Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

I would love to have the Eagle Topper Tracked for preservation. I just dont know if SFStL can justify it, especially how it is running right now. What would be really cool is if they chose to paint the topper track (ala Goliath) red, just like the rails are today. It'd be very bold!

Other than topper track, I don't believe we will ever see an RMC anymore. I would doubt a custom too.

Is it just me or does it bug anyone else that the staff uses the set just behind the cyborg figure in the JLBFM set as shelfs. I was there last night and there was a quiktrip soda cup and a water bottle sitting on the casework behind the figure. I think that since they spent some money putting up theming that it should not be used for cups. Also I hope that they consider adding a single rider line. It seems that there are still many cars that are going out less than full. Although they are doing a better job than opening day .

SO, I am totally against an ibox of eagle. The money that they would spend on it would definitely be needed for other aspects of the park. Whether it be towards ride upkeep or a new ride altogether; a ride like some new flats or a floor-less that I think would be more useful to the park than an ibox.

Also, I am curios about what people think the best new ride is: JLBFM or Thunderbird.

I get they are two totally different experiences, but I am just curious to what the forum thinks.

Its not just you. I went last week and noticed the same thing. It takes away from the theme. Also, are you supposed to be able to hear Cyborg? Last week there was no sound coming from the animatronic.

Has anyone ridden JL:BFM without shooting and trying to play the game? I would highly recommend it! You can focus on the story and actually seem to notice quite a bit more than when focusing on shooting the targets.

What have waits for JLBFM been like on June weekdays?

I can't report for weekdays, Sunday was running at 45-60 minutes all day until a final storm passed through about 7 pm. Then my first wait was about 20 minutes, 2 nd and 3rd waits about 10 minutes, but the park had really cleared out.

I am happy to report that after the intervention you all staged, Cyborg was able to finally admit he was becoming a messy bachelor in his new home. He has promised to clean up his act and keep his desk area tidy.

Thank god, it looked bad on opening weekend already. I thought then it was going to be an issue. Good work HWFan.

Hey, I was kind of reminiscing about when I worked out at the park, which was quite some time ago, and I got to looking for older pics of the park. I'm not talking 70's and 80's but late 90's to mid part of 00's. Does anyone have done of those pics? I'm really struggling to remember what BBNP looked like before it was there and maybe Castaway Kids. I really miss the music from that ride. Old construction pics are wanted too. Thanks guys!

That's awesome!!!!! Hopefully, this will never happen here at SFOT.

I went to the Park this past Monday. It was a fantastic day! Just a few notes:

JLBFM was such an awesome ride! I loved it! My only complaint is that it took me four attempts through out the day to actually ride it due to break downs. I really hope this gets sorted out soon because that was getting really frustrating.

The Boss was so very rough. We only rode it once. Its gotten to where its not even worth a ride.

Screamin Eagle was a little more rough than my last visit last month, but was still awesome.

Crowds were awesome! The longest lines we waited in were no more than ten minutes!

^The breakdowns on JLBFM are mostly due to bugs in the computer program which controls

the ride vehicle movements. Here at SFOT I've ridden numerous times when the cars

did not seem to be moving/stopping as they should. I have always gotten re-rides

when this would occur.

My bets are on Roar at SFA.

If other parks get JLBFMs, SFStL will always be the "original" (even over the STOT one because oursfit much better IMO) and the ride will be special, not some clone. It may just be the best thing for a long time if Dave was serious about it being our "hyper coaster".

What have waits for JLBFM been like on June weekdays?

I went on Wednesday and it was overcast and, at around 2 pm, it poured. The wait first thing in the morning was fifteen minutes (we were in at 10:32 am), but during the deluge, it was about 35 minutes.

Wednesday, overall, was beautiful. The rain was a little painful on my face during Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast, but I was able to stay on it as the queues were virtually empty. Same for every ride, even Pandemonium. No one in my family wanted to reride Screaming Eagle, which made me a little upset, because I liked it quite a bit. While I waited for them to do the clock motion ride just up from the train depot, I rode Ninja three times, because that is where I told my family to meet me. Kind of wish I had told them I would be all the way over at Batman, but our cell phones were dead.

Only bad part of the day was waiting until circling back to JL:BFM for a second show and waiting until then to do American Thunder. As a result, I only rode it once and it is a tight little ride. I could have done that for awhile, but my family would have none of it, so we ate at an Irish place across the Interstate in Eureka.

The park can't catch a break at all this week. Park is closing early again. Dang rain.

Yea, it's been really rough, but as one Guest put it today, "hey, we are still having a blast!"

Monday closed at 9, Tuesday at 7:30, Wednesday at 9, Thursday at 6:30, and today at 1:00. However, there are two great things to thank the park management for today:

1. All employees were paid for a minimum of four hours work, no matter how long they were there.

2. A group from South Carolina was at the park as their pit stop on their way to Denver for a mission trip. They drove through the night and were planning the same for tonight. Unfortunately, their bus driver has to sleep today and won't be ready to leave until 8:00 tonight. So what did Dave Roemer do? He gave them a little extra ERT on JLBM for a bit after the park technically closed. Then, he rounded up the HR vans, and the students will be transported to West County mall, where they can spend the day hanging out and shopping/eating before the bus will pick them up there. It is just one of those little things situations where the park was able to make a sucky situation suck less for the Guests.

Got to the park today to see it closing at 1. Kinda bummed out, but we are going to try to go in the morning and head home after we are done. I just have never seen a park close at 1 in the afternoon...I could understand if it was really bad, but when we got there it was just drizzling and then it stopped for like 3 hours. I just don't understand. It wouldn't have been so bad but this is the end of our trip, and we were trying to fit it in right at the end. Anyways just thought I would comment.
