trustkill22 Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Aww man I watched the start of that CAN - ITA womens hockey game and that wasn't that great of a win because Italy first of is not known for hockey and they had 15 year old girls on the team but Canada needs the goals so if there is a tie with the wins and losses it will go by GF and GA so. And i'm also happy that Canada also got a gold medal on the first day in the womens freestyle moguls. ALRIGHT. LETS GO CANADA
FlyingScooter Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 I'm watching the figure skating now. Man, the stuff they do is amazing. If I spun like that, my brains would fly out.
Blazen_AZN Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 NOOO!!!!!! They just announced Michele Kwan had withdrawed from the games! I really wanted to see her finally get her gold medal that has been hung infront of her face for so long. bleh. What? So i watch figure skating, F*** off!
viking86 Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 YAY Norway just got gold and bronze medals in todays skijumping contest after the most exciting second half ever. And Frode Estil from Norway got silver medal today in men's cross country, even after breaking his ski when he fell after only a few feet. Yngve "this has been such an exciting day" Oestbye
TheStig Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 W00T the luge is scheduled for 4:00 today! I really love the luge/skeleton/bobsled events, they are the coolest IMO. But yeah that’s a real shame that Michele Kwan had to withdraw, she’s been wanting the gold forever. But yeah they Canadians anilated the Russians today, 12-0 I think, that’s amazing! Colin C
Joe Cool Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Yeah Shawn White took the gold in half pipe last night. Apolo Anton Ohno really screwed himself, he should of just stayed in second and never tried to pass that one guy.
FlyingScooter Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 ^agreed. That was just the Semi-finals. Bode didn't do well either... bummer.
dandaman Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 I really love the luge/skeleton/bobsled events, they are the coolest IMO. Look for Suzanne Gavine-Hlady of Canada on Monday. That's my gym teacher's wife.
Hattuchili Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 OMG, the last 2 days the German athlets were so bad! I hope they will really be better in the next days! --Sören
Tömmioh Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 I'm happy that Finland got a silver in men's Ski jumping and Markku Koski quite surprisingly won a bronze in Half-Pipe, but it's slightly annoying that if Antti Autti hadn't slipped Finland could've got another medal. Anyway, I hope they win more soon.
Chrissie Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Did anyone watch the figure skating last night? How sore did it look when the Chinese girl fell??
FlyingScooter Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 ^I saw that! That was a BAD fall! It hurt to watch it. I've seen skaters fall before, but nothing like that... I can't believe she got up and continued. I think they were doing a quad throw and she landed on 1 knee...
socalMAN123 Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 A little bit off topic, but does anyone know the TV schedule for today? I'm sick and I'm really interested in watching the Olympics. ^^ Oh man, she hit the ice hard! I'm so glad I suck at ice skating! ---Brent
Hattuchili Posted February 14, 2006 Author Posted February 14, 2006 I can´t believe it, 3 new medals for Germany: 2 gold and 1 silver medal! --Sören
Jonathan Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Nothing like being able to watch hockey for 12 hours straight. Russia got Gaborik'ed USA got Irbe'ed
Shockwave Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 How awesome was Snowboard Cross? Well done to Seth Wescott on winning for the USA. Skeleton Bob is on now - better than any rollercoaster Bobsled ride!
Inferno Insane Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Yay Great Britain Win a Medal, Sliver on the skeleton by Shelley Rudman. Loving The Winter Olympics This Year, been quite injoyable so far. Hope we win something again in Curling like 4 years ago.
robbeal Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Wow, you got replies over here, when I posted one on CF, it fell on deaf ears! I've been really looking forward to the games for quite a while now, but I stuffed the timing of my operation right up, so that I recovered and had to go back to uni just in time for the start of the games, and the lack of Eurosport at uni means that i've missed pretty much everything I wanted to watch. Fortunately, my mum has been Sky+ing things at home for me, so I can have an olympics-fest when I get home tomorrow.
Ed Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Wow, you got replies over here, when I posted one on CF, it fell on deaf ears! Well y'know if it doesn't have Thorpe Park in the title... *ahem* I've watched the odd few events and saw the Skeleton Bob today.. Christ I would never do anything like that. How people get into an event like that is beyond me. Congrats to Shelley for our silver medal.
ParkTrips Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 IMO, CBC's Olympic coverage is lightyears ahead of NBC. For one, they almost never show anything live. Last night, I watched 2 encore presentations of the Opening Ceremonies on CBC... the NBC coverage hadn't even staretd yet. I agree, I wish I still had my dish. I got a kick out of the music selection for the opening ceremony I'm glad Bode Miller got DQ'd, that's just beyond awesome!
arrowfanman Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Wow, you got replies over here, when I posted one on CF, it fell on deaf ears! Well y'know if it doesn't have Thorpe Park in the title... *ahem* ...that put a smile on my face. -Jahan P.S. Some of these sports are really crazy!
Jonathan Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 WTF USA women's hockey??? What happened?!!?! That was an awesome game, but christ, USA and Canada aren't supposed to lose a game ever. What an upset.
Jonathan Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 GERBER!!! 49 saves! First shutout of Team Canada since they were shutout by the Soviets in 1988!
