willh51 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 In 2008 I was on a train that rolled back and had to be evacuated from the launch track on Volcano at King's Dominion, where people are pretty dumb judging by this thread. Girl to employee assisting guests to leave the area: "I'm gonna sue ya'll asses for that. My dad almost had a heart attack and my back hurts." Me to employee after they left: "Are people normally that stupid?" Employee: "You have no idea." Also, the GP love to add "the" in front of everything. The Volcano, the Dominator, the Nitro, the Kingda Ka, etc. It annoys me more than it should.
amyzoo Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 A friend at work noticed some pictures on my facebook from my TPR trip to Europe last year. So she said "I didn't know they had roller coasters there??"
gci2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 ^Winner I live an hour from Cedar Point, so everybody at my school talks about it like its the greatest (which it may be ). Anyway, one of my friends posted this on Facebook: "Alright, so on the Millennium Force last year, a supermodel got hit by a bird." The saddest part was watching all of my friends comment and laugh. I wanted to comment and correct her, but I held back...
Jcoasters Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 "One time Superman The Escape flew off the track and then fell but everybody lived because they were wearing they're seatbelts."
Mr P Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 On Air at Alton Towers, just a few days ago: Fool: "Why are the trains wet?" Me: "Because it's raining" Fool: *Do they get wet in the rain?" Me: *no comment*

tiger01 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Some random woman came up to me in Chessington... Woman: "Do you get wet on the log flume?" Me: "No not at all!" She actually went and rode it! I ran...
CardCraze Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 The Orchestra in my school is going on a field trip to Orlando this week. They have access to all the parks... or as they tend to think, one enormous cluster of a park. Here we go, highlights from this week; Me: "Epcot is a really nice, neat park, but as far as rides go, there aren't too many." Kid: "But they just built the new Harry Potter section!" Me: "..." Me: "Universal is better than Disney in terms of Coasters, Dueling Dragons is incredible!" Them: "Space Mountain is the best coaster I have ever been on!" Me: "Wow, how many coasters have you been on?" Them: "A lot, but Space Mountain is dark!" Me: "..." Girl: "Where's the park where you can dress up like a Princess and they have like character dress up?" Me: "Wtf?" Girl: "They have all these characters!" Me: "Oh! Fun Spot USA! *evil laugh*" I can't wait until they get back, and I can hear all about how awesome "Space Mountain" is, and how "Revenge of the Mummy" sucks because it doesn't have any "looooooooops!".
Hugecoltsfan Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 While standing in line for Rebel Yell a woman turned to me and asked,Woman: Whice one is this? Me: Ah, Rebel Yell. A white wooden coaster. Woman: What does it do? Me: Well, it's an out and back coaster. It turns around by I305 over there. Woman: But does it go upside down? Me: no I heard something like that on the ride. When the train was about to leave the station this girl was like freaking out about riding it and asked her parents if it went upside down.
BaMiTsPaT Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) This weekend at Carowinds, but completely unrelated to Carowinds: Me: "Hey (friend's name) I really want to come down to New Jersey and ride the Green Lantern this summer!" Friend: "I don't want to ride it." me: "why?!" Friend: "I'm going to miss Kingda Ka." me: "haha what??" Friend: "My friend works at Great Adventure and said they're removing Kingda Ka in order to build the Green Lantern." Me: "Your friend is wrong." GIANT SIGH Edited April 14, 2011 by BaMiTsPaT
Teacups Make Me Sick Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Wow-sers..... Was listening to a big radio station this moring (Z100) on my way to work...one of the dj's is a 'coasterboy' and was talking about the parks he is planning on going on.... Then the stupidity began.... The dj's were asking him about the safety of rides, and he was telling them about how a plane is more dangourous....fine. THEN the GP, called in...this was the best of the best: Caller validates her story by stating she is an hour away from Kings Island. On Kings Island they have this circular rollercoaster that lifts you up really high and then drops you fast......she preferenced her call by saying that she would never go on this ride again b/c nobody died, just a really bad accident. The caller told the dj's that she would never go on this coaster again b/c a few years ago, there was an accident on this coaster.....one of the cords snapped and cut off a little girls legs.
Hugecoltsfan Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Before getting on avalanche at Kings Dominion My friend who is scared of roller coasters was convinced that train was just going to roll right off the tracks so he stayed off. While getting off of Avalanche Friend: We need to ride a real roller coaster. Me: what are you talking about we just rode Flight of Fear, Backlot, and avalanche Friend: But, those don't have hills and avalanche doesn't have a track. I stayed silent after this .
BaMiTsPaT Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 ^^^ I agree sorry everyone I got lazy and just looked for the little red lines on that one.
Skycoastin Steve Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Had a good one at BGW today. I was sitting and enjoying an ice cream cone when some teenage girls walk up to one of the big park maps and start trying to figure out where they are. That's when one of them points at the train track on the map and says, "WOAH! Which coaster is THAT??" I almost threw my ice cream at her.
paiging_jen Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 ^ But not worth wasting good ice cream on stupidity!
StarTrekGeek Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 While I'm not sure this counts, when I stayed in the Hampton Inn at Tampa last month (when I went to BGT), I overheard a conversation of a little kid, observing a brochure of the park. He said the park "even has an Elmo roller coaster." I guess he means Air Grover.
Ace Of Spades Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Since Speed the Ride is closing, I've been trying desperately to convince my friends to go ride it before it's gone. Unfortunately, I've kicked in the rumor mill, as every few days I overhear "That roller coaster at the Sahara is closing, because someone died/it flew offblahblahblah". What have I done?!
BigBadWolf666 Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Was just on youtube watching this guy's POV of Pepsi Max Big One, and he explained how it had one of the fastest drops in the world. Well I happened to be going throuh the comments and I saw... SLOW!!! Come to America and ride Millenium Force Much taller and faster.. or you can ride top thrill wich is like 425 feet tall and goes 220+mph Needless to say I lol'd.
derek_lentz Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 While riding the Carolina Cobra at Carowinds (a standard Vekoma Boomerang): While we were being pulled up the first lift hill a girl sitting in front of me looked down at the station that we just pulled out of and said "I really don't want to hit that roof"
Angry_Gumball Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Read a good one on CGA's Facebook (my new source for GP-isms when I'm not at the park). Someone posted: Very disappointed with one of the employees Ryan who was managing bumper cars; I was stuck for over half the race and he didn't even do anything...Hey Ryan if your reading this I hope you are thinking that you are the most useless person on earth considering your life meaning is to manage the bumper car station at great america So of course I had to chime in and say: I highly doubt a ride attendant manages and updates CGA's Facebook... Plus you do know the bumper cars can go in reverse to get yourself out of a corner? Realistically it's unsafe to walk on an electrically charged floor while cars are going about. Then the response: he could have stopped it dummy LOL at the GP...so again, I had to chime in and say: Uh...I"m not calling names to anyone but ignorance would be someone who can't figure out how to work their bumper car. If you get stuck its simple...go in reverse. I would do the same if I were running the ride...not the operator's fault if the people can't drive. I wouldn't take the time to interrupt a ride just to fix someone's lack of driving skills just to watch them get stuck again. Gotta love people...will cry over their own mistakes and expect someone to fix it for them. If you see a pileup ahead, steer clear of it...right? Or if you get stuck, just turn your wheels till you can go in reverse to get out of it.
jjune4991 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 On the tram into Busch Gardens: "See that new coaster right there? That's the Cheetah Run. It's gonna be the longest in the world!"
