Jccoasterfan
So, it seems we are getting 27 coaster types/variants for the beta. Does anyone know if PTC-style trains are the only type you can use for wooden coasters? Or is it just like that for the beta? I watched a few videos on youtube and every wooden coaster I saw had the same trains. I was hoping to see GCI Millennium Flyer trains as another alternative (kinda like what they did in RCT3). Nonetheless, everything still looks amazing! I cannot wait for this game!
Midgetman82
^So far it's the only true wooden coaster in the game. Though they opted for Timberliner trains on the topper track for some reason, so one could still make that into a regular wooden coaster as well. ^^It might be an issue that needs to be taken to the Planet Coaster devs/forum. Perhaps your computer might not be strong enough? Are you sure you opened the regular version of the game and not the alpha?
Geauga Dog
Just wondering, that is, if they have released the B&M dive coaster - if you can do Immelmans, dive loops, in line twists, and zero-g rolls with it.
SixFlagsAstroworld
Still a WIP, but the RMC I-Box coasters look great as well. This looks epic! Speaking of RMC... is there an option where you can color one side of the track like Joker at SFDK?
Blue Turbo
^No, the color is for both rails
djackson
Now that we are going to be seeing a mobile port of RCTW, do you think we'll see one for PLC as well?
BotanicalStig
^I hope not. With this being the last week before the game launches "officially", I think they have much more work to do in the coming few weeks. The beta is buggy, really buggy, almost to the point where I'm surprised this was released by the same team building the alpha versions. I've had crashes, graphics glitches, not connecting with steam (running offline mode ATM), things I never saw with the alpha release. I hope they can get the game running stable before the weekend. Who knows what's next. I'm hoping for more free content in the coming weeks. When you look back to the old RCT series, PLC has so many fewer coasters, rides, building pieces, etc. I have no problem paying for expansion packs in the future (please Frontier, don't kill this franchise!) but I think the game is a little light on content. Midgetman82
^Considering how much attention to detail they put into each ride, I'm not surprised that it's currently light on content. They still have a rapids ride they plan to release once the game is officially out. Hopefully they plan to release more rides for free as updates to the game, and leave expansion pack DLC's to new themes (I'm hoping for snow and rain). The glitches happen on my end occasionally as well, but it's not so bad for my current park. It's far worse when I try to open a park I made during alpha, where everything glitches around when the camera moves until the game crashes. gk2b
Having alot of fun with the trigger effects! Strobe-effects when launching rollercoasters, gates that opens. Just an awesome game!
thrillseeker4552
Man, this game looks awesome. Too bad I can't get it until they come out with a Mac version...or I purchase a PC...whichever comes first.
Midgetman82
Just wondering, that is, if they have released the B&M dive coaster - if you can do Immelmans, dive loops, in line twists, and zero-g rolls with it. Pretty much, yep. All of those listed are pre-built elements too, and very smooth. Built this coaster just see if you could do those things. It's strange switching between different coaster types, because (like the real things) they all basically behave very differently. I've only scraped the surface with building each type of coaster (this was my first time messing with the dive coaster!).
MARK
This El Toro recreation is just mind blowing:
bluestreak
What's especially mind blowing is the fact that there's a train leaving the station before the other one stacks... Seriously though, Holy sh*t!!! That's fantastic.

Dante80
A new update is out. Birds, ballons, rapids, giga-coasters, and 2.5x larger parks among other things. https://forums.planetcoaster.com/showthread.php/15053-Planet-Coaster-Beta-Update!?p=127880#post127880 We’re so happy that you’re all enjoying the beta! As we move even closer to Planet Coaster’s release date (only 3 days away now... exciting!), the developers have been working around the clock and we’re super excited to be revealing some final features into the game – it’s update time! • New rides: Rolling River, Invincible, Chair-O-Plane These three new attractions are the perfect addition to your parks; you can add the stunning new Rolling River water ride, create a new epic coaster with the Invincible, or add a more gentle touch with the Chair-O-Plane! How exciting! • BALLOONS!! The latest addition to the Planet Coaster shops is an all-time favourite, balloon shop Loony Blooons! We can’t wait to see your guests walking around with their colourful souvenirs. And even better, each balloon is on a string! • More Shop news: Themed hats, mayonnaise for Monsieur Frites We have also added a variety of hats to be purchased in the Hat Shops, themed to Western, Sci-fi, and Fantasy; so your guests will have loads more options for funky headwear! Lastly, your guests can now choose to top their fries with... mayonnaise (YES, HOLLAND REPRESENT!), to give them the best of flavours at Monsieur Frites shops. • Two new entertainers! You’ve already had some sneak previews of the two last additions to the park staff, but we’re so happy they are finally ready to join the family: give a warm welcome to Miss Elly, our Western hot shot patrolling the grounds, and Tiki Chicken, the fiery, community-created flavour maker. • Help System: to... help! • Scenario balancing to Pirate Battles and Monolith Thanks to your valuable feedback over the past few days of beta, we have made some balancing changes to the two Beta Scenarios even further; try your hand at them again and see if you can still pass them both with three stars! • UI flow improvements The panel in the info panel and park management will now remember the last tab you were on; so you will not have to search for your active tabs again. • More lights hooked up to Coaster Trigger system Get the most of triggered events with even more lighting options to spruce up your coaster ride! • VIP Staff Pass now supports facial hair Get all the beards going this Movember! • Polish, QOL and Balancing - more of this • More optimisations: the team has been working hard over the last few weeks to get framerate up even further for a smooth experience, and today's update has the latest fruits of their labours. • Stability and compatibility improvements • Boids: Flocking Pigeons! And last but not least, by popular demand, your PARK AREA IS NOW OVER 2.5 TIMES BIGGER THAN BEFORE! As a result of the team's hard work on optimisations, they have increased your park sizes. You’ll have even more space to put down rides, build crazy coasters, and craft intricate landscapes your guests will absolutely love! You may see further updates for fixes before launch. Don’t forget, the final launch update will include the additional scenarios (with release balancing) as well as Steam achievements and trading cards! Planet Coaster is an important release for us, not just because we’re self-publishing the games that we love, but also because of the incredible community we have had the pleasure of being a part of over the past few months, who are equally passionate about the game, give us constant inspiration and feedback, and have helped us shape the game along the way. Every supportive post, share of your great content and kind word really does help spur the team on and is a vital part of the development of Planet Coaster. Thank you so so much for joining us for the ride, we can’t wait for November 17.
Midgetman82
They didn't upload any photos of what these looked like, including of "The Invincible." So I booted up the game to have a quick peek. Edit: whoops, new page! Go back one page to see the announcement post. The 28th coaster! "The Invincible" giga coaster Birds! Their feathers don't poof when you click them. Rolling River Chair-O-Plane

Dante80
Launch trailer is out. Frontier decided again to use mostly community creations for people like Silvarret and De-Lady-signer. Which is a pretty good choice for showcasing what the game can do imo (far better than a pre-rendered trailer).

Midgetman82
Honest question, do stores even have PC gaming sections anymore? Last time I walked into a GameStop, they did not have one at all. I thought most PC games had gone to online downloads by now.
