psaulaferraz Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 ^About that first retrtacked bit on stampida: how were the laterals? You only mentioned them in the last part and I remember one of the things I found the most fun about the coaster were the laterals. I only rode it once but that one ride wasn't really rough. Not smooth, but not too rough at all. However, I'm glad they've been taking care of it as apparently it got quite shaky and uncomfortable. Although the curves are more banked, they still have a bunch of laterals. The turnaround after the double up is pretty forceful (in terms of Lateral G's). I found the first part to be glassy smooth, but the second part is rough as hell and the last curve just kills you.
Gabri999 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Yes, Stampida have the half of the track changed, the other part is old... The next year the Park will continue with the re-track... In theory, the logic says that the next year will be finished, but in two years only did the first middle part... Enviado desde mi Aquaris M5 mediante Tapatalk
Trevor Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Some news about the project. The park (PortAventura) installed a scaled model of Ferrari Land with a countdown: Seems like a new kiddie ride will be located inside a patio, it looks like a Zamperla Speed Race: http://www.zamperla.com/products/speedway/9 On the other side, the coaster has already all the big logos on it! Additionally, the park also started uploading a webserie with the construction of the park. In this second episode the construction of the logos can be seen: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
DoinItForTheFame Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 After those photos this is the first time I have noticed that this coaster is not hydraulically launched. I'm curious to find out how the launch compares, force wise, to coasters like Top Thrill Dragster, and Kingda Ka.
_koppen Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 I really like the look of this ride! After those photos this is the first time I have noticed that this coaster is not hydraulically launched. I'm curious to find out how the launch compares, force wise, to coasters like Top Thrill Dragster, and Kingda Ka. If I remember correct there will only be three cars on the train, so regarding the forces it will most likely be very similar. The only differences will probably be that this magnetic launch will loose some of the intensity toward the end of the launch compared to the hydraulic one who is pretty consistent all throughout the launch.
Samuel Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Some not-so-subtle nods to TTD on that bleacher idea!

gerstlaueringvar Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Let me just say I'm dying to see photos of the current state of the brake run.
_koppen Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 It dosen't look that bad. It was probably some tweaking needed for the foundations.
rcjp Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Yeah it doesn't look bad although none of those pics offers quite que same point of view as some of the others did.
Henry M Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Yeah it doesn't look bad although none of those pics offers quite que same point of view as some of the others did. I would like to see an exact view or one straight down the track to see if it has changed. I hope it has.
JordyC Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 The "bump" at the brake run looks way more subtle from this angle. And that's a good thing! Thanks for the update!
JordyC Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 (edited) YEEESS!!! Can't wait to see these trains shooting up that massive structure! Edited September 3, 2016 by JordyC
Henry M Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 From what I can see they are how I expected the trains to look. Red, racing car shaped, new over head lap bars. Looks nice.
RyanTPM Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 ^Looks like they have the same style restraints as Tarons
Henry M Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Yes, that is what I thought. Never tried that style, but hope to soon.
RCT3Bross Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Happy to see them going for these lap-bars instead of the old desing. Looks great I hope I can make it next year.
KingRCT3 Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Never tried that style, but hope to soon. Among the best trains in the market, if not the best. As comfortable as Mack, but with more freedom on the upper body.
oriolat Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I am glad to see trains being installed on the transfer track. I have a question for those who have ridden Taron: do these trains feature seatbelts?
Henry M Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Never tried that style, but hope to soon. Among the best trains in the market, if not the best. As comfortable as Mack, but with more freedom on the upper body. And I thought the Mack ones were free! Free falling from this height with these restraints will be amazing.
