Okay so HITP Boss is a pipe dream. I'm not sure what makes it so sensitive.

 

I'd still love Eagle, I do wonder if it can be run.

 

HITP Boss sounds more like a pip nightmare.

I wonder if the park is considering using heaters to warm the rolling stock like Great Adventure has.

Great Adventure doesn't use heaters to warm the rolling stock. They transfer the trains on (empty) and hit the dispatch button. That's pretty much the extent of it.

After rides in 15 degree weather last year, it's apparent GAdv gave zero Fs.

Anyone here make it to the park Monday or Tuesday evening? Curious how long the lines were and if the park was crowded or not.

Anyway I wasn't there Monday or Tuesday either, but I very much doubt the crowds were anything more than thin. Reduced hours and not the best of temps.

Lines were not bad at all, so even with the cold, everyone seemed to be having a great time.

The HITP site appears to be back up today. Seems to be the same content as last year - Boomerang and Skyscreamer not on it even though we know they had those open some.

That's because it's last year's website. It appears that they didn't update any of the Holiday in the Park content yet for any of the parks.

Just got the newsletter/passholder announcements email and it indicates that they will have Eagle open for HITP.

^That's awesome! I didn't make it to the Holiday in the Park last year, but the Eagle running will make me way more likely to get there this year.

Sweet! I haven't gotten that email yet. Is Mine Train open?

They didn't have a map or list on there yet (or on the web site) but there was a little article about riding Eagle during the Holidays. The only other rides that were mentioned was Freeze and Colossus, but I would be very surprised if Mine Train wasn't open. It was last year and it's a draw for the littler ones that are coming to see Santa and such.

I'm really glad Screaming Eagle will be open. I'm curious if anything else that was open last year will be closed this year as a result. I'll only complain if JB's is closed.

I don't remember hearing anything was problematic so I don't think we'll be seeing something close in its place. I'd imagine staffing will be better in year two (I'm even considering applying as a second job - but a 33 year old?)

That's really good news on the Eagle as those views in the back at night will be awesome, especially with the Jellystone attraction up the hill, down the highway completely lit up. The view of it from Ninja looked really cool, but the Eagle will be much better. Let's hope the old girl runs well in the cold! Hopefully with Eagle in operation that means that the Boomerang will be on-line.

 

It will be interesting to see what they add as far as lights go, as in the section of the park around American Thunder it's basically completely black. Thunder was a lot of fun in the cold last year, so hopefully it sees a little yuletide love.

 

I'm also really hoping they run Mine Train full time for HITP as that's the coaster two of my girls love to ride. I know they opened it sporadically last year when crowds got really heavy.

 

Last year was good, so here's to hoping year two is even better.

Sure! Why not? There are lots of teachers who work there over the summer and retirees that take a job there. I keep telling my son that it's going to be my retirement job when I'm done teaching since I will only be 53. He wants to work there as soon as he's old enough and not thrilled with the idea of me being there too

According to the park, Superman and Screamin Eagle are closed for the season and will not open with HITP.

Hmmm.....that totally contradicts the email they sent out to the passholders. Perhaps right hand and left hand need to talk more often? Wonder where the truth lies?
