coasterguy618 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 In your opinion, what video game do you think has the best soundtrack? I think Tony Hawk's American Wasteland does. They Taking BAck Sunday, Green Day, and My CHemical Romance. Great Soundtrack. -Gaven
coasters 4 me Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 DDR Extreme won the Best Video Game Soundtrack in the VMA's 05. I like Midnight Club 3 & SSX3
Stitch Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Backyard Wrestling 2 : There Goes the Neighborhood is my choice for band soundtracks and Manhunt is my choice for score soundtracks.
AllisonY2K Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
trustkill22 Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 I have to say the Tony Hawks and DDR's and I second Crazy Taxi because that sound track was great. Bad Religion and Offspring were perfect matches for that game and the 5 songs repeating over and over again made them so catchy.
momo1tx Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Only game I have with one that immediately comes to mind is Crazy Taxi.
Erik Johnson Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 I always enjoyed the music from the Castlevania games myself...Though Katamari Damacy has the best opening theme song ever.
Real Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Halo 2. So epic. Music you can turn on and feel like you arent quite in Kansas anymore. However, nothing beats the classics of Nintendo IMO.
ShoubraStreet74 Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 ^ I agree, the soundtrack of both the original Halo and Halo 2 is very good. I want to say Half-Life 2 but just can't since the music is rarely even around anyway. Halohas the best soundtrak, its so..... right for the game, and adds alot to the overall atmosphere. It seems really hard to think of a game I've played that has a very good sountrack, Halo is the only one that comes to mind.
batmanfan612 Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 I can't believe no ones mentioned these names already: The Metal Gear Solid series, Final Fantasy series
FlyingScooter Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 i agree w/ Allison2K's list. the TH series has been great .Ditto for kingdon hearts. I'd add to that list: the Medal of Honor Series. Gran Turismo, which was the first time i heard Garbage. and an oldie: the 3DO verison of Road Rash. Sound Garden music fit that game well. i also think that was the first game to have a 'name' bands music in it.
KevinT Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 I got into so many bands because of the Tony Hawk games. So I'll say all the Tony Hawk games.
FlyingScooter Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 This thread and all the Tony Hawk ref's have got me singing Police Truck... tonight's the night drive the trucks go downtown and beat up drunks... good stuff...
WillMontu Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 For a lot of games, I find the soundtrack is a big part of the experience The GTA series (even the old school top down games had decent soundtracks). I prefer Vice City over the others though. Old school Mario Any games involving Bobby Prince (Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Commander Keen, etc.) Monkey Island 3
TheGreatOne Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 What? No love for the Double Dragon 1 or 2 theme songs? They're stuck in my head some 15 years later.

Old school Mario Any games involving Bobby Prince (Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Commander Keen, etc.) Monkey Island 3 Yes, someone said Monkey Island! 3's got an amazing soundtrack, but really the entire series has great music when it's used. Even the midi masterpieces for 1 and 2. I also put Kingdom Hearts, Command and Conquer Generals, Jak and Daxter, and Sly Cooper into that mix. ---Stuart
Blazen_AZN Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Katamri Demaci (great now it's stuck in my head) and.... Prince of Persia Sands of Time (by far the best)
Angry_Gumball Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Tetris has the catchiest of all of the soundtracks out there imo. To be perfectly honest, I've downloaded varietys of remixes of the Tetris "A" music as they were quite catchy.
imbordisux Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Buble Bobble 2 What about the first "Bubble Bobble"? Oh, and "Spy Hunter".
