djcoastermark Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Hills and Airtime and that out of control feeling , anyday !
cmullin Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Last time I preferred loops over hills was probably when I was 8. Airtime beats everything1
mark549 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Maverick is a good example that both hills and inversions can coexist. I'm looking forward to Iron Rattler and Outlaw Run.
XYZ Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Definitely hills, especially ejector airtime hills.
azza29 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Depends on the type of coaster - in general I'd prefer hills for the airtime, but on an invert or standup I'm more interested in inversions. Certain Arrows do wonderful things with inversions too...
Meteornotes Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I'd much rather have airtime hills than any sort of inversion. dt
cfc Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I wonder what sort of answers you'd get in the non-coaster-enthusiast community? Most of them seem to be all about the loops and corkscrews, if the "stereotype" is to be believed.
SingleRiderCam Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Hills wins it for me. The loops I really found great were on Full Throttle and Kumba but airtime hills work great on every ride that has one (except SFMM's Goliath)
A.J. Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Airtime when sitting above the track, inversions when sitting below.
disneygirl1611 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Hills!!! Most definitely hills!!!! The more hills the better!!!
Angle O. Descent Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Hills all the way (especially ejector airtime). Honourable mention goes to pretzel loops.
Ryancrash Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Hills, hills, HILLS! Hypercoasters all the way.
Homer Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Has there ever been such a lopsided opinion on a question here? Hills, easily.
Sharon29060 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 (edited) I would choose: Hills- Because I love airtime! But then.. I would also choose: Loops(and other inversions)- Because I like how there's a variety of inversions and I also like being upside-down(especially on coasters that have an inversion as the drop). But I have been on more coasters with inversions than on coasters with airtime. So I guess I'll go with loops. Edited October 30, 2013 by Sharon29060
Geauga Dog Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Airtime when sitting above the track, inversions when sitting below. Great answer and I second it.
