boardwalkbullet91507
I've been on two Sky Screamers, the 400ft one at SFOT and the standard 200ft one at the Galveston Pleasure Pier that's, may I include, over water, and they're overall great rides. IMHO, I wouldn't mind if every park had one. They're actually really smooth, and because the seats are on chains, if it's windy enough. the seats will begin to gyrate and it's a crazy experience. The one in Galveston is actually really beautiful, especially at night as they have LED's up the whole tower. I'm glad Mexico is getting one, it really is a nice park from what I can tell and I'm glad Six Flags is investing in it.
gerstlaueringvar
Since I haven't ridden any of the two. Why SkyScreamers are better than WindSeekers? Windseekers feel so protected, huge mechanical arm+huge lap bar+plastic seats... Sky Screamers feel "dangerous" thus they are not just open air observation towers. A few chains+metal bar+tiny seat belt+Much more open seats plus higher speed definitely win. But Mondial wins on capacity issue.
MKvillalba
Ohhh. Thank you everyone for your answers. This gets me very excited about the SkyScreamer. One of my fav things about SFM is the amazing views you experience from the top of Superman and Kilahuea (the combo tower). With SS being even taller than these rides and lasting longer, the views will be surreal! I feel like the Sky Screamer should have been themed off of some of the culture we experienced in Mexico. These guys: Haha, that's the most popular comment among the GP on SFM's Facebook page! Cultural note: They are called "Los Voladores de Papantla" (The flying men from Papantla*). Papantla is a small town in the State of Veracruz, near the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.

MKvillalba
SkyScreamer rising CoasterWorldMX.com (via their Facebook page) has posted a couple of pictures of the SkyScreamer base on site and what appears to be the queue. SkyScreamer will be located in the Hollywood area of the park, next to Batman The Ride's shop. This is such a great location for this kind of ride, since it's exactly in the middle of three coasters: Boomerang, Batman and Superman and next to the forest outside the park. The queue and the ride itself are separated by a midway leading to the Go-Karts, and will be purpotedly be connected by a bridge. Location
WFChris
Thanks for the update! Do they have an 'official' opening date for the ride yet? Also, is the queue going to go over the midway or something? It looks like the midway goes directly in between the queue and the ride....

How much time does it take to build these kind of rides? About the queue: Yes, the midway goes directly between them. I think a bridge is the logical solution. MKvillalba
Six Flags Mexico shared an update about SkyScreamer. Construction is almost complete. Half of the Hollywood section of the park, where SkyScreamer is located, is closed as it's going through a massive renovation that will include the repainting of Batman The Ride. The area looks like this: (Photo credit to CoasterWorldMX) Greetings from Mexico City, TPR!
IronWolfman
Is Batman already repainted? In those pictures, the yellow track looks brighter than the last time I saw it, and the blue supports look like a lighter shade.
thrillseeker4552
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is going to be the 230-foot version, right? I know Six Flags has installed a number of different heights for their Sky Screamers, anywhere from the 150-foot one at SFDK to the 400-foot ones at SFOT and SFNE. It might look brighter beause today was a really sunny day! haha. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is going to be the 230-foot version, right?
