robinschroder Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 I'm 100% convinced most people would agree that rides on which you get eaten by any sort of animal are the very best kind. But where in the world can you find such rides? Here are a few to start off with: Hansa Park, Germany - Nessie Superrollercoaster Everything's going well, the ride feels like it's going to carry on, and then... (source : Robb and Elissa, TPR Forums) Heide Park, Germany - Krake You get eaten by Paul the Octopus at the bottom of the first drop! (source : Hanno Roos, TPR Forums) German Fairs, Germany - Wilde Maus (Göbel) Surely the very best Wild Mouse ride out there (even better than WIlde Maus XXL!). A mixture of thrill and great fun! (source : Robin Schroder, TPR Forums) Please help by adding more - let's make this the reference point for rides on which you get eaten by an animal. Thanks!
thrillerman1 Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 I love this thread already, Robin! Here's my entry, the dragon (or is it a snake?) from Starliner at defunct Miracle Strip. Photo credit from RCDB (Joe Schwartz)
robinschroder Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 Perfect, Mark! That is exactly what this thread is all about!
robbalvey Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 (edited) You know, I had never quite thought about the whole "rides where you get eaten by an animal" thing, but now that you mention it, it's pretty awesome, creepy, and bizarre all rolled into one! Edited June 2, 2013 by robbalvey
robinschroder Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 ^ Great, and at Berlin's Spreepark too - a doubly good contribution!
Sir Clinksalot Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Great thread!! First one that came to mind was Storybook Canal Boats at Disneyland.
ambe_bambe Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 damn you Gregg!!! I was just trying to track down my picture of that. In all seriousness it is pretty cool being eaten!
robinschroder Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 ^^ Wow this one's pretty special - where is this? ^ This one's on the borderline... but thanks for contributing!
Geauga Dog Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 One that immediately came to mind was Cedar Point's old Pirate Ride where you were swallowed by the whale.
Philrad71 Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Would this one qualify? Of course it will... it's a Schwarzkopf! Photo courtesy of TPR, of course!
simaticable Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 At the end of Monster Mansion at SFOG, you get eaten by a demon.
FeelTheFORCE Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Before the refurb on Noah's Ark at Kennywood, you used to enter through a whale's mouth. There are rumors they want to refurb the ride again and bring that part back.
robinschroder Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 ^ Oh definitely - I think the rule is as long as you enter into the mouth of something that is attempting to be some sort of creature or animal (no matter how badly, like in this example ) then it totally counts!
SharkTums Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Love this thread!!!! What better than getting eaten when on a Togo looping mouse!?!??! From TPR Park Index - Tobu Zoo - Defunct Crazy Mouse
robinschroder Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 ^ A classic combination! Perhaps even more special than the German fair wild mouse!
hansrubens Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 On Winjas Fear you go through a strange kind of animal. See the video at 1:10. Couldn't find a picture. Great thread Robin thanks!
robinschroder Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 Dank je wel, Hans - heel goed! And, may I say, excellent attention to detail!
oriolat Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 There are a couple of standard Zamperla spinning coasters touring Spanish fairs named "Ratón Vacilón". At the end you get eaten by a cat and pooped at the brakes. Awesome!
robinschroder Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 ^ Oh now this one's fantastic!! Loving the cat and (wild) mouse combos! ^^ And, yes, you and simaticable appear to be right about there being a demon on Monster Mansion that looks like: Image ruthlessly pinched from off of the internet
