dannyboy13
^ I saw another photo showing it's going where the season pass processing center is currently. Can you post? That would actually be a good spot for it if they can squeeze it and a decent sized queue in.
Mater
It would have been nice if they had put it in the old Jambo spot, but I honestly don't think any more rides are ever going to be put in that back area due to the animals.

larrygator
A good reason to be disappointed is that six flags is not adding any variety by adding like 4 of these things into their park on the same year This is not relevant to over 95% of the SF guests who will not visit two SF parks with this ride next year. Mater
Jambo was in the back left corner of the park. Sorta near where the Giraffes are now, behind the kid's land.

powpig
Looks like SIx Flags is running a Season Pass Sale this Labor Day Weekend for SFDK. Just $49.99 good for the rest of this year & all of 2015, with a free upgrade to the Gold Pass which includes Free Parking. Pass is good at ALL Six Flags parks too! Sounds like a helluva deal but the catch (there's always a catch) is you have to buy 4 passes to get that price. So my girl & I are in, looking for 2 others who want to join up or maybe we can jump on board with your group. PM me. We'll be a WCB at SFMM next weekend and could settle up if you will be too. moviemansig
Based on park goers’ experience, would the lines be less for White Water Safari and Monsoon Falls late in the afternoon? Thanks.
805Andrew
This addition doesn't really fit Discovery Kingdom. They just got a superior looping coaster not too long ago so an inferior addition seems pointless. They also have a flat ride that loops around. And this isn't really a coaster, its an oversized Ring of Fire. At least Magic Mountain is getting Twisted Colossus.

Its not the time of day so much as the weather. The hotter it is, the longer the lines are.

RAWKIN_coaster38
I'm curious to see where this goes. From the video, it looks like you can see the vertical spike of V2 in the background. So are they getting rid of the dolphin pool or one of the other animal exhibits near here? I can't see them taking out the go kart track, as that's a moneymaker for them. From the photo and video that Robb posted, I thought it would be put in the backstage area behind V2. Like right behind the exit for V2. They use that area for a maze for Fright Fest but that maze sucks anyway. I bet they could devise another entrance to that backstage area for employees. If you look at the video, you can see V2's vertical spike at the relative area it would be if the new ride went where I'm imagining it
rcdude
^I wouldn't try to judge the location by the promo video as that all appears to be stock footage from Brain Drain at Elitch Gardens. The spike you see is Half Pipe, which looks similar to V2. I was under the impression it was going next to Cobra, but I don't think anything has been officially announced. I know there's been a lot of complaining about Six Flags buying these rides, but personally I think it looks like a decent addition in SFDK's case. The park isn't big enough to warrant frequent coaster additions, so with Superman in 2012 I'm guessing it will be a couple more years before the next major coaster. This is a good thrill ride after getting a family ride last year, and probably won't be a capacity issue at this park. No, I won't drive up to Northern California to ride this (I don't really like these rides anyway) and it isn't really a ride most enthusiasts will care about, but I do think it will be popular among the general public. Now if only they would stop promoting it as a coaster...
RAWKIN_coaster38
^thanks for making that clear for me. I was wondering why Roar wasn't in the pic. Idk why I thought Six Flags would edit the footage to put V2 into it So if this ride will take the place of pass processing, anyone have an idea where that would go? The lines get super long so I hope they'd at least move it somewhere where it wouldn't be a traffic issue Also, it's funny because based on their Facebook post, most of the GP don't seem too enthused. At least we're getting a new ride
Mechanic
This ride announcement does nothing for me. I would have much preferred the Justice League dark ride that a couple parks in the chain are getting (or a similar ride that fits DK's theme better). The tide has clearly turned to CGA currently being the better of the 2 bay area parks for the time being. That's where I'll be going instead. I also don't think we will see anything big coming to the park until a few years from now. They are just so incredibly limited on space. I would love to see the 3D theatre taken out and some type of coaster go there. I guess we will have to see what the future has in store.
CPSFMMCW
they should get a drop tower before a coaster! Even if it is only 150 feet. Plus drop towers don't use up that much space, especially when comparing it to the amount of space a coaster takes up.

I do think a drop tower would be a nice addition to the park; in fact, an ARM-Larson tower would fit almost perfectly in terms of height! However, one could argue that the location of CGA's Drop Tower and SCBB's Double Shot (relatively) near SFDK would mean that a drop tower is a less likely addition. For the record, I would love to try one of those ARM-Larson Super Shots
