Gutterflower
Golden Horse also offer this Anyway on the topic of the Shanghai ride. It does seem a little odd B&M are essentially building a clone of a Vekoma ride. Maybe the park really wanted that layout? but it just seems weird to me. Maybe Happy Valley and Vekoma fell out. The first 3 parks in Shenzhen, Chengdu and Beijing all have Vekoma rides. But none of the latest three do Shanghai, Wuhan and Tianjin. Just speculation but you never know. rcjp
Looking forward to seeing what B&M can do in the family coaster business.
gerstlaueringvar
^ As far as I see, Knocking off Vekoma?
A.J.
Not necessarily. Finding the most efficient way of constructing something isn't the same thing as creating a knock-off. Why would you waste a whole lot of space with individual supports when you can create a jungle-gym structure?
DBru
^But it's literally the same layout with the same support structure. This whole project is bewildering... ...and I love it.
Jew
B&M builds what the client wants. If someone hands them a check and says "I want that (Vekoma junior coaster)," if they can do it, why not?
Midgetman82
I'm sure other big coaster companies have done the same thing before. Mack and Intamin's a good example, I think, with their variations on mega-lite layouts. Either way, I can't wait to hear how the Cadillac of coaster companies take on this type. JonnyRCT3
This coaster is quite odd. And like Jew said... B&M builds what the client wants. SharkTums
Am I the only one that keeps looking at the title of 'B&M Family Coaster' and thinking that's what they've been building for a long time now!
rcjp
^In a way... Actually I kind of feel sorry for B&M given that they have been being massacred here (even by me, sometimes) and also taking into consideration that we don't really know (at least I don't) how much of their recent forcelessness is actually their fault and not the park's that specifically order more "family friendly" rides. I guess we won't know for sure until they build an oldshool ride again.

I highly doubt that OCT would invest a lot of extra money on B&M family coaster which Vekoma provides the original version with much lower price. thrillseeker4552
^I hope that's a primer. It would be very disappointing to take this beautiful yellow and green Intamin and paint it an ugly white.
