Geauga Dog
Well I just got back from Six Flags St. Louis Media Day for Justice League Battle for Metropolis. You can tell that Six Flag's St.Louis has seriously upped their game for creating a state-of-the-art 4D dark ride. Six Flags has partnered with Sally Corporation, they designed the complete experience of the ride. Pure Imagination are the geniuses behind the Computer Generated Imagery. Alterface are the ones behind the interactive game play. And finally Oceaneering is what tied this ride together. I truly believe if they did not have a part in JLBFM, it would not be the ride it is. Thanks so much for your review. I am very impressed with how the ride turned out and your pictures are excellent. I hope that I'll get to come back to SFStL and ride it someday. Vonni
When our park gets Batman backwards I'm not sure I'm going to ride it. I've heard too many reports of it being nauseating. When? Who said we were getting namtaB? Assuming its going to make a stop at each park
ilrider
When we get Batman backwards I'm not sure I'm going to ride it. I've heard too many reports of it being nauseating. Edit: I apologize for the double post. My phone messed up and I didn't think my comment posted. I was on Dramamine when I rode it at SFGAm and was still incredibly dizzy when I got off. Could not walk straight for several steps. It was fun during the ride, though. I am not a big backward coaster fan. I find it very gimmicky and only do it once typically, for the experience. HARLEYGUYJB
I wanted to share this "behind the scenes" video of JLBFM. I wanted to get more of these types of video, but this is the only spot Six Flags would allow us to access during the media day event. RollerManic
I've noticed that because of our layout, the flames are further from the vehicles.
HWFan
This ride is absolutely amazing. The sound effects on Justice League were absolutely phenomenal. I also thought the volume was perfect. The way the cars move is very impressive. The cars can move 360 degrees. They are very quiet and don’t distract you from the ride at all. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this exact ride pop up at other Six Flags parks in the near future. This ride will be very popular for many years. You can tell that lots of detail and design went into this ride. I just wanted to add a couple notes to some of the great pictures you posted from media day. Marc is the director of Corporate Alliance. If you ever get a chance to talk to him, he's a really interesting guy. His work has affected the entire industry, so we're lucky to have him at our park. I had always assumed that once you programmed one vehicle, the program was just copied to all of them. However, apparently each vehicle must be programmed separately. If you look at the side of the front row, you can see that this is the ADA compliant vehicle that allows people in wheelchairs to easily transfer to the ride vehicle. It's even nicer because the seat is the perfect height compared to rides like Gobbler Getaway where there is a step up into the vehicle, making it harder. I stopped by guest relations and gave her a guest compliment but they guy working the window didn't write anything down. The park LOVES getting compliments for team members, so even if he didn't write anything down, I can almost guarantee it made it into the system. Mad Hatter
I'm curious to the wait time with a full que. I saw some pics on Twitter showing it full of Gold Pass preview members but no one has stated the wait time.
RollerManic
I was wondering the same thing! I wish they would bring that back! With the New Justice League: Battle For Metropolis and members of the Justice League roaming the park (Six Flags is auditioning super heroes), now would be a great time to bring back our Batmobile. This would be awesome. I take it that the Superheroes aren't ride ops (think Batman 1995), mostly assuming that 905 of them are captured in the story. Although that would be pretty cool. Do rideops have to wear the highlighter shirt for safety reasons? I wonder how long these superheroes will last. Dave said he wants to keep the ride running with all effects for a long time, but he never mentioned any of the promotional stuff going along with the ride. Mad Hatter
Just read this on Twitter - posted 30 minutes ago. @SFStLouis Been in line since 12:41pm for Justice League. It is now 3:25pm, we have not move in 20 mins. BS that the ride is not ready! Apparently the ride is broke down already. There were other angry Twitter posts as well. I hope they have this ironed out by the time I get in line Thursday!

The ride operators just wear the normal Six Flags employee polo shirts. However, as of last year, the shirts are no longer "highlighters" as they made the switch to royal blue (a la Holiday World). Our park does have Batman, but I don't think we have any of the other heroes. Those were the same actors that did the media day in Texas as well. If you read the sign outside JLBFM they're calling it a "Technical Rehearsal" They told us once you're at the emergency exit inside, the wait would be about 20 minutes. It took twice as long and they were clearly having problems but the ride was a blast. Glad we got in line around 11:40 because we wouldn't have waited 3 hours. I think a little patience on everyone's part is needed as they figure out the bugs and hopefully get them worked out soon. Also, a special thanks to Robert K. In security. Really helped me out and then recognized me and followed up the next day when he saw me walking around the park.

Sportsdude360
Yeah, we've been having the same trouble with our JLBFM here at SFOT. The ride actually broke while I was riding it the other day. But when we got back to the load/unload area we were told to stay on the ride. Once they got it fixed they let us re-ride. Apparently, the cars will occasionally stop in an oddball position. Sometimes facing away from the screen or before they've made it all the way into a particular scene. In one instance, the car I was in stopped sideways to the Lex Luthor hologram. That meant we had to look off to the side to see Lex. If your actually on the ride when it malfunctions you should receive a re-ride. Here we are waiting for our re-ride after the cars malfunctioned. SFStl Fan
I wonder if the issues are a programming/software issue or an issue with Oceaneering's ride vehicles.
Sportsdude360
I wonder if the issues are a programming/software issue or an issue with Oceaneering's ride vehicles. The ops told me it was largely a computer issue. Bugs with the program that controls the cars.

HWFan
Anyone know SFSTL's attendance number for 2014? seems like all the numbers are out per another post. While that TEA organization comes out with their annual report, the numbers they release for the Six Flags parks do not come from Six Flags. Six Flags never releases any kind of attendance numbers. Even the Six Flags parks don't even really spread them around at all. If any employee that is privileged with that type of information, could easily be fired for sharing that, especially as Six Flags is a public company. SFZIP
All I will say about the attendance in 2014 is that it fell by around 6% and that the attendance at SFSL bounces up and down a little each season for around the last 10, if you drew a trend line on a graph it's basically flat for that entire time. RollerManic
I want to know how it'll be after JLBFM. Afterall, the success of the ride is pretty much that.
HartmannHunter22
Guys... A Topper Track revival of the Boss isnt exactly, "Reasonable". That still costs a lot of money. Especially after plopping down 10 Million+ for JLBFM. For them to do that the next year is a long stretch. With Six Flags being a Chain, you can assume that many rides are going to be cloned into their parks. Look at the thunder rivers, skyscreamers, and super loopers for example Thus, Im gonna go with a super looper, like Bourbon Street Fireball, for the next season. And maybe another small flat ride, like how Harley Quinns Spinsanity was included with the addition of the Joker Super Looper at SFOG. Hopefully that ride would be a Flying scooter by Larson Int. I noticed we dont have a family/semi thrill ride like them(That last bit is a stretch too, as no other Six Flag Park has them I believe). Then, For 2017, they could go with the removal of Tidal wave, and possibly introduce a different water ride like it. Especially with Dave saying they were going to expand that part of the park, a bigger-footprint water ride could be in the works. If not, could they remove TW and the same year do the Topper track Boss? Just a thought really. 2018, the Year that could be Legendary. Gonna go with a Floorless B&M. We need one(or so we have convinced ourselves). You all know it. This is an extremely realistic year to hope for it. In 2017, they open the top part on the right side of the park, then in 2018, you open the lower bit with the floorless and connect the paths, put in some food and drink and call it a new themed area. Bam. Ehh? Im not going to guess any further. Why? 1: Im to lazy. 2: In august, they could announce something crazy and totally screw everything up. So lets stop here for now. When you look at their five year plan, you have to realize your are only going to get 2 or maybe 3 HUGE additions, like a coaster or huge dark ride. Especially for SFSTL being one of the parks that they dont seem to care for the most, 2 big rides seems like a safe bet. Lets face it, Six Flags is not just going to throw money at our park, and add a 15 Million Dollar+ Ride every year. We arent magic mountain guys. Thanks,
SteveStL
Thus, Im gonna go with a super looper, like Bourbon Street Fireball, for the next season. No way! If we get one of those Loopers I will get violently ill. One of those things comes every May with the traveling carnival at the South County Mall. People can Ride it there. It will be interesting to see attendance figures between Holiday World (Thunderbird) and SFSTL (JL) next year at this time.

Are you serious? We'd be lucky to get 1 or 2 LARGE additions in the next five years. I would consider JL a Large addition. The only addition for this park I would consider HUGE is a big steel monster. I still think too many of our rides are near the end of their life cycle to expect a new area to open. Tidal Wave will be gone soon, Ninja, I think will be gone soon. The Log Flume seems to need some major re-vamping soon. Excalibur seems to be very tempermental, not saying that it will be gone, but many more problems and I think it could be on the chopping block. S:TOP, although newer to us has never seemed to be fully functional in the five years I've been attending the park. Just thinking all these are more likely to be replaced before a "new area" is opened up. The only way I can see a new area opening up is if it starts with a Huge coaster for one year and then add in 3-4 small carnival type flats in the following years. I think more likely next years addition would be a water coaster in the current paintball area. Has anyone ever noticed the paved path near Big Kahuna continues another 30-40 feet past the entrance to nothing. Seems like this would be an area easier to expand. Also finally rode Thunder River on my last visit, noticed the patched up water fall area near the end of the ride. If they were trying to use a local tie in by calling it the Bagnall Water Works or whatever it was, do they realize Bagnall was spelled wrong? It's Bagnell Dam at the Lake of the Ozarks. Anyway I'm going to miss all the previews for JL and hope to get to the park at opening on Friday to give it a whirl.
