarcasm.....
coasterlover420 Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I want Intamin track going through my living room too!
ernierocker Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) 4. Dollywood is just trying to sell season passes... Bingo. Aquatrax. Extra bingo! Edited December 19, 2011 by ernierocker
ernierocker Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) Aquatrax. Oh, and it is called Project 90210. Not saying anything beyond that. Edited December 19, 2011 by ernierocker
Philrad71 Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Interesting! We'll be going on the 28th so my Christmas wish is that Dolly meets us at the gate & let's us walk on an open front row of Wild Eagle!!! Oh yeah...congrats to Sha-Kon-O-Hey!!!! I swear I had that song going through my head for the rest of the afternoon when we were at Dollywood this past summer! Sha-Kon-O-Heyyyyyyy: FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!
jedimaster1227 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Oh, and it is called Project 90210. Not saying anything beyond that.
Chroniq Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 This is going to be the best Christmas ever. One of my favorite parks is getting a wingrider and an aquatrax..Does anyone know what the name of the new aquatrax ride will be?
SharkTums Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 "these are my rivers, flowing like a song"
Chroniq Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Wingrider = Wild Eagle. Aquatrax= Mild Seagull
ernierocker Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) Heading to the park tomorrow. Will be sure to thoroughly look for any survey markers for the new aquatrax. And if I have time, I'll do a Wild Eagle Construction tour as well. Edited December 20, 2011 by ernierocker
deguy123 Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Dollywood deserves that award 100%! Wild Eagle looks amazing and can't wait to head back there in the future!
dragonskeep Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I think all of those are good suggestions. What about one of those new Stan Checketts things, it is eagley and they do have a mountain. Maybe a replacement for Sky Zip. Not a coaster but it would be cool at Dollywood.

SharkTums Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 ^What's going on with Sky Zip? I really enjoyed it, didn't realize there were issues.
ernierocker Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 ^Basically the company that owns SkyZip was suing Dollywood over negative impacts caused by the construction of Wild Eagle. Here is a story from the summer about it: http://themountainpress.com/view/full_story/14351300/article--Zipline-company-sues-Dollywood- Last I heard, the issue was still up in the air and SkyZip's future was not 100% certain, but they "planned" to reopen it with the park next season. (SkyZip has been closed for most of this season)
