^A 42" height limit would be nice. PowderKeg has a 42" height limit, but most launched coasters are at least 48" I believe. Even Manta at San Diego is 48". Probable has something to do with the state it is in.

^A Powder Keg type ride would certainly get our vacation dollars and possibly a TPR Trip next summer! Especially since KT has named Powder Keg her number one steel coaster!

^Especially a Powder Keg with a highly themed dark ride section. I still think this will be more on the level of Manta at SeaWorld San Diego, but will of course be thrilled with something with the intensity of Powder Keg!

I love the idea of the launch coaster, I just dont like the name that has been circulating. Firechaser Express? Meh....

Lots of digging and surveying going on, on the AM site. Looks like they are preparing to get construction into full swing once the announcement is made.

I was also told, by park security, that Dolly herself will make an appearance in the parade today.

I have a friend who works at Dollywood in marketing. I tried to get some "inside information", but she is refusing to spill the beans. LOL! I guess I'll have to wait for the announcement like everyone else. The suspense is killing me though.

Thanks to you we're going to make Dollywood into an Outlet Mall in 2014, sponsored by Express for Men.

I still think this is the best guess so far.

Still the most educated guess.

^ Interesting find. If that is indeed the concept they are going with I'll be happy. The Dollywood cabins are done so well that a whole resort with that same feel and inspiration would be perfect. Especially if some of the rooms have the ridiculous large and awesome wood bunk beds found in the cabins. Getting more anxious for the announcement on the 21st.

This is all at Dollywood if you look closely. It basically takes up the entire land between the parking lot and Thunderhead. The wooded ridge that's east of tram road and the parking lots, across the river. The cabins will be built all the way down the ridge all the way to tram stop F (Far left of the site plan)

Just a note: if its been posted online already it's usually a sign that the concept was rejected. You can find a number of similar concept skeches for sdc, but the story behind most of them are that the company developed them as a portfolio piece/practice and the park wasn't interested. Could be different this time though. I imagine it's in the same vein at least. I really like it.
