Jew
The clown maze is being set up once again near Xcelerator. In regards to overall Haunt progress through out the park, it seems they have their work cut out for them to have everything ready by opening day. They work until the very last second every year. Literally right up until the second it is open for guests.
dippindotsguy8
Ghostrider is supposedly scheduled to open up again on the 21st. However, it was originally scheduled to reopen the 9th, and they extended it, so we'll see. On another note, was Xcelerator open today? It was down yesterday, having what looked to be some major work done on the launch cable/catchcar (or something completely different, I'm not an engineer). Nice update! They appear to have made a ton of progress on PP in just the last 24 hours. Edited September 13, 2012 by dippindotsguy8
G-Force!
Yep, Xcelerator was running today and it was just as great as ever. Gotta love that insane backseat airtime.
Jew
It always goes down for rehab before Haunt. Hopefully a longer rehab means it will run good for 2 days instead of the usual 1 after rehab!
dippindotsguy8
^^ Good to hear, I might run over there Friday morning then. ^Hahaha! It's been in rehab for quite awhile, so maybe we'll get a full, 3-day haunt weekend of good rides out of it. We will see...

DJeXeL
Looks like they ran into a little issue with a piece that wasn't cut quite all the way. This crane has to hold it until they have someone cut the piece completely....
Chrisrad
Wow.. they're not wasting any time. Guess there was no way they could have salvaged/sold the ride?
DJeXeL
Probably makes more financial sense to sell it for steel scrap value.
Guy T. Koepp
Much like my car after my accident last month. It was worth more for parts and scrap than it was as a whole. The intact air bags alone netted me a pretty penny. Now to find a replacement car in LA. Boooooooo!
MylesG4L
Ok so a person I know that works at Knott's told me that Thrill rides are going to be in PP's spot -____________________-
thestripedtaco
^ So as in a flat ride/rides?

thestripedtaco
^ Agreed. So Vague. A thrill ride could be a coaster, flat ride, or anything considered above a family attraction.
Wes
Better that dull rides, I suppose.

MylesG4L
I ment flats. I would've said coaster if it was a coaster. But she also said that she didn't know if they were telling her that as a cover up for something else or not.
Manic Monte
Whatever it is, I'm sure I will be as underwhelmed as I always am with most other Knotts additions.
Voxelmatic
I ment flats. I would've said coaster if it was a coaster. But she also said that she didn't know if they were telling her that as a cover up for something else or not. Why would an employee tell you the truth? Employees aren't the most reliable source, even when the ride has been announced already. Except the Dippin' Dots guy. He never lies . But if that employee knew what it was, she wouldn't tell the truth about it before an announcement date had even been released. Whatever it is, I'm sure I will be as underwhelmed as I always am with most other Knotts additions. Oh well, any ride is better than no ride. Even if it isn't the biggest thrill, or even a family ride, it's still going to draw people to the park. And as long as people can go and have a good time on the new ride(s), it's a success for the park. Just take the fact that this park gets new, large additions almost every year, and not a mediocre ride every ten years.

SoCalCoasters
Cough *Pony Express* Cough. I agree completely. Seriously...why do you dislike Pony Express so much? It's a family oriented attraction, and not meant to thrill. If you take it for what it is, it's still a fun ride. Wes
^ I think the quotes got mangled there, cuz I don't hate PE. I actually think it's ok, minus putting footers and supports in the graveyard.
Guy T. Koepp
Wes covered my only issues with the coaster itself. As far as ride goes, I actually think it's kinda fun. Just way too short for the length you have to wait to ride it.
thestripedtaco
I wrote the thing about Pony Express being dull as a bad joke. But truthfully the ride is pretty terrible. The ride has a slow moving line, a ride time of about 30 seconds, and the ride that's there really does not justify any wait over 10 minutes.
