DoinItForTheFame Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 So, we went shopping yesterday for presents for the extended family... We found this store where EVERYTHING IS A DOLLAR!!! HOLY CRAP!!! Did you know such a place existed?!?! We were able to get all the gift bags and tissue paper we needed for wrapping for little to nothing!! I was shocked!! I think I may have a new favorite place to buy wrapping paper, and gift bags!!
Nrthwnd Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 ^ It's a learning experience, heh. I discovered a DollarPlus store locally, that had this great horseradish sauce. And it's only $1.25! (hence the "Plus") I use the place for b-day cards, candles, stocking stuffers, party supplies, even reading glasses! Great places these are. The bigger ones are a-may-zing!
ytterbiumanalyst Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 So, we went shopping yesterday for presents for the extended family... Now here's something you bought that I can relate to. We love Dollar Tree. The kids love it too, because it's just about the only store where we don't have to tell them no. They can each pick out one thing they want, and all in I've spent $3.25.
cal1br3tto Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 The great thing about Dollar Tree, which is what we have here, is that everything really is $1 or less. Sad you can't count on that in a dollar store, though, isn't it?
Nrthwnd Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Dollar Tree Rewls! More candles and cards there = $12 Cdn. C'est Cheap!
tinaalsgirl Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 I got a $25 Amazon gift card for Christmas, so I bought myself a 12th Doctor Sonic Screwdriver keychain; a Funko Pop Loki keychain; and a Funko Pop of Elizabeth from Bioshock: Infinite.
cal1br3tto Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Amtrak choo-choo ticket ($16) and a concert ticket ($19.70) for tomorrow night. Trying to have the worst Sunday morning ever! (Next purchase: stock in Red Bull?)
Nrthwnd Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 Couldn't resist this, but I was hoping there was a TOMICA car or truck of some kind, related to my (pretty much) all-time fave Disney-Pixar movie... Ratatouille. Just found this trio of vehicles on eBay, so I bought the set, and I'll get it around the beginning of February. Cost: $48.99(US) with Free Shipping to Canada. Ratatouille's all about food, so what's not to love?
cal1br3tto Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 Amtrak choo-choo ticket ($16) and a concert ticket This time it's for my favoritest band. I strongly considered seeing them in two cities (which is still possible), but ultimately(?) decided to savor a single time. A new mouse for $30. I'm partial to rats, but any kind of rodent is...oh, wait.
Canobie Coaster Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 A new mouse for $30. I'm partial to rats, but any kind of rodent is...oh, wait. The house I watched the football games at probably had a real mouse. He had all sorts of random pets- scorpions, turtles, snakes, birds, and spiders. Speaking of the games, my last purchase was $2 for Market Basket's tortilla chips.
Nrthwnd Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 Door stickers for "The Year of The Dog" - $1.88 cdn
thrillseeker4552 Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 A pack of twinkies this morning because I needed something to eat before class. About $2.
Canobie Coaster Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 A walking, talking Buddy figure from Secret Life of Pets.
cal1br3tto Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 White wall plate to replace a hideous, lady-parts-looking phone jack. $0.25. (I have a ton of replacing to do, but I need to count up what I need, and I'm not looking forward to the [admittedly simple] electrical work.) Remnant of a non-slip mesh mat, to prevent furniture migration. $1.
cal1br3tto Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 A PlayStation Vita. Never even heard of it until yesterday.
ytterbiumanalyst Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Really? Awesome! I bought mine as soon as it came out 6 years ago amd have loved it. Best handheld system yet. Bought my tickets to see Black Panther next week at Alamo Drafthouse. $16.00
DoinItForTheFame Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Lunch... Sadly the last thing I bought was lunch. And I used a coupon!! So my Subway lunch was only $4.98 for a footlong, drink, and chips!
cal1br3tto Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 $3.13 out of pocket; $15.13 total (I used a gift card I bought myself).
Nrthwnd Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 ^ COOL! I love it/them/whatever! Hope you get some good 'light' from them, lol. $20 - indiv. bottle of cider and a pink sparklingly SWEET (ick) wine David loves.
ytterbiumanalyst Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 These Game of Thrones glasses at a flea market for $6.
