Took pics of RR and the new Catwoman ride!!!!!

Unfortunately, it looks like Johnny Rocket's will be closed until the new rides are completed.

Going to be in town in a couple of weeks and am visiting the park on April 29th. I just have a quick question: what is the easiest way to get to the park from Dallas without a car? Public transportation, taxi/uber, or any other way? Thanks in advance.

Uber would be your best bet. No public transportation to the park and a taxi would probably be a lot more expensive than Uber.

You could maybe save a little by taking the Trinity Railway Express commuter train from downtown Dallas to Centreport Station and then Uber from there. You would just have to decide if it's worth it to take twice as long to get there to save 10 or 15 bucks.

I was just there at the beginning of the month and used uber to get to the park. Depending on how busy they are it was around 30 bucks from what I remember. There was no easy or quick public transportation to the park from what I saw. Going around Dallas though I thought the dart system was fantastic and I even took it to the airport.

  • 2 weeks later...

Supposed to visit the park tomorrow but now I'm on the fence due to the nasty storms they're calling for. Question for the locals: should I head out to the park anyway tomorrow and hope for the best, or just scrap my plans and try visiting again in the future?

The 'weathermen' here suck, like more than a seasoned pornstar, so if you are in town I would take the chance. As long as no lightning and a monsoon doesn't arrive they'll have many things open. Worst case they shut down for a few. It's a school trip day so they'll make every effort to be open.

I just found out something about our Zamperla Endeavor (Catwoman). Apparently, ours is the new Endeavor 48

meaning it has 48 seats. The Endeavor ride up at Coney Isand has just 24 seats. This

means our Endeavor is a rider capacity monster that is guaranteed to move lines fast!

Was at the park Friday and just wanted to share a few thoughts.

The park is beautiful. Honestly I didn't know what to expect but I was blown away by the scenery. Ample shade and creeks running through the park lend to the atmosphere. Also enjoyed seeing some actual themeing in a Six Flags park, especially over by JB's Smokehouse and the area near Runaway Mountain.

Now for the rides

Texas Giant: Yes. This ride is amazing, and you locals are so lucky to have this in your park. Great air, especially in the back, but the front is also a lot of fun. Definitely in my top 10, just not sure where yet. I've only ridden two RMCs but this is definitely my favourite.

Titan: Much better than it's sister out in California. The drop seems like it's never going to end and those helixes are forceful.

Runaway Mountain: Pleasant surprise of the day. Loved that unlike Skull Mountain at GAdv, they actually do a good job of making sure no light bleeds through. Didn't know which way was up by the end of the ride, and that's quite alright by me.

Shock Wave: Great ride absolutely ruined with the VR headsets. I originally planned on riding once without the VR and once with, but the ops were so bad and I was pressed for time and only rode without the VR. Thankfully this ride packs a punch anyway, and I have to once again tip my hat to Anton for designing a gem.

Mine Train: Eh. Seemed every time it was about to get going, another lift hill appeared. Just wanted the credit.

Mr Freeze: Great launch that took me by surprise even though I knew it was coming, and the inverted top hat is very disorienting. Also really enjoyed climbing up the spike. Riding this made me wish GAdv had gone with one of these models instead of trying and failing with The Chiller. Oh well.

Judge Roy Scream: Credit #100 for me! Unfortunately that's the only positive I have to say about this ride. Wanted to enjoy it but it was just too rickety for me. Kudos to the park for keeping a classic, though. I did think it was cool how the ride isn't technically in the park however.

Skipped La Vibora because I just wasn't interested and B:TR and Pandemonium because I have those credits elsewhere, and as mentioned before I didn't have much time in the park.

Also hopped on Yosemite Sam's Gold River Adventure because I had to see first hand what a SF dark ride was like. Kind of lame but I couldn't stop laughing. Enjoyed that it was a decently long ride and gave me the opportunity to get off my feet and into some A/C.

Only bummer was that Justice League was closed. I was really looking forward to riding it.

Overall, great park. Of the four SF parks I've visited, it slots in firmly at #2 (sorry, I'm biased towards my home park, GAdv.) Hope to visit again someday in the future, hopefully with some more time to spare.

Nope. Star Flyers don't appeal to me.

Translation:

"Star Flyers scare me poo-poo less"!

Sounds pretty accurate.

I am almost never scared of any ride, but those Windseekers always make me feel a little vulnerable. I can't imagine how much more terrifying the 400-foot one feels, especially being suspended by chains.
